This was one crazy day!!!  It started off with Amy working the early shift to leave early get Ian and Jordan for a check of Ian's hearing...more on that one later.  Dan took a break from work right after arriving to go catch Coral class do a presentation of the solar system and all the planets.  Coral and her partner were Earth and she read interesting factoids on everyone's favorite planet.  Now back to the doctor's for Ian hearing check-up...it turns out that after they took our co-pay and walked everyone into the room that they don't perform hearing tests on kids until they are 5 years old.  This meant everyone had to back it up and come back in 2 years.  After that fiasco, it was time for dinner and then off to the ball fields for Dan and Jordan's first day of practice.  There are all new girls on the team this year and practice was helped by the old pro, Coral and went very well...should be a fun year with the Dolphins this year.  At least the Dolphins are guaranteed to be the champs or runners-up with only 2 teams in t-ball this year...woo hoo!

February 2, 2005
Coral had her 2nd practice this evening and she is playing very well with one year under her belt.  We also got some great news on the VEGAS front, our first RSVP for the trip...WOO HOO!

February 3, 2005
Dan and Amy enjoyed their lunch together and signed papers to put our house up for sale!!!!  (This is a fact that was kept secret until we got an offer on the house and now is told to all who read this.)  Later, it was t-ball time for Dan and Jordan and the rest of the team with another good practice.  This year's team is not a shy group like last year...they fight over the ball.

February 4, 2005
This TGIF started off with the typical Dan taking Jordan and Ian to gymnastics, but Coral went to her friend's after school and for dinner.  Once Dan left gymnastics for another loss at the poker table, Amy, Jordan and Ian went to dinner together and then they picked up Coral.

February 5, 2005
Dan and Amy went on their first house-hunting trip for a new house in Merritt Islandnothing special yet and a lot more work to be done on this front (this was a secret at the time of original posting).  Later, Jordan had a birthday party for her friend Alyssa, so Amy took her to that and fun was had by all.  After the kids went to bed, Dan and Amy watched "Along Came Polly".  It was pretty good if you have nothing better to watch, which we didn't and there were some funny parts...
Amy gives it 3 "long winks".

February 6, 2005
This was a distressing Super Bowl Sunday, but life goes on...anyway, Amy, Jordan and Coral did the typical church/CCD/Publix thing and got some stuff for the game.  The rest of the afternoon we did some cleaning and work around the house.

February 7, 2005
The nice relaxing weekend is over and now it was time to get back to work, school and daycare...afterwards Coral had softball practice and then a ceremony at church to prepare the kids for their first Penance and first Eucharist.

February 8, 2005
Happy Mardi Gras!!!
Jordan's practice was run by all the assistants (the other parents) because Dan was stuck in a board meeting for the league almost the entire time...fun, fun, fun.

February 9, 2005
Happy Lenten Season!!!
As tradition goes, we will now run down the things we will be giving up this year...Dan will be giving up random wrestling with strangers because the last few fights he lost and had to relinquish his belt, Amy will be giving up motocross because the dust was making her hair unmanageable, Coral will be giving up skydiving because bugs were getting in her new appliance, Jordan will be giving up the rodeo because wild horses are just "not her thing", and Ian will be giving up jousting because the splinters were starting to hurt.  Other than our restraints and Coral's softball practice, it was a boring day.

February 10, 2005
Ian had an appointment for speech and hearing testing this morning because for a kid that is almost 3, he don't have much to say.  It turns out he is just quiet and doesn't have much to say because his hearing is just fine and he doesn't have a speech impediment.  Jordan's t-ball skills are slowly improving, but Dan's coaching skills are being put to the test this year because of the larger size of the team and the determination shown by the playerssome one is going to get killed out there with the bodies flying everywhere!

February 11, 2005
With this long week coming to a close, it will be nice to have a weekend filled with not much to do!  But before we get there, Coral and Amy had their Love Bug Bash as GEMS, which turns out to actually be a blast (according to Coral) and then there was gymnastics for Jordan and Coral.

February 12, 2005
With record lows in the area of near freezing temperatures, we spent most of the day inside but did some minor work outside and around the house.  Later, Dan and Ian got hair cutsIan's is as short as ever and Dan just got the sides and back cut for a change.

February 13, 2005
After church and CCD/Publix for Dan, Coral and Jordan and a quick morning visit from Kristie and Trenton so the boys could play together, we had a visit with the Shaffers.  Right after arrival, Ian's tummy was upset and was emptied of the contents on the Shaffer's front lawn.  Amy took him home and returned after he had a chance to relax and feel better and just in time for dinner.  The rest of the evening, he ran around with the kids and was just fine.  Later, Dan and Amy watched a romantic movie, "The Notebook" for a special Valentine's treat.  Amy really enjoyed this sad love story
and gives it 2 1/2 "long winks".

February 14, 2005
Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Each of the kids had a party at school with the traditional exchanging of mini-cards and treats.  After softball practice and dinner for the kids, Dan and Amy enjoyed their peaceful dinner together for their annual treat of their own.

February 15, 2005
Jordan and Dan had their t-ball practice this evening, but that was where the excitement of the day reached its pinnacle.

February 16, 2005
This was a big day for Jordan...while Dan and Coral were at softball practice (which was after a nice meal at Beef O'Brady's for GEMS family night), Jordan got her first official hair cut.  It is cut a little shorter in the back, but now has bangs and looks a lot like Coral's hair.  She now looks like a big-girl and is ready to go to kindergarten at Coral's school!

