7PM - 8PM....
Previously On 24 Jack gets Salazar to a plane, where he is knocked out, and Kim finds out that Gael is a mole. This episode seemed to lack pace, with the two action men (Jack and Chase) both spending the majoirty of the episode travelling in one form or another, a problem they did try and over come with a rather nice 'james bond esque' escape where Jack pretends to be convulsing and then snaps the guys neck wuth his feet. That was the single action moment of the episode and was reduced to be near meaningless by the time the episodes cliffhanger was revealed. Meanwhile, Jack Mark 2 followed a conveniently placed lead to find out where Jack and Salazar were heading. All the tension in the world couldn't really save the rest of the episode, which when you boil things down amounted to no more than padding and positioning of pieces so the writers could reveal a cliffhanger they were obviously so proud of. With Ramon also in a state of transit, the writers nearly lost there battle with cliches as they desprastaly gave him a distraction (in the form of dancing girls) in the hope giving the audience a believeable excuse why Jack wasn't dead the moment they were off the ground. For my liking, there were to many near misses as far as Ramon killing Jack went, they would have been better off having Jack doing his escaping and taking over the plane earlier, because Ramon is at his best when bringing Jack's attention to the fact that he's way in over his head. Hector still suffered from being away from the action, although this corrected itself when he met Ramon and Jack of the plane to deliver us the cliffhanger. Which was quite a shock, and the look on Ramon's face was priceless. Back at CTU, there was all manner of things going on, starting with Gael being caught as the mole he is(or was??), then being tortured (is that legal for american governemnt departments now??), then Tony coming out of surgery before making one of those famous 20 minute trips across LA to put a stop to the torture. I did find it a bit odd that Tony waited for part one of the cliffhanger to be revealed, before revealing the second part. Can you image what it must have been like in that room, Chappelle, Gael and Michelle all standing round while Tony waited for his cue. Seems a bit un-realtime, but never mind, i'll let it slide. Time checks Deadlines have come and gone. No new ones have emerged.
