Notes on FACWG Meeting July 5th

Matters Arising
Ro gave a report on The Forbes Files by Alison Alditch

Correspondence
Council notified FACWG re. intention to re join Arts Outwest
Heritage Meeting suggests workshop to priorities Action on the Draft Cultural Plan.
Action Taken
To write to the Heritage Meeting proposing the planning of a workshop next month.

Guests

Di Skinner gave an overview of The School of Music.
A suitable venue for events such as the Eisteddfod was the only problem cited.

Robyn Kenny gave a report on the activities of the Town Band and told how she encouraged the mothers of students to get involved by learning to play an instrument.

Patrick Diver,Andrew Glasson and Len Reade gave us some ideas for a project involving an amphitheater and interpretative path around the lake.  We thank them for their input and valuable ideas.
The FACWG will do all that is can to support the ideas of The Friends of Lake Forbes and assist in information concerning funding.

Other Business
Merrill talked about problems with the Forbesculturalplan website.  The site had extended its bandwidth and was unavailable to visitors 4 times in 90 days. This is not to do with hits to the website but downloading from it. If any one knows more about this could they explain it to the rest of us?

Double Bush Binding
Paul Wenz Exhibition planned for August 12th to September 1st.
Opening at the Mezzanine at 5pm.
French Breakfast and book reading in French & English on Sunday 13th
Possible Bookbinding Workshop in September.
Also Exhibition of Euraba paper and Artwork from Bogabilla.
More on this later.