February 17, 2005
Other than the raging "control burn" at work, formation class for Coral's first communion where they practiced taking the bread and wine for the first time, and t-ball practice, there is not much else that we can talk about at this time to all the viewers out there.  And now for the stuff we couldn't originally broadcastwe got our first showing of our house today so hopefully an offer is not too far away.

February 18, 2005
Dan and Amy booked their flights to VEGAS Baby!!!  Now it is time to start celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary.  After gymnastics, Dan got back on his winning ways at poker while Amy and the kids had some popcorn and relaxed with a movie.

February 19, 2005
We did some cleaning around the house and took a couple walks to get out of the house while people looked our house over and we took in the beautiful weather of this perfect Saturday afternoon.  Later, Dan and Amy watched a couple movies off of Tivo.  We watched "50 First Dates" and "Under the Tuscan Sun".  Amy liked the Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore love-story reunion better than the Diane Lane finds herself, feel good movie, but enjoyed the evening of movies.  She gives them 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 "long winks", respectively.

February 20, 2005
It was Amy's turn to escort Jordan and Coral to church and do the CCD/Publix weekly trip.  After that, we had our Open House and the Shaffers were kind enough to open their house up to us for the second week in a row as we all played and sat outside.  Later, it was Tivo movie night again to watch the overly convoluted who-dunnit movie "The Big Bounce".   Amy and Dan both agreed that while the star-power was there, the plot was not4 1/2 "long winks".

February 21, 2005
Happy President's Day!!!
We got our first offer on the house todaywoo hoo!  We enjoyed the rest of the day-off as we spent it in the sun at the beach.  For the third night in a row we watched a movie and worked on clearing the "Now Playing" list off of our Tivo.  Tonight it was the mildly funny and entertaining "Welcome to Mooseport"Amy gives it 2 1/2 "long winks".

February 22, 2005
We got back to work, school, and daycare today and even back to the fields for Jordan and Dan's t-ball practice.  Ian wasn't feeling good at the end of the day so he and Amy left early to rest up.  Dan and Amy also worked on fine-tuning the offer on the house to get it finalized.

February 23, 2005
Ian stayed home today because of a feverwe are not sure what he is sick from, but we had to keep him from school.  This meant that Dan and Amy split the dayAmy got the morning and Dan got the afternoon at home.  Dan didn't spend too much time at home, he and Ian were out getting a new dishwasherno, not a Mexican to stay with us and wash dishes each night, a dishwashing machine.  Now Dan has to install it, which is the hard part.  Coral did well at her dentist visit, the mouth-appliance is doing a great job, but her practice was cut short because of rain.  The evening was full of bad newsthe dishwasher is not working properly, so Dan has to fiddle with that and we put in an offer on a house that got rejected, so back to looking for a new house.

February 24, 2005
Ian was back in school, but became sick again at the end of the day.  Practice was just a simple passing out of the uniforms and see you on Saturday for the opening ceremonies.  And now for more news on the home-search front (the stuff not found in the original posting)we got the contract signed and finalized and then found a home that we want to put an offer in for, so things are moving quite fast (this offer was not put in because some one beat us to the punch).

February 25, 2005
Ian stayed home again today and Dan and Amy split time again today.  Dan did get the dishwasher working properly, so that is one less task to take care of today.  With the latest house offer falling through, we took some time away from placing house offers for a day and just did our simple weekly ritual of getting Coral and Jordan to gymnastics.

February 26, 2005
Today was the big opening ceremonies for Merritt Island Lassie League and things went great.  Dan went early to help set-up.  Dan and Jordan's team, the Dolphins, got their picture taken first, then it was over to the field for introductions for every one, then bat-arounds for Coral and Jordan's teams, then a quick break (which Dan and Amy used wisely to look around for a house), and then finally Coral's team, the Flamingos, had another bat-around.  After we were done with all that and lunch too, it was time to look at another house for the second time around.  We liked it so much we put another offer in and we will see what happens with this one tomorrow.  We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening catching our collective breaths at home.

February 27, 2005
Dan, Coral, and Jordan went to church in the rain.  Amy and Ian were forced out of the house for our house sale's inspection.  Dan and Jordan met Amy and Ian at Publix while Coral was at CCD.  We came home to find the house inspection was still continuing as was the rain.  Once we got all the groceries and every one in the house and the cars in the garage, it was time to pick up Coral.  Then the great NEWS just kept coming.  First the house inspection passed and the new owner was happy and then we received a call that said our offer was accepted and we are going to be moving to Merritt Island at the end of this month!!!  The rest of the day was spent calling our families to let them in on our little secret and coming to the realization that we have less than 5 weeks to move!  If you would like to go back to read what was not published previously about our house adventures, it all starts on January 27th.  Happy catching-up!

February 28, 2005
Today was Coral's first official game...she got 2 hits and played short-stop and catcher (her dad played a little catcher at that age, so that was nice to see).  We all showed up to watch the game, but the fun started right before the game...with the heavy rains yesterday; you can imagine the drainage issues.  Well Ian found out first hand as Dan was yelling, "Ian, NO get away from there!!!"  The next thing you know, Ian takes a picture-perfect header right in the middle of the mud and ends up covered in it...good thing Amy brought a change of clothes.
