Thursday 17th June
Just to let you know that we have shows planned, woohoo! Firstly, we intend to play with Uncledad and two other bands at a special event at IKEA (near the Metro Centre.) Secondly, we're to be playing a battle of the bands contest at The Ropery in Sunderland. This will take place later on this month. I also got an e-mail today from a nice man from Middlesbrough Arena. It looks as though we're in the process of booking a show there to be played within the next two months.
Kepp it in the dojo.

Thursday 6th May 2004
Hey, just a quick update to thank all of you who came to our show at the YMCA last night. We apologize for the poor sound quality, it wasn't the best place to play but it was cool to have people skating and having a good time whilst we were playing so thanks for coming along :)

Don't forget to get your "scene" along to our shows, it's going to be brutal.

Monday 29th March
Hi kids. Sorry for neglecting the website for so long, we haven't been wiped off the face of the earth yet so don't worry. Right, first things first. We're back in the studio tomorrow to record a few more tracks. I'm hoping to re-record "Distorted Dreams" and lay down 2 new songs (well, I say new but we've been playing them for a year at least.) Also, we're doing the "talentSTAR" show at Moorside School again this year. It is held on the 28th of April. If you're going, prepare to be anhilated. We're going to be totally tragic, and try to win to get through the next round! I'd love to say we have some shows booked, but we haven't. I have been enquiring about playing some but I don't want to commit ourselves at this point in time because we've been busy with other stuff (Dan 's got his GCSEs so rehearsing has been very difficult.)
OK, that covers it. If you catch us live don't forget to say "hi." I'll post information on how to hear our new tracks once they're done.
       Laters! X Mikey X

Friday 2nd January
Heyhey! Happy new year, friends. 2004 will hopefully be a year of more cool gigs, and maybe some surprises! :) You HAVE to check out this band: www.everafta.co.uk They've added us to their links, which is supercool of 'em, so the least our crew can do is check them out! All the best, and stuff!
Mikey.

Thanks again!

Saturday 4th October
I'm not quite sure how.... but we've notched up some pretty impressive chart positions on SoudClick's alternative charts! The imaginary enemies stands at #195 (WOW) in the "Alternative General Charts" which includes 704 entrants, and it stamds at #687 in the "Alternative Charts" which includes 2325 entrants. Friday 3rd October
Hey. Looks like talk of the next "Rock Night" at Moorside School is emerging. If it's on, we expect it to be a week before Halloween which would provide a perfect chance to play our cover of the Misfits song, "Halloween." I'll keep you posted.
        Laters!

Saturday 13th September
Our self titled demo CD has been reviewed by the "Project Records" website. To see what they thought of it, visit www.projectrecords.co.uk and click, "reviews." Feel free to discuss their verdict, and your's in The Abyss forum!

Wednesday 10th September
Hey kids. Tonight, The Abyss begin rehearsing again. It's been a while since we played together, so the practice should be very useful. We hope to get some gigs very soon, but if you have any that you'd like us to be involved with, let us know.
       Thankoo!

Saturday 23rd August
Hey. We'd like to thank Dean from "Uncledad" for linking our website to his. To return the favour, we're doing the same:

Idiots are taking over.
Michael B.

Friday 1st August
We've done it, our first demo CD. The track list is:
1 - Distorted Dreams
2 - Brainstorm
3 - The Imaginary Enemies
If you'd like a copy of the CD, get in contact with one of us, and we'll sort it out. If you'd like to hear the tracks online, visit www.soundclick.com/theabyss . This page also features a free mp3 download of "Distorted Dreams" Why is it free to download? Well why not? We didn't pay anything to produce the demo, so it's only fair that we allow people to hear it, (or a track of it at least). Because of other commitments we have over the Summer period, The Abyss wont be in action for a while, but as we take a break you can still get in touch with us if you'd like to offer us an oppurtunity for a gig.
          Hope you enjoy the music!

Wednesday 30th July
Good news! The band are recording three tracks in a studio this Friday! This could mean the production of a demo CD, and we're very very excited about it! Check back soon for more details of what we have in store.

