The Liberty Aerospace XL-2, two place, 125 HP airplane is to be produced in Melbourne, Florida beginning in January 2003.

The materials used are steel, aluminum and composite. Each to its best use.

Nearly all other two place manufactured aircraft are designed to be training aircraft, but the XL-2 is designed to be a cross country cruiser. The XL-2 will have a fuel burn under 5 gallons per hour (economy settings) out of its 28 Gallon total capacity. The aircraft will carry 650lbs of useful load in a 48" wide cabin. Another interesting feature is that the engine is FADEC (single Power Lever) controlled. The aircraft will be certified IFR in the near future.
