FLOWERS FROM THE HEART

=====================================================================

Smiles

To the dear little grandchild Alexandre

When in my bed, at night,
I am thinking without sleeping,
My soul vacating worthless
Runs across thousand lucks...
Suddenly in Vesper shining,
I see you handsome smiling!...

And when the afternoon fleeing,
The sun sets to the West,
Unespectedly a beautiful smile
In the rosy lips, happy
You have, oh! sleeping angel...

Like featherless bird in the nest,
Misled, poor fellow sleeping,
I see him so beautiful among ermine,
So content, you open the eyes smiling.

In everything I see you love.
In the own smell of the flower.
In the light of the star shining,
In the white light of the moonlight.

In your Mother's lap,
Always content smiling,
Happy I see that picture,
Like a jewel of Ofir.
