| Here is what is going on with the Florida Remberts |
| December 1, 2002 Dan spent the day in Jacksonville for the Steeler game, while Amy spent the day on the phone and shopping with the kids...all the things that make Dan crazy. December 2, 2002 Back to the grind of work, school and daycare. Some quick news about the seating arrangements in the new van...Jordan and Ian have both moved up to the next level in car seats...woo hoo! December 3, 2002 After work, school and daycare, we came home to visitors from the north...Amy's grandmother came down to meet her great-grandson and brought her sister and daughter with her. December 4, 2002 Dan spent the day in Orlando for some training and came home to find nothing out of the ordinary had happened while he was away (see previous entries for the kind of stuff that happens...for example, Ian was born the day Dan was in training in Orlando). December 5, 2002 Amy, Jordan, and Ian stayed home from work and daycare to visit with Sandy, G.G., and Aunt Lillian. Coral and Dan did their normal routine and then went to gymnastics. December 6, 2002 After work, school, and daycare, Dan got an evening out of the house, so Amy and the girls could do some more catching-up. Dan took the time to go on the gambling ship and started the streak back up by taking some of the money he lost last time back. December 7, 2002 Happy 33rd Birthday to Amy!!!!!!!! Today was a very busy day! First we all went to Coral's first parade...she joined the rest of her Daisy troop in the Merritt Island Christmas Parade. Then we went to Steak -n- Shake (Amy's family loves this place). Later on Dan and Amy went out for diner and dancing with John and Krista in Orlando...we all had a blast and Amy enjoyed her birthday celebration. December 8, 2002 After the night out, we couldn't get modivated to go to church, so Coral only went to CCD. Dan went to see the Steelers play poorly. Later, Amy and the three ladies went to diner at Carrabbas, while Dan and the kids stayed home and watched Christmas movies and had pizza. December 9, 2002 Once the house was returned back to normal and visitor-free, we went to work on getting our Christmas cards ordered. We also had to get a new internet service provider (ISP) because of the sale of our previous provider (MPInet) and the ensuing rising costs of the take-over company (Earth Link). We are proud to announce that we are now with 650 Dialup and our new e-mail address is [email protected]. December 10, 2002 Only one shopping-week left until Dan's Birthday! After work, school and daycare, Amy went out for dinner with Mary from work and some others, while Dan and the kids watched more Christmas videos to get in the mood. December 11, 2002 Not much to report here in Florida, but there was some very exciting NEWS from the Pittsburgh Area...Dan and Amy's close friends Eric and Becky had their son, Parker Lewis, just about 8 weeks early (due February 10th). Mom is doing good and Parker has to do some growing, but with God's help, he should be just fine. December 12, 2002 After work, Dan and Amy had a parent-teacher conference with Mr. Giddy. He had only good things to say about Coral...she is doing good and is above average in all her learning skills and is even doing good in her social skills. So eventhough she may be shy with adults, she isn't with the other kids. Dan and Amy were both very proud of her in the meeting and very happy to see she is doing great in her "new" school and with kindergarten (the most important grade of all). December 13, 2002 After work, Dan and Amy went to the LSSC Holiday Party...like 2 years ago, it was a Luau Theme, so we put on our flowered-outfits and took a trip to the Islands. It was nice that we both are on the same contract and we both know the people instead of one of us talking to the people from work while the other sits there and doesn't know anyone. December 14, 2002 After Coral, Jordan and Amy got back from gymnastics, we went to the Merritt Square Mall to visit with Santa. Because Jordan didn't want to sit on Santa's lap, we all got in on the picture. As it turns out, this is possibly the best family picture that we ever took (with the exception of the Asian Santa)...people in line were even making comments to us on how good we looked! It will be up on the site soon. December 15, 2002 We all went to church this morning to practice for the big day next week and because Coral had a CCD program after church. After the program, we all got in the mini-sleigh to do some holiday visiting...Nancy, a former co-worker of Dan's from Pittsburgh, was visiting her brother, who also works at KSC. So, we spent the afternoon meeting and catching-up with them. December 16, 2002 One more shopping day until Dan's