Monday 21st July
The Abyss have "approached" a recording studio company to record a demo, and are waiting for a response. We really hope they comsider us, as we can't to share our music with people further! We have tried to record a rehearsal, but sadly it didn't work anywhere near as well as we expected. Hope you bear with me with this one. I know a lot of are dying to hear us, and we'd love to have a recording to our name!
          Laters!

Thursday 10th July
Yo. Gig last night was pretty sweet! New stuff went down well. Another band called "This Is" also played, and I quite liked them! Here's their website address: www.this-is.tk Playing a little demonstration at a school again this Friday. It's Moorside Primary this time, so we probably wont have as much trouble with transporting equipment!
         "Merci beaucoup!"

Friday 4th July

Yeah, The show at the Grove was fun! Not our typical audience, but it was something right? We are going to be playing a show on a beach in Sunderland on the 9th of July. More details will appear as soon as we get our hands on it.

Wednesday 18th June
Yo. Tomorrow we're visiting The Grove Primary School, to persuade kids that they should come to our school.... whilst rocking their socks off at the same time. Of course we'll be visitng Leadgate, and a few others soon, so we'll keep you informed.

Thursday 12th June

Also, we're preparing for a mini tour of primary school demonstrations which begin next week. We'll be visiting both Leadgate primary and The Grove primary, and we're goin' to educate like no teacher ever could...... Also, talk of the next "Rock Night" has been surfacing. Except to see news of one on here very soon, we're coming to get you!
Peace out my friends......

Monday 9th June
Well, us "Abyss" types have been rather busy.... We've given our repetoire an overhaul, and it includes some impressive new stuff, as well as the odd modern rock cover to play at the end of our sets! For more info, click on, "The Music" at the side. That is all.

Friday 9th May
Just to let you know, you can now access this website by using the following URL:  www.abyssofficial.tk
Be sure to check out the new, improved biography for Michael B! He says you wont regret it......
Also, we're ready to start rehearsing again, and there's even more new stuff, so we're lookin' forward to our next shows! Expect a lot more violent behavior.....

Tuesday 1st April
Hey! We won the competition last night! Nah, April fool! We didn't win. We did however hold our own has the only rock act, and only real band, and we were also the only ones with original material, (a kickass rendition of "Once Upon A Reality") Well done to the winners though, you were great! You know who you all are! Backstage, we were freakin' everyone out with our bizzrare warm ups and cranky behaviour. I think we really made our mark there! Thanks to everyone who came down!

Friday 21st March
The gig last night? It was fantabulous! Thanks to all who came down, we had a rawkin' time! New stuff went down well too! Keep checkin' back, I'll give you more details on when the photos will be published! Also, Monday 31st March sees our next live appearance, as we complete in the "talentSTAR" live auditions. Remember to come on down, and watch us try to rock our way to victory!

Monday 10th March
The Abyss are pleased to confirm that along with "The Scare," they will be playing Castleside Social Club on the Thursday 20th March. Ticket information and the tines will appear here as the news is announced. The lads are set for another 2 rehearsals in order to prepare for a 10-song set, consisting of new material, and the fan's faves from the last shows. Be there, or we'll send to the boys 'round!

Friday 7th March
The next "rock night" this month could be held at Castleside Club. Check back soon.......

Tuesday 28th January
It has been confirmed that The Abyss are to take part in the "talentSTAR" live auditions. There is a chance that the lads can progress to the final at the Gala Theatre in Durham where the finalists battle it out to win a pretty attractive prize....... However, the lads aren't getting too excited. They'll be the only live rock act participating in the first leg (as yet) and they're probably going to look a little out of place! Still, it's another chance to reach out to people, and rock their socks off!

Monday 20th January
The Abyss have been rehearsing new material. There is set to be 3 brand new songs written by Michael B to be played, plus an "Abyss" style alternative rock cover verison of Enrique Iglesias' "Hero". It's all soundin' good, and the lads are looking forward to the next gig!
