| August 1, 2002 Dan worked extra hours during the week, so he only had to work half a day today because all the visitors, except Matt, arrived today...The Manions and the Remberts (plus Dwain and Aunt Elaine) were the first to get to the Bolton Bed and Breakfast. Once all the catching-up was done, the swimming began. Pizza and the hearts game followed soon after...Dan won the first game and we didn't finish the last game (sorry Gene). After the crowd dwindled down to the guests only, Rich, Deni, and Madi arrived on the scene. August 2, 2002 Amy had to go to work, so she took Ian and Jordan to daycare and Coral to school. Dan got the day off to spend with the guests, Rich, Deni, Madi, Marie and Dwain. The rain didn't dampen the fun. A craps lesson turned the Bed and Breakfast into the Bolton Bed, Breakfast, Casino, and Resort...now even Madi can play. Once the hard rain cleared, we went on a trip to the beach and to Grills for a late lunch. Soon after we got back, we were all on our way to El Charros to eat some more, only this time it was on the Florida Remberts. Judy, Gene, and Aunt Elaine joined the guests back at the Bed, Breakfast, Casino, and Resort for some drinks in the lounge area. Later that night, Dan and Rich picked up the last guest, Matt, at the airport. August 3, 2002 The morning started off with some world famous Bolton Chocolate-Chip Pancakes for the guests (we comp you the pancakes and the room, but you pay for it in the casino). Once Judy, Gene and Elaine got there, we spent the day in the pool, until the storm, Roz and her boyfriend, arrived and then we took the fun inside. We then all met at the Sunset Cafe for dinner except the Manions because Sandy unfortunately twisted her ankle the night before and wasn't feeling well enough to join us. On the way back to the Bolton B,B,C, & R, we stopped and got Ice Cream to eat and Outburst to play... just in case you don't play craps. August 4, 2002 The Bolton B,B,C&R was crazy this morning with everyone getting ready for Ian's Big Day...his baptism. The Godmother is Marie and Rich is the Godfather (so, show some respect or he will have you wacked). After all the confusion, it was surprising that just about everyone showed on time. Ian was a ham...when the priest dipped him in the water, he cried, but when he saw that everyone was cheering, he hammed it up! After the baptism and many pictures, we had a party, which included swimming and eating all day long. The weather was great until the night when a storm brought the smaller party of Judy, Gene, Jeanette (the artist formally known as Elaine), and the guests (Marie, Dwain, Matty, Madi, Rich and Deni) inside to watch home videos. August 5, 2002 The Bolton B,B,C&R lost its first guest this morning...Matty took Richy Rich's shuttle service to the airport, but the fun pushed on. Amy had the day off, so we all traveled out to the beach to join everyone (except Gene and Coral because she had school) for lunch and cocktails at Oh Shucks on the Pier. We then took a walk on the beach before the Florida Remberts had to pick up Coral at school and the Ex-San Francisco-but-Welcome-Back-to-Pittsburgh Rusts had to catch their plane back. Later that evening it was cruisin' time...Dan, Marie, Dwain, Judy, Gene and Jeanette all went on the Sterling Cruise Gambling Boat. Half were winners (Dan, Dwain and Judy) and half had to pay for their free meal and drinks (Gene, Marie and Jeanette). August 6, 2002 Happy 5 Month Birthday to Ian! Today it was back to work, school, and daycare as the Bolton Bed, Breakfast, Casino & Resort lost the last two guests, Marie and Dwain. It was a fun-filled extended weekend with pretty good weather for all the guests and the party, so thank you all for taking the time and spending the money to visit us and celebrate Ian's Baptism...hope you had as much fun as we did! August 7, 2002 Now that all the guests are gone and we are back to work, school and daycare, things are kinda quiet. We did met the Manions at Carrabbas for the "last supper" and to say good-bye. August 8, 2002 Today was a magical day...it was the first Steeler game of the season and it was on ESPN! Yes, it was only pre-season, but when last year ended like it did, any Steeler football is good Steeler football...Dan is offically excited again! Thanks to Rich, we have added some new pictures to the Florida Remberts Family Album from the Baptism Weekend. August 9, 2002 After work, school and daycare, Amy and Coral did some shopping for a b-day party and got some movies...Coral enjoyed her movie, but Dan and Amy were too tired to watch theirs. August 10, 2002 Dan and Jordan went to swimming lessons...Jordan is not into swimming, so its kinda hard to get her modivated. Then Amy and Coral went to gymnastics and to her little friend's birthday party. Later, Dan and Amy watched "Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring"...it was not as good as we thought, but the special effects were great...you have to read the book to understand the movie, and neither of us did. Amy gives it 3 1/2 "long winks". August 11, 2002 It was mostly a day of rest (as Sundays should be)...Coral and Amy did some food shopping and got some more movies. We all watched "Snow Dogs"...it was a pretty