Happy New Year!!!
After everyone woke up from last-night's party, we helped the Shaffer's ring in the New Year in style.

January 2, 2005
We all slept in and skipped church today because this was the last day of the big holiday vacation (some bigger than others).  We also decided it was the last day for Zoey to have the collar, so that was taken off (Zoey was happy and showed her appreciation by scratching every square inch of her head that she was unable to touch earlier).  In order to go against the "last" trend, the Steelers had to have a "first"they beat the Bills with their "second team" (most of the starters didn't play most of the game) and became the first AFC team to go 15-1 in the regular season (Miami's perfect season was with a 14-0 record, which the Steelers also accomplished after going 1-1 in the first 2 weeks of this season).
Now it is time for the playoffs to startwoo hoo!

January 3, 2005
Everyone was not happy to get back to the grind in a big way after taking a long time for relaxation,
but it had to happen sometime.

January 4, 2005
Not much going on, still adjusting to life at work and daycare.

January 5, 2005
Well, to start off the year on a little bad note...we had our water heater checked this morning because it is leaking and it needs to be replaced because it is getting old.  It could be worse.

January 6, 2005
Just to make sure that we don't have to spend more money, we took the Caravan to get the fluids checked at an auto shop we trust (mainly because the dealership said that they all needed to be replaced when we took it in for an oil change), but the good news is everything is just fine...woo hoo!  Speaking of maintenance, new for the year 2005, Dan redesigned the Home Page, which we are sure you saw on the way in to the diary to read all about our exciting lives.

January 7, 2005
With the first week under our belts, it was nice to have Friday here!  Coral and Jordan had gymnastics and we looked into getting Ian signed up soon, but first he has to turn 3 and be potty trained (we think...well we know about the age thing, it's the other thing we're not sure of).  Later, Dan did continue his winning streak at poker and came home with a little extra cash.

January 8, 2005
Amy started the day off by finally using her gift certificate to La Bella Spa from Christmas 2003.  After she got all relaxed with her massage, she could now do some food shopping and gift returning.  Now that the holidays are over, it was time to clean up the decorations, so we spent most of the day getting them down and boxed for next year.

January 9, 2005
After church for Amy, Coral, and Jordan and CCD for Coral, we got right back to work on the remodel of the main bathroom.  Later after we got the room and ourselves all cleaned up, Dan and Amy went to their "Awards Banquet" for the entire LSSC contract...they don't give awards and because it is a contract for the federal government, they aren't allowed to call it a Christmas or holiday party, so there you have the history behind the name and date of the party.

January 10, 2005
Well the sickness from 2-weeks ago finally caught up with poor little Ian.  We got a call today from daycare to pick him up at around 3...guess he put up a good fight.

January 11, 2005
Amy and Ian stayed home and found out that Ian has a double-ear infection.  While they were home trying to promote healthier living for Ian, we got a new water heater installed.

January 12, 2005
Today it was Dan's turn to hang out with the sick-boy, Ian.  He is getting much better (Ian, not Dan...there is no help coming for him in our life-time).

January 13, 2005
Rest in Peace, Rich...
Coral had more trouble with her "appliance" so she made a trip back to the dentist and had it removed to be adjusted yet again...let's hope this is the last time for that.

January 14, 2005
After the big lunch at El Leoncito's for both Dan and Amy, there was not much else going on other than gymnastics on this Friday.

January 15, 2005
We did some work on the bathroom before the big task of the day later in the afternoon...the first Steelers playoff game of the 2004 season!  It was a close one that the Jets almost pulled off.  If it weren't for some bad field goal attempts, we would be talking about how sad we were after the game.  But the Steelers won it in overtime 20-17 and will be hosting the AFC Championship game next week...
let's hope our Steelers learn from this game.

January 16, 2005
We all slept in too late to go to church, but not too late for Coral to go to CCD and for Amy to go to Publix.  But the rest gave Dan and Amy plenty of energy to prime the walls in the bathroom...now all we need to do is pick out the color(s).  Today we found out that the Steelers will have a rematch with
the Patriots in next week's game.

