Now that hurricane season is officially over, we can take a deep breath and relax!  Amy stayed home with Coral today because she still had a fever.  Dan got his teeth cleaned at the dentist...they are all sparkly now!  And last but not least, Gene, Judy, Marie, and Dwain came for a visit...we got our first taste of the wedding video and pictures and stayed up late talking.

December 2, 2004
Coral went back to school today and Amy joined her afterwards to help with the GEMS spaghetti dinner.  After she volunteered for a few hours, she and Coral then came home and brought some of the spaghetti for the troops (the Florida and Pittsburgh Remberts & Gahagens).

December 3, 2004
Not much going on...Dan had a branch retreat at work and Jordan and Coral had the end of the week fun of gymnastics.  After we all got home, we enjoyed some "TV time" with the guests.

December 4, 2004
The girls (Judy, Marie, Amy, Coral and Jordan) went to the Dixie Stampede with Erin and Krista Shaffer for the lunch-time Christmas show.  To keep the Christmas festivities rolling, we had a dinner and presentation ceremonies later.  After the clean-up, movies and poker broke out.

December 5, 2004
Dwain and Dan spent most of the day with John, Frank, Chris, and Kenny (down from Evans City) in Jacksonville tailgating and attending the Steeler game, which came down to the wire and was won by the 11-1 Steelers by a score of 17-16!  Back at the ranch, there was some shopping and watching of the game that the guys missed...they were not too upset.

December 6, 2004
Dan came down with a "terrible sickness" while in Jacksonville and was "forced" to spend the night and call off work, but will probably be just fine with this day of rest.  Amy and the kids went on without Dan.  When Dwain and Dan got back, they found Marie, Gene and Judy sunning in the back by the pool and even convinced Dwain to take a dip during this warm-snap.  Later, we all met up at Chowders for a nice outside dinning experience.  After dinner and the kids' tubbies and were in bed, we had some ice-cream cake to celebrate Amy and Dan's upcoming B-days.

December 7, 2004
Happy 35th Birthday to Amy!!!
With our guests leaving today, we came home to an empty house to celebrate Amy's birthday with some cake and presents...nothing special at the request of the birthday girl.

December 8, 2004
We don't have much going on for now, but stay tuned another birthday and Christmas is coming.  We have a movie review for everyone...we watched "Something's Gotta Give".  Amy was excited about this movie, but quickly found herself asleep...4 "long winks".  Dan describes this movie as a geriatric "Sleepless in Seattle", only more disturbing with scenes that wakes him at night.

December 9, 2004
Everyone at Amy's work was out of the office today, so Amy finally joined Dan and some other coworkers for lunch.  That is were the excitement of the day ended.

December 10, 2004
The Christmas Season is in full bloom at KSC...many parties to attend and so little time.  Later, it was time for gymnastics (a party every week) to start.

December 11, 2004
When the gathering with the Shaffers fell through because of Erin's sickness, we enjoyed the cool, sunny day at the park after we did all our work of course.

December 12, 2004
After church and CCD for the ladies, Amy finished off the Florida Remberts' Christmas shopping for the season while Dan stayed close to the TV to track his fantasy football playoff game and Steeler game.  Good news: Steelers beat the Jets 17-6 and improved to 12-1 on the season and took home the AFC North Crown...Bad news: Dan lost his fantasy football game and will not be getting any extra money to help pay for all the gifts Amy purchased this year...oh well!

December 13, 2004
The weather is turning pretty cold (in Florida standards...lows in the upper 30s) over the next few days, which is helping us all get in the Christmas mood...but no snow!

December 14, 2004
The day was full of surprises for Coral...she was named the winner of the Silver Dollar Award for the month of December in her class and was also surprised to find her mom and dad (Amy and Dan) at the ceremony.  When we picked her up after school, she was surprised to find out that we were all going to Steak -n- Shake for dinner to celebrate this accomplishment.  After the kids were in bed, Dan and Amy watched "Bad Santa", which was an appropriate title...Amy gives it 2 1/2 "long winks".  Be careful if you have a problem with watching train-wrecks because there are some ugly sides of humanity here, but it is pretty funny once you get past that.

December 15, 2004
The curse is over...the curse is over!!!  No we are not talking about the Red Sox, Dan finally got "in the money" in a poker tournament!  He won second and couldn't be happier to get the monkey off his back.  Maybe next time he will win it all.

