1AM - 2AM....
Review late, I was doing so well, so my apologise, I could give you excuses about how I didn't get to see the episode until sunday and that I've had loads of work to do for college, but I reckon you'd probably just prefer me to get on with the review. This showed how creative the writers can be, I thought the computer virus, was a great idea, and a very evil thing that is very like nina, although nitpicks will ask why she waited until now to release this computer worm, it's one of those things I believe we can probably over look. Having Jack and Chase reunited really worked wonders for this episode, especcially for the development of Chase's character and motivation for his actions, the key scene for this was just after Jack had called tony about some guy called "alvers". Where they talked about the kind of choices and judgements that agents in there situations have to deal with everyday. Referencing the incident from an earlier episode when Jack was asked to shoot Chase, off course it was merely a test, and the gun wasn't loaded, Chase wasn't that happy about it, but he calmed down after Jack rightly pointed out, that there is more at stake than the lives of a few agents, intercepting the virus is the priority. One of the gems to come from this scene, was jack's line, "I probably would have done the same thing". Which ofcourse cements what viewers have been thinking for the past 13 weeks, chase is jack as he would have been 10 years ago. A word on Chloe, and the mutant monkey, this episode did the impossible, it reversed an opinion, that 4 or 5 weeks ago was set in stone. I actually like Chloe, I think she is probably one of the best, most interesting new characters of this series, and clearly showes what Paula could have developed into last series. The mutant monkey's father has turned out to be chase!!!, and boy is he gonna have some explaining to do when he gets back, kim is gonna be mmmaaaaddddd!!!!!, sure this storyline at first represented something they had stolen from eastenders, but now, I dunno, it seems to be fuelling office poilitics and personal relationship problems. The story itself stinks, but in an odd, kind of twisted way, what it could mean for the characters, could soon far outweigh the intial disapointment I had for this rather cumbersome storyline, if handled right. A word for david palmer???, why bother, he only had one scene, which was dominated by Sherry, so lets talk about her instead. The ability to talk people to death (quite literally), is not one which we should be surprised at, instead it is a rather usual tool in every modern day lady macbeth's weapons. But anyway, I reckon David wouldn't be having much more trouble from miliken. But then again?????. Not much else to say, enjoy tonights episode!!!! |