January 17, 2005
Happy MLK Day!!!
Dan went on his annual trip on the gambling boat today.  The first game he played, video poker, he won $35 in about 5 minutes and the rest of the day he broke even...he could have just stopped after that first game and done the same (winning $35 for the day), but he wouldn't have this cool story to tell everyone.  Amy and the kids went to the Shaffer's to enjoy this nice crisp day.

January 18, 2005
The big news this week as we head back to work, school and daycare is the cool temps...this looks like that one week out of the year here in Florida where it is cold and then we get back to normal.

January 19, 2005
Today was the day of fieldtrips for Coral and Jordan.  Coral went on a boat and looked at wildlife on and around the rivers and learned about endangered species.  Jordan and her classmates went on a trip to "Jungle Adventures" were she pet an alligator and then put her head in its mouth...take it easy, its mouth was taped shut, so only the professionals did the stunts.

January 20, 2005
The days of rain inside our garage and wet-vacuuming the water out of our carpet on the garage floor are soon going to be over...the roofers started work today!!!  Woo Hoo!

January 21, 2005
After work, school, daycare and even gymnastics, it was time for Dan to get back to his normal, losing ways in the normal poker game and he did...oh well, you can't win them all.

January 22, 2005
We started our day off with getting the bathroom covered with taupe paint (on purpose)...the room looks nice, but there is still work to be done to complete it.  While the painting was going on, the roofers came by and had a pleasant surprise for us...they completed their work!  Now we have a leak-proof roof!  Later, Dan and Amy got all cleaned up for a date with John, Krista, Shannah, David, and David's brother, Nathan, and his wife, Andrea.  We all met and ate at Carrabba's and then went to Shannah and David's tiki bar for a night cap...all except Nathan and Andrea.

January 23, 3005
After church, CCD and Publix for Amy, Coral and Jordan, we did some more painting in the bathroom.  Later we got cleaned up for the big Steeler game, which turned into a bigger disappointment.  The Patriots won again and put the season to an end for the Steelers.

January 24, 2005
Well, what comes around, comes around again and againCoral was not feeling herself at school and by the time bedtime came, she had a fever again.  Here comes the sickness trainwoo woo.

January 25, 2005
Dan and Amy did the ol' "split the day" thing to stay home with the sick girl, Coral.  Coral also had an appointment to get her "appliance" put back in, which Amy took her to in the morning, and we will be keeping an eye on it this time.  Later, Dan had the draft of his players for this year's t-ball team.  His first round pick of the 2005 season was Jordan Rembert!

January 26, 2005
With Coral back in school and healthy, the big news of the day was the completion of the bathroom remodel...it looks good and if you hurry, maybe you will get to see the work!

January 27, 2005
Not much to report on the home front except a quick visit from a new friend, Dan.  At KSC, it was NASA Remembrance Day for all of the fallen heroes of NASA.

January 28, 2005
Not much to report on the home front...we had an exciting evening of gymnastics, that's it.

January 29, 2005
We decided to make this weekend a weekend filled with the fun of spring cleaning.  It started off in the family room and because we finally got a roof over the garage, we cleaned that completely out with all the damaged goods being put to the curb.  While the entire day was spent cleaning, Amy and Coral were able to fit in a trip to get Coral's hair cut.

January 30, 2005
Because yesterday was supposed to be rainy and it wasn't (damn meteorologist), the outside work was saved for today after Dan, Coral, and Jordan returned from Church, CCD, and Publix.  While they were away, Amy and Ian started in the back yard and then we all completed everything we wanted and got to spend time outside in the perfect weather.  Later after we were done with everything, we got a surprise visit from Kristie and Trenton.

January 31, 2005
Well the rollercoaster ride started today with Coral's softball team starting practice.  It was a pretty slow start to the season, but it will get wilder...just wait 'til tomorrow.
