| Blitz: Im going to kill him. Lyssra said the words with a cold resolve that I found somewhat disturbing, however her emotions spoke of more force than quiet. The heat off of her was akin to flames of a furnace. Even through the invisible orb that followed them I could feel the heat of her anger. The Orb of Seeing combined with a greater invisibility spell is simple feat. Of course, this mode of observation would fail with a more powerful mage, or at least someone more observant than an angry were-panther and her best friend. The orb vanished as I willed it out of existence. Lyssra was a women of virtue, at least when it came to her word. However I could not keep my anger from becoming personal in this matter as well. Maxis for all of the trouble that he causes, is still my best friend. Now this Rob individual is disrupting his life. I find this very unacceptable. Unfortunately, if I was to take more of a direct hand into this matter, that would upset Maxis, because I gave my word that I would refrain from getting involved. Even so, I find refrain to be somewhat of a vague term. I reached out with another spell. My mind ripped out of my body for a few moments and I watched myself walk from above. I was attached to my body by a single silver cord. Good. Part one was a flawless success. I willed several more cords to appear from my fingertips. Each one touched the corresponding part of my body. Once they all connected I walked my body like a puppeteer towards a bench and promptly sat myself down. The effect was not quite as smooth as it should have been, but then again this was my first time trying this outside of class. This technique is a modification of the standard Astral Projection spell. You see, anyone whos taken an Astral Mechanics course understands that the soul is connected to the body by what appears to be a silver cord. No one is quite sure why its silver, but it is. There are several areas of the astral plane. Without a proper guide I could easily lose myself. However, if I allowed my soul to reside in what is known as the near plane, I would be okay. Its the closest to the physical plane, considered as sort of limbo for souls for cant find there way into deeper planes. A good portion of the dangers for astral traveler resides in the Near plane. The most dangerous places are those closest to home. Fortunately I did not need to be here too long, and the number of silver cords that I produced would allow me to find my way back before some malicious spirit could sever them. As long as one remained I would be fine. I pushed myself off towards the apartment, arriving in almost an instant. I barely realized I was traveling before getting there. I could almost understand why Maxis blastboarded to school, I thought as I scanned the apartment. A small aura sat on the coffee table reading a book. ZehBob. He didnt look up from his book. I imagine that he could feel my aura before I even walked into the room. One of the more amazing things about Zehbob is his lack of surprise about anything mystic, but then again after over 2000 years in the demon world there cant be much he hasnt already seen a couple of hundred times over. I would have to change that. So whats up, Blitz? He said, still not even looking up. I have need for you, I would not want to skills to lay fallow for too long. I watched his ears kind of flop down. Aww cant it wait? Im in at the good part of the book. The Ring Wraiths are like two seconds away from discovering that little hobbit bastard and eating his soul. Im never sure whats more disturbing at times. The fact that hes reading all of these books or the fact that he is often rooting for the villains. There is a rogue who is disrupting Maxis prospects for getting laid. Ill handle it tomorrow. He has angered Lyssra. I remarked . I promise tomorrow He works within a den of antiquity, filled with sexual deviants, alcohol, drugs and scantily clad to nude women of low moral virtue. I could almost count the seconds as he processed the comment. His ears almost instantly perked up. The book was slammed shut with a bookmark that I didnt notice before. What is your bidding my master. Zehbob said in a stern voice that should not have come from a six inch tall imp. The only thing that betrayed him was the mischievous smirk on his face. Somehow I could not help but match it. |