birthday!!! Back to the grind of Monday, but that's alright because it's the holiday season! December 17, 2002 Happy Birthday to Dan, happy birthday to Dan, happy birthday dear Da-an, happy birthday to Dan!!! Woo Hoo!!!! Yes, today is the 13th anniversary of Dan's 21st birthday! Dan and Ian had to go to the doctor's for Ian's 9 month check-up...he is doing great and only had to get one shot. He is now up to 20 lbs 4 oz and 27 inches long or tall. After Amy and Coral got home, we all went to Chili's to celebrate the great day. The funny thing was, it must have been national birthday day at Chili's because there were 2 other people sitting in our section also celebrating their birthdays. Make sure to check out the Christmas picture on the Main Page. December 18, 2002 Today was Diasy day for Coral...not much else to report. December 19, 2002 Coral had a half day of school, so Amy picked her up after her party and took her to Sherri's house to join Jordan and Ian. After we all got home, it was a quick dinner, bathtime, and then off to bed for the kids, so Dan and Amy could watch the 3-hour "Survivor" grand-finale. December 20, 2002 Dan, after work, join his co-workers for a little Christmas get-together at the port...Amy was invited, but she didn't feel like it, so she got the kids and headed home. December 21, 2002 Amy, Coral and Jordan did the gymnastics thing and then got home so Dan could finish the door to the garage project (once again, that is not the garage door). December 22, 2002 No Steeler game and no CCD, so it was a lazy day of playing and getting ready for Christmas. Later, Amy wrapped gifts while Dan baked some pies for tomorrow's party. December 23, 2002 Amy and Dan both went to work for just one day, so that meant that Coral, Jordan and Ian spent the day at Tiny Treasures of Joy Daycare. After the necessary evil was done, we went to John and Krista's for a little holiday party and in good Florida-style, we had mexican food. There was also plenty of desserts (pies that Dan made) and cookies. We left at 8:30 to get home to watch the Steelers dominate the Bucs on Monday Night football and win the inaugural AFC North Division Championship and get into the playoffs. December 24, 2002 Day off for all, so we listened to Christmas music, wrapped presents, did some final shopping, and general laziness. In the late afternoon, it was time to get ready for church, so we turned on the air-conditioning, because of the heat, and went to town on the Christmas outfits. Church was nice and crowded. Then we did our traditional go to see the pretty Christmas lights and pick up our pizza. To continue the traditional stuff, we then put out cookies for Santa and reindeer food for Rudolph and went to bed on the most magical night of the year. December 25, 2002 Merry Christmas to all and to all a good day!!! Today was easy to sum up...relaxing! We also had lots of fun opening and watching and playing with the gifts. Egg nog was drank, turkey was ate, and p.j.s were kept on all day! We love and miss our families greatly, but one really nice thing about being on your own, no stress of traveling from house to house, hoping you don't get in trouble for poor time management. December 26, 2002 Another relaxing day...we didn't have to go to work or daycare again today, so we continued the fun of Christmas by doing much of the same things. December 27, 2002 Back to work and daycare...this is the best kind of schedule...work a week, off two days, work a day, off three days, work a day, off two days, work a day off two days, work two days, off two days...now that's the life. On this sort of lazy day, Dan, Amy and Mary went to Grills for lunch and sat outside and it was a little cool, but beautiful. December 28, 2002 We met the Shaffers and the Klines at KARS Park so the kids could get out of the house and run around for a little while and then Dan and Coral went back to John and Krista's for the Eagles game. Later, Amy brought pizza for us all. December 29, 2002 The last day of football season, so Dan stayed home to watch all the pre-game stuff and Coral and Amy went to church. After church, they stopped by Wal-Mart to get Coral a new bike with the money from Grandma and Pap and Pap Manion. Of course, when they got home we pumped up the tires and adjusted the seat so she could ride it around the neighborhood. The Steelers won, so they head into the playoffs with some momentum and have to play the Browns next week. December 30, 2002 Back to work and daycare, but only for a day. December 31, 2002 Amy had to work half of the day and then it was time to get ready for the new year! We mainly played games and watched TV until the kids went to bed...then we played games and watched TV and rang in the new year. |
