James McCaleb WILKINSON ⁽¹⁵¹⁾ was born on 5 Jan 1790 in , Duplin, NC.⁽⁵¹⁾ He Deposition - WILL on 9 Sep 1815 in , Cumberland, NC.⁽¹⁵²⁾ He was in Court Record Probate of Uncle Samuel on 23 Mar 1841 in Franklin, St Mary Parish, LA.⁽¹⁵³⁾ He appeared on Census in 1850 in , Pike, AL.⁽⁵²⁾ He was in Court Record Conveyance - Jehu on 29 Apr 1853 in , St Mary Parish, LA.⁽¹⁵⁴⁾ He died on 29 Mar 1856 in , , AL.⁽⁵¹⁾ No death records! Probably died in Pike Co, as his son Wm J, seems to have lived there till just before 1860.. Conveyance Rec'd Barbour Co, AL p278 - 23 Jul 1838 Deed of Gift from James WILKERSON to son John-- personal property He was married to Charity WINDERS on 5 Nov 1812 in , , NC.⁽⁵¹⁾ Probably married in Duplin Co, as this is where all the WINDERS were located and from the Minutes of the Court, he was still living there in 1814.

49. Charity WINDERS was born on 28 Feb 1791.⁽⁵¹⁾ She died on 24 Dec 1836 in , , AL. may have died in GA Have NO proof that James and Anne are Charity's parents... Children were:

ii. Sarah WILKINSON⁽¹⁵⁵⁾ was born on 27 Jan 1815 in , , NC.⁽⁵¹⁾ She died on 31 Dec 1886 in , Cherokee, TX.⁽¹⁵⁶⁾
iii. Jehu WILKINSON⁽¹⁵⁷⁾ was born on 23 Dec 1817 in , , NC.⁽⁵¹⁾ Born in Cumberland Co or Duplin Co, NC. He appeared on Census in 1850 in , Pike, AL.⁽¹⁵⁷⁾ He appeared on Census in 1870 in , Barbour, AL.⁽¹⁵⁸⁾ He died after 26 Oct 1895 in Louisville, Barbour, AL.⁽¹⁵⁹⁾ May not have middle name with O C. This was written in very small letters above his name in the Bible. (FM)

John Owen Conley WILKINSON⁽¹⁶⁰⁾ was born on 15 Jul 1819 in , Cumberland, NC.⁽⁵¹⁾⁽¹⁶¹⁾ He appeared on Census in 1850 in , Barbour, AL.⁽¹⁶²⁾ Saga of Cherokee, Cherokee Co, TX 1889-1908 by CRAWFORD p38 He was in Court Record Bond for Administration on 23 Sep 1854 in , Barbour, AL.⁽¹⁶³⁾ He appeared on Census in 1860 in , Barbour, AL.⁽¹⁶⁴⁾ He appeared on Census in 1880 in , Cherokee, TX.⁽¹⁶⁵⁾ He died on 13 Jan 1900 in , Cherokee, TX.⁽¹⁶⁶⁾ He was buried in Mixon Cem, Mixon, Cherokee, TX.⁽¹⁶⁶⁾ Tombstone inscription from Cemetery At Present I am trying to figure out these 2 brothers (Jehu (O C) & John Owen C). I believe John was married to Nancy ?? by 1842.
In the 1850 Census Barbour Co, AL is J O C WILKINSON 30y w/wf Nancy 36 SC; ch - Elizabeth 7, Mary 4, Indianna 2 (all b AL).
In the 1860 Census Barbour Co, AL is J O C WILKERSON 40 w/wf Nancy 47 SC;
ch - Elizabeth 17, Mary 13, Sarah 12 & Amanda 7 (all b AL)
Don't find him in the 1870, although there is a Jehu 50 w/children, but children don't match, in Barbour Co.
If Nancy died between 1861 - 1863, their girls would have been old enough to marry and even if they didn't he still could have married Frances M BAYGENT in 1864 Pike Co, AL.
1880 Census Cherokee Co, TX John O C WILKINSON 60, w/wf Francis M 40y; ch Andrew J 12 AL & Evey H 10 AL ( so, they didn't leave AL till probably just before the 1870 Census.
