If others around you are doing a thing, then you will be more likely to do a thing. The influence of others is extremely powerful. This pattern is most often seen in mobs, but it is not limited to mobs or even large groups.

The hardest part of this pattern is getting a group in the first place. Once you have a group that will do what you want, it's easy to get others into that group. To get a group in the first place, use the other techniques discussed on this website. Once you have this group, use the other techniques along with this pattern to manipulate who you want.

Many cults will use this pattern to solidify new members commitment to the cult. In this case, the size of the group can be much smaller, as long as there is no outside influence to distract the new members.

To increase the power of this pattern, limit the contact of outsiders to the new comers to the group. Use this pattern incombination with
consistency to drastically increase the power of both patterns.

The pattern:

1. Get a group of people together who will do what you want them to do. The larger the group the better, but also, the harder to control.

2. Invite others into this group and they will most likely will follow the rest of the group.

Hitler used this pattern extensively to take and hold power in Germany. For example, in a Nazi rally, when most of the people in the rally start screaming "Hail Hitler", it was very hard for those at the rally who didn't like Hitler to resist copying the rest of the group.
