| Here is what is going on with the Florida Remberts |
| November 1, 2005
After Halloween, it is nice to have a calm evening to eat all the candy. November 2, 2005 It was a busy night of soccer playingJordan had a make-up game because of all the rain we had a few weeks ago and Coral had her normal practice and they were on two different fields. After the soccer was over, we all met back at the house to eat dinner. Later, Dan and Amy watched Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, which arrived in the mail today. You all know Dans stand on the movie, now Amy added her $0.02she said it was a bit slow in the middle, but a good, entertaining movie otherwise, the ended sure kept her awake. She gives it 2 1/2 long winks. November 3, 2005 After we all got settled in for the evening, Erik and Jen brought Chloe and celebrated their anniversary in peace. Later, Dan tried to make it 3 in a row at poker, but missed the cut by one player...next week it will be the real thing on the gambling boat with Timmy, maybe then the luck will hit and we will both walk off the boat with millions. November 4, 2005 After the gymnastics fun was over, Amy joined a few friends to celebrate Shannah's new job...Dan was not invited because if was girls only, but you'd better believe he tried. We also got some great NEWS from the Shaffers this afternoon! November 5, 2005 The day started off quietly, but in the late-morning/early afternoon hours the day quickly turned into a logistical nightmare...Dan took Jordan to her game in Merritt Island and Amy took Coral to her coach's house in Merritt Island who then took Coral to her game in Rockledge. After she dropped Coral off, Amy then took Ian to a birthday party in Merritt Island. After Jordan's game, Dan and Jordan went to Coral's game and caught half of the game. We all returned home at about 3 PM. The rest of the day was spent working in the yard. November 6, 2005 Because we completed the yard work yesterday, we finished the house work today...this must mean the guests are coming. The Steeler's game was a nice break in between chores and the 11th road win at Green Bay. It was also a nice break to eat the test-run turkey dinner. November 7, 2005 After bedtime for the kids, the Marshalls arrived at the Copperfield Cottage and became the first guests to stay more than a night with the Florida Remberts. We got to meet Cameron for the first time and then spent some time and caught up with Tim and Marcy. November 8, 2005 After work and school, we took the guests out to one of our favorite spots, Grills, which just happens to also be a good tourist spot. This officially welcomed them to Florida and gave the kids a chance to get better acquainted. November 9, 2005 The Marshalls spent the day at Disney World's Magical Kingdom. Dan and Amy took the opportunity to visit Jordan and Coral at school and have lunch with them. Later, Dan and Jordan took Coral to soccer practice...Jordan played on the playground set and got some exercise. November 10, 2005 After work, Dan took Tim to his happy place, the gambling boatunfortunately Dan didnt find it so happy this time and lost all his money (Tim faired a little better, but didnt take any extra green stuff home). Amy and Marcy took the kids to McDonalds for dinner and playtime and then stayed up talking almost until Dan and Tim got home. November 11, 2005 Happy Veterans Day!!! The Marshalls and the Remberts packed up the vans and headed over to Orlando for some fun times at Sea World. We all had fun on this perfect day for all the shows and sights to see. November 12, 2005 After all the fun and excitement of getting out on the town yesterday, we relaxed by the pool with some ritas and snacks while the kids took an occasional jump in the cool water of the pool. Later, Amy and Marcy shopped, talked, and ate the evening away while the guys held the helm. November 13, 2005 For the second week in a row, Amy skipped church, but at least this time she did take Coral and Jordan to CCD and shopped at Publix. After CCD, Coral had an afternoon soccer game, so Jordan and Amy took her while Dan and Ian stayed at home and said good-bye to our guests, the Marshalls, who headed back to Pittsburgh. Speaking of which, the Steelers had a Sunday night game against the Browns and even though they didnt look great, they still won moving them into first place. November 14, 2005 With our guests gone and everyone back to school and work, its time to sing Back to life, back to re-al-ity. November 15, 2005 Not much to report today November 16, 2005 After work, Dan picked up Jordan and Coral for Corals final soccer practice. At the end of practice, the coach thought it would be fun to have a scrimmage between the kids and parents. The kids enjoyed beating the parents 4-3, but the parents didnt enjoy the extra joint pains. November 17, 2005 Jordan and Coral spent the day at Silver Springs near Ocala for a big field trip. They learned some Native American traditions and got to ride in a boat with a glass bottom. The day was long, but fun and Coral and Jordan had many stories to