About 70% of the territory is mountainous, mainly in the North and East. Along the Southern and Western coast, the montains gradually give way to vast plains. The majority of the rivers have their springs in the Northern and Eastern quadrants and flow to the Yellow and South Seas. Mainly concentrated on the South shore, there are up to 3.000 island of various sizes, which offer a scenary unmatched in the whole world. Also essencial, the major natural resources of the country are minerals, tungstein, charcoal and sand. |
