Agility
Agility is a fast moving, on the go sport. Since it was originated (in Great Britian). It was imported to the USA in 1977. This Dog related sport first was developed from equestrian events, using handling owner control. There are also now Dog and Poney Shows, which combines the quick thinking sport of Agility, and the grace of Equestrian. There are now people from all around the world taking place in this sport. There are many different kinds of obstacles. Contact Obstacles have a yellow zone on them, in which (in most trials) the dog has to touch to get full points. I'll get some pictures and descriptions of the obstacles up, once I have the stuff I need from our other computer. Also, all my obsticals aren't built yet! Please be patient! Until then, check out these Agility Websites, complete with discriptions of the obsticals... Candy's Canines Agility Bound Canines - this is actually writen by me! LOL Also, check out my Agility Madness!
| All the time there are new obsticals being created in the world of Agility! I would love to get some of these built, but first I have to get the more common obsticals built! I'm sorry not all of these pictures are taken by me! I haven't gotten all my equipment built yet, and I feel it isn't fair for me to keep you all waiting! As soon as I get each obstical finished, I will replace the picture on here of one of my own! The obsticals that ARE mine, the picture will have "S.S." in the bottom left hand corner! Thanks! | Teeter (Sea-Saw): The teeter is a contact obsitcal (the yellow zones painted). The Dog must walk up one end (touching the Contact Zone), find his "teetering" point; which is where the plank will tip. Once he finds this, he must wait for the plank to fall down, then exit the plank, touching the other contact zone. |
A-Frame: (sorry the picture's so dark, I will try to get a new one soon). The A-frame is a contact Obsitcal, consiting of two planks set up in an "A" shape. The Dog must enter the obstical by walking up one side of the frame (touching the contact zone), then exit by walking down the other side of the frame (touching the contact zone).
Dog-Walk: The dog walk is a contact obstical.
