Welcome To Our Humble Home
On a quiet residential street, an unsuspecting family receives a strange visitor at their front
door.... a gun-toting, paramilitary-type character who offers to come inside and
demonstrate the use of firearms to the family. After being swiftly chased away by an
understandably irate parent, "The Eliminator" finds a more socially acceptable means to gain
access to the house by appearing on the family's television screen.
By making effective use of their trademark visual humour, The Flying Spot Players once
again present a short drama that serves to question the values we place in aspects of
our popular culture.
Running Time: 5 min, 15 sec.
Original Format: DVCAM
Year Produced: 2001
Audio: Stereo (mono compatible)
This is our second production, completed in 2001. The 5-minute film looks at the
ubiquitous image of guns on television. It serves as an appeal for parents to be more
discriminating in their choice of family television programming.
This film has not been in circulation long, but has already been awarded a Diploma of
Merit in the 34th Melbourne International Film & Video Festival in Melbourne,
Australia.