tell when they got back. November 18, 2005 Dan passed his cold on to Amy and it was too much for her so she took half-a-day off. There was some good news that came from thisshe finally got to see Jordan and Ian at gymnastics. November 19, 2005 The final games festivities were today for both soccer teamsfirst it was Jordans game then party afterwards. During the game, Jordan got so close to kicking her first goal of the year, but just missed. Next it was Corals team game and party. Both the girls had fun, but were mostly excited about getting new trophies. Lucky for us both games and parties were at Gardendale so it made it easy to get back and forth to the field. Later, we made the pilgrimage to the Shaffers for the whole family to see baby Jackson (Ya gotta come see the ba-by)while this was exciting in itself, the real fun for the kids was the new, HUGE jungle-gym/fort that takes up their entire back yard. After a nice visit, we went to R.J. Gators for some grub and to continue watching the Penn State game. Once the plates were emptied and Penn State had won the Big 10 and a guaranteed BCS bowl bid, it was time to head home. November 20, 2005 Yet another Sunday of lazinessAmy skipped church again, but she did take Coral, Jordan, and our turn at bringing in the snacks to CCD and then shopped at Publix. Maybe God is punishing us and the Steelers for skipping church, but if not, he punished Amy by making her do all the Christmas shopping. Yes, today was an overtime loss to the Ravens (hate them) and Amys famous day-o-shopping for Christmas. She came back with the Jeep filled to the roof with gifts. November 21, 2005 Back to work and school, but it is a short week for all! Now that the last storm of this season, Gamma, has fizzled out in the Caribbean, the temperatures have fallen, but they will get up. November 22, 2005 The season is upon us...Dan and Amy went to Gardendale for the big Thanksgiving Feast. Dan sat with Jordan and Amy with Coral as we ate turkey and all the fixin's. After the festivities, Amy stayed to help clean up and then they picked up Ian for an early day. November 23, 2005 The last day of the work-week for Dan and Amywoo hoo! Coral and Jordan didnt have school today, so they played all day at all-day-care. Ian had a pretty normal day. Later, Dan took place in yet another poker tournament with yet another disappointmentfor those of you that think there is no luck involved, you are dead wrong. November 24, 2005 Happy Thanksgiving, the best holiday of the year!!! This was the Florida Remberts 6th Thanksgiving in Florida, but our first with visitors for the day! Dans cousin, Jen and her family (Eric, Caitlin, Haleigh, Moriah, Zachary, and Karen) were in Florida on vacation and decided to come for the day to celebrate the cooked Turkey and fermented beverages on this perfect fall day. Jen made a point to call her sisters and bother and compared weather conditions (22 and snow vs 80 and sun is no comparison in our opinion) while we sat by the pool most of the day. It was nice to have family to give thanks with and share childhood stories. November 25, 2005 As is the Florida Rembert tradition even before we were the Florida Remberts, we got out our Christmas decorations. It was a bit of a challenge because of the new house, but we found new places for the tree and all the lights around the house. Later, Dan continued his sad story of losing his money at pokerreally Dan enjoys playing this game; he must be gluten for punishment. November 26, 2005 Now that all the indoor decorations found new homes, it was time to get the outdoor lights up. Because the roof on the new house is a bit higher and steeper, we bought a ladder to help get to the hard-to-reach places. The new arrangement of lights made it up just in time for dusk to fall and the first successful test run. After the kids were in bed, it was time for the annual viewing of the classic, Christmas Vacation. November 27, 2005 After we finalized a few of the decorations, Amy did the food shopping for the week, and then we all went to see Chicken Little. The kids enjoyed the movie and Amy and Dan realized that the only time we will ever get to go to the movie theater from now on will be for kid movies, so we better enjoy ourselves...Amy gives it 2 long winks. November 28, 2005 Back to work and schoolit is difficult to get out of bed after a few days off. The Steelers didn't make this day any easier with a loss in Indyhopefully we will meet again in the playoffs. November 29, 2005 After work and school, Dan and the kids watched the unanimated How the Grinch Stole Christmas, while Amy tried to complete the Christmas shopping. This was the first time Dan saw the live action remake of the Dr. Seuss classic tale of the outcast-gone-good and he found it to be an entertaining version, but still enjoys the original much better as a Christmas special purist. November 30, 2005 The big trek of the night was when the Florida Remberts went to Wal-Mart to get this years version of the Florida Remberts Christmas cardcoming to your mailbox soon (if you are lucky)! |
