| Japanese Dolls and the celebration of the Boy's and Girl's Day Festivals | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| On the 3rd March the textile group met at a members home to celebrate the Japanese festival of "Girl's Day". As well as the vintage girl's day dolls, the hostess also displayed pieces that would be shown for "Boy's Day". The latter being celebrated on May 5th. |

| In her talk she discussed a little of the history of both these rites, as well as the development of the actual doll forms themselves. The morning finished with a question and answer session where people were able to find out more about the collection and restoration of the actual pieces. |
