Peterborough (Apr 4th) -- The Fleming Women's Volleyball team announced their team awards for this past year at the annual awards banquet.

This year’s Knights continued to develop to their potential with a more focused philosophy, and with consistency at virtually every position the Knights showed much improvement throughout the season and quickly proved they belong with the elite teams within the OCAA.

This year’s Women’s Volleyball MVP is again All-Star Middle Jodi VanEngen. Jodi capped of one of the most successful individual efforts in the history of the program. Jodi was awarded the top scorer award for the OCAA East along with being named to the All-Star team. Perhaps Jodi's most spectacular recognition this year was being named to the Academic All Canadian Team for Women's Volleyball in the CCAA.

This year's winner of the Emma Valliant Rookie of the Year Award was given to Jenn Mundy. The 1st year middle was the runner up in OCAA East Rookie of the Year award and led all rookies in scoring. The program is looking forward to Jenn's contribution over the next couple of seasons.

This years Most Improved Award goes to Hillary Michalek. The first year outside hitter showed great improvements throughout the season.

The coach's award went to graduating outside hitter Sara Dodman. Her contribution over the last three sesasons have been immeasurable.The Fleming Athletic Department thanks all the players on a successful campaign and is looking forward to what the future holds in Women's Volleyball.