funny family movie (say that 3 times fast). The ads for the movie are deceiving because the dogs don't actually "talk" except for one scene, so that was good. Amy gives it 2 1/2 "long winks". August 12, 2002 The new COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Dynamac was visiting KSC this week. So after work, he took all the Dynamac employees out for drinks and hors d'oeuvres and Dan partook in the festivities...unfortunately for Amy, the subcontractor, Bionetics, was not invited. August 13, 2002 Just a normal day of work, daycare and school for the Florida Remberts. August 14, 2002 Today at school, Coral had her first "study trip" to the BCC Planetarium...she said it was cool riding the bus, "...we went fast..." and, oh yeah, the planetarium was nice too. At Amy's work, the Center Director, Mr. Bridges, came to visit Rehab Works for a shoulder problem, so that was kinda exciting news for the Rehab Works staff. Amy said he was very nice and even introduced himself as Roy...she called him Mr. Bridges. August 15, 2002 Coral had her gymnastics class tonight instead of Saturday, so Dan met them there after work...that's about all the excitement for the day. August 16, 2002 After a long week of work, school and daycare, we relaxed and watched "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" with some popcorn...Coral has been waiting all week to watch it and was very happy to finally get to see it...Dan and Jordan were also pleasantly surprised...Ian and Amy were too busy to watch the whole thing. August 17, 2002 Dan started the day by trying to get the lawn mower up and running, but it wouldn't start and we had to send it to the shop...so instead of doing work in the yard, we relaxed and worked on our tans in the pool. Later, we all took a trip to BJs for some stuff and then to Circuit City where we got a new digital camera, so now we can post even more pictures. August 18, 2002 After Coral and Amy got back from church, another day was spent out by the pool doing no work...wasn't it nice of the lawn mower to break-down while the weather was so nice. August 19, 2002 Back to the grind of work, daycare and school. August 20, 2002 Amy had another dentist appointment and she said that her teeth are doing much better, so keep up the good work Amy, looks like the hour every night of work is paying off. After the kids were in bed, Amy and Dan (well really just Dan...Amy was too tired from her trip to the dentist) watched "A Beautiful Mind". Dan was in awe of this movie...definitely worthy of all the awards. August 21, 2002 After work, daycare and school, Amy had a dinner date with Shannah, Emily, and Carol at Applebees for some food and adult conversation. Dan went thru the drive-thru at Taco Bell and Wendy's for him and the kids...Ian really enjoyed the "Biggie Fries". August 22, 2002 Not much to report...just work, school and laundry day. August 23, 2002 After work, school and daycare, we just relaxed and got ready for the weekend...woo hoo! Amy finally watched "A Beautiful Mind" and loved it...she gives it Zero "long winks". August 24, 2002 Amy and Coral started the day off with gymnastics and some errands, which included getting the lawn mower back...guess what Dan's "task of the day" was...you got it, he cut the grass. Coral, Jordan and Amy did some swimming while Ian was napping, then Dan jumped in for a quick dip before pizza for dinner. Later, Dan and Amy watched "Domestic Disturbance", which had its ups and mainly downs...Amy gives it 3 "long winks", but Dan didn't think so highly of it. August 25, 2002 Dan and Coral did the church-thing and then got the rest of the Florida Remberts for "picture time". It was time to get a picture of the kids, so we "cleaned-up" the kids and headed over to Wal-Mart. After that test of patience, lunch at Micky-D's and then a trip to Publix, it was time to relax in the pool. Later, Dan had his fantasy football draft...must be football season! August 26, 2002 Back to the Monday grindstone...as the Boomtown Rats sang "I don't like Mondays". Of course, they were talking about a killer, but you get the idea. August 27, 2002 Coral had a big day at school today...first, she had her school pictures taken and then lunch with Mom and Dad and two of her school-mates. Lunch went good, Dan had a rib sandwich that didn't treat him well though...you will find more out about that. August 28, 2002 Well, that rib sandwich didn't like my stomach and vice versa, so Dan stayed home today. The rest of the Florida Remberts went to work, school and daycare. August 29, 2002 Dan spent another day at home, but mostly because Amy asked him to because she had the day off, so only Coral did her daily routine of going to school. Later, since Dan was feeling better, Amy did some shopping by herself. August 30, 2002 After work, Dan had a couple drinks with some work people, and then Amy picked him, Coral, Jordan, and Ian up and we all headed home. Later, Dan's friend from the Seattle-team in his Fantasy Football League came to visit (he was in Tampa for business and traveled across the state), so Dan showed him the town in his convertable Mustang. August 31, 2002 After Coral's gymnastics, it was clean-up day for the big birthday bash coming up. |