December 16, 2004
Dan and Coral took an afternoon trip to the dentist to get spacers...the first step to get her teeth corrected (there will be many entries like this over the next few weeks).  That was quick, only about 5 minutes, so we headed to the mall for some window shopping and kill some time.  Just a reminder, only one more shopping day left for Dan's birthday.

December 17, 2004
Happy Birthday to Dan!!!
Dan and Amy went out to lunch with a few people from work to celebrate the birthday-kid's birthday.  That is now 2 times in a row Amy has joined Dan for lunch...she is starting to slack-off just like Dan...woo hoo!  After gymnastics (the last of the year), we all went to Chili's to celebrate birthdays again...just for good measure.  Santa was also found there taking a break with Mrs. Claus for a quick dinner and then off to the North Pole for the final holiday push.

December 18, 2004
The first project we had was to get Zoey fitted for a collar, which prevented her from infecting her tail more...this is a very comical sight (the collar, not the tail).  We then packed everyone in the Caravan with their red shirts for a trip to the mall and a visit with Santa.  The picture turned out great and will be on the site soon!  We then made sure to get home in time to watch the Steelers win a close one against the Giants, 33-30, and to move to 13-1 on the season (their best record since 1978, 14-2).

December 19, 2004
Dan, Jordan, and Coral went to church and CCD/Publix in the morning.  Later, we had the Shaffers over for a nice visit of lots of fun, food, and football!

December 20, 2004
Another back to the grind daythis one has a happy holiday feel to it, so it shouldn't be too bad!

December 21, 2004
After work, Amy and the rest of the RehabWorks gang had their mini holiday party at Erik's house with gift exchanges and festive foods.

December 22, 2004
We are getting excited about Christmas coming with only 3 sleeps leftwoo hoo!  Dan and Amy watched "Elf" after the kids went to bed (they already watched it on Saturday while the parents were out for their birthday dinner date).  Dan enjoyed it as a good holiday movie much more than Amy she gives it 3 "long winks".

December 23, 2004
Today was the last work day before the short Christmas break for Dan and Amy, so they went out to lunch with a few friends from work.  Later, Dan entered himself into a rather large poker tournament of 15 people (2 tables full) and did pretty good by outlasting 12 of them and ended up in the 3rd place money...woo hoo!

December 24, 2004
Today we all relaxed and enjoyed the day off for most of the day.  As usual, we all attended evening mass to celebrate the reason for the season, but so did everyone else in the St. Mary's community.  Church was so crowded and Ian didn't last the entire time, so Amy took him outside mid-way through.  After church, we continued our Christmas Eve tradition by driving past the "neighborhood of lights", which helped us get more in the Christmas mood.  Then we got our pizza and then home to where we opened one present, put out the cookies and milk, and read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas before bedtime.

December 25, 2004
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!!
To keep up with the Rembert traditional Christmas, we had another traditional Christmas day.  We stayed in our PJs and opened and played with gifts all day.

December 26, 2004
After a rainy Christmas day, we took advantage of a nice day and did some outdoor activities around the house like riding bikes.  The great outdoors were interrupted by the indoor activity of watching the Steelers wrap up home-field advantage throughout the playoffs by beating their arch-rivals the Ravens and moving to 14-1 on the season.

December 27, 2004
What was supposed to be a back-to-work-and-daycare day turned into a stay-at-home-and-be-sick day for Dan and the kids.  Actually just Dan, Coral, and Jordan were sick with colds, Ian stayed home to play and relax a little.

December 28, 2004
Sicknesses continued, so did the vacation for Dan and the kids while Amy was forced to go be the breadwinner.  Dan used this time to catch-up on the Tivo movies, but there are too many to critic without Amy's approval.

December 29, 2004
Dan decided that he might as well use some vacation time to save money on daycare and plus you can't measure the value of bonding with the kids while playing with their cool Christmas gifts.  Later, Dan and Amy watched "Mystic River" to celebrate her last day of work for the year.  Amy enjoyed the movie and gives it 1 "long winks", but Dan had a problem with the ending, which was a twistotherwise it was a pretty good, star-studded movie.

December 30, 2004
Amy took the day off, so we decided to have some fun on this gorgeous Florida afternoon.  We all took a trip to the beach for a few hours and called people up north to rub it in.  Later, Dan went to his bi-weekly poker game and won some cashhope this winning streak stretches into next year!

December 31, 2004
Another day offAmy took Jordan and Coral to use some of their Christmas money and then to Publix to fight the holiday-crowd for some food, but the fun really started after the kids were in bed and Dan and Amy played drinking games to amuse themselves until the ball dropped.
