Today is a special day in the Florida Rembert History Books...it is the 19th anniversary of the day Dan and Amy decided to start dating...woo hoo!  It is also only 2-weeks before the big trip to Vegas to celebrate 10-years of their marriage (although it is only 3-days before the 11th anniversary of said marriage...but better late than never!).

June 2, 2005
Amy is now working on a crown for her other tooth...ahh, the perils of dental hygiene.  Later, Dan took his turn at clothes shopping for Vegas.

June 3, 2005
After school, Coral visited with her friend Mollie and then they both met up with Dan, Jordan, and Ian at gymnastics where they stayed with Amy for open gym.

Happy 11th Anniversary to Dan and Amy!!!
The rain dampened the plans to visit the resort, so we packed in the car and went to the mall to see "Madagascar".  The kids had fun and even Ian enjoyed his first movie at the movie theater, but Dan and Amy felt the movie just didn't live up to the star-power and the hypeAmy gives it 3 "long winks" and a couple trips to the bathroom for Ian and a couple trips to the concession stand.

Happy 1st Anniversary to Dwain and Marie!!!
We waited for the weather to clear up and then we moseyed over to the resort for a day trip.

June 6, 2005
This morning Dan woke with a splitting headache, but surged forward to work because today was the first day of work for the summer students in the office.  Don't worry, later he came home from work and rested while Amy took great care of the kids.

June 7, 2005
As expected, Dan stayed home in bed all day to try and stop the bug before it made itself comfortable and dwelled for more than a week and ruined the Vegas plans.  Amy was in charge of the kids and to stay away from Dan to stop the spread.

June 8, 2005
Dan felt much better and returned to work.  The pool pump, which was on the fritz for about a week, was fixed.  And finally, Amy's stress level returned to normal along with everything else because of the fixes (Dan's head and the pool's pump).  Today was Coral's official last day of 2nd grade and she received all Os (Outstandings) once again on her report card...woo hoo!

June 9, 2005
After work, it was Amy's turn to shop for Vegas!  She went all over to find a new wardrobe for the trip and we will probably need a new suitcase to carry it all.

June 10, 2005
After gymnastics, Dan got warmed-up for Vegas by losing all his money at the bi-weekly poker game...hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come, but we will see!

June 11, 2005
We all worked all day to get things finalized before the big vacation trip...many things like hairs and grass had to get cut before we leave.

June 12, 2005
Today we kinda relaxed by the pool for a little while, but then Jordan had a birthday party to go to and then Amy went to the airport and picked-up the "help"...the grandmas, who are staying with us for a week to watch the kids, the house, and the dog while Dan and Amy gamble their lives away.

June 13, 2005
Jordan got to see "Madagascar" when she and the rest of the "big kids" at summer camp went on a field trip to the movies.  Ian is continued his learning ways with the potty trainingwe thought he would be ready by now, but he still has his "accidents".  Later, Dan and Amy packed for the long-awaited 10th/11th Anniversary trip to Vegas, Baby!

June 14, 2005
Spent most of the day at work and wished we were in Vegas!  After work, Dan and Amy rode to the airport, ate at Chili's, and then hopped on a plane to Vegas!

Dan and Amy's trip to Vegas!!! (see
the Vegas Diaries)

June 21, 2005
Dan and Amy arrived back home with red-eyes and told stories (all of which can be read in the Vegas Diaries section).  After all the gifts and thank yous were passed out to Coral and the two Grandmas, so were Dan and Amy.  Later it was time to take the Grandmas to the airport for their trip back to relaxing reality and to pick up Jordan and Ian and they welcomed back Dan and Amy with hugs and kisses and received their gifts.

June 22, 2005
Got back to reality and it was no fun!  After Dan and Amy got the kids to bed, they watched "In Good Company".  Although it looked like it would be a comedy, it turned out to be a pretty good drama with a weird endingAmy gives it 2 1/2 "long winks".

June 23, 2005
We are doing a lot of resting up in the evening, but still not back on the regular schedule...maybe by this weekend our bodies will return to normal.

June 24, 2005
Today was an interesting day of gymnasticsfirst, Dan had to leave work early to get the kids because the class time switched from 5 to 4.  Secondly, Ian had his first day of class and he had great time, listened well, and really enjoyed it.  Third of all, Jordan started her new, more advanced class at the same time as Ian's new class.  And lastly, Coral never made it to her class at her normal time because on the way to pick-up Coral, Amy ran over a piece of metal and got a flat tire.  They just went to Tire America (or equivalent) and got a new tire.

June 25, 2005
The morning started off with Dan trying to get a small piece of rubber from one of those toys that you throw against the wall and it sticks for a while (unless it is on our new ceilingthen it sticks for the entire time we are away at Vegas) out of Jordan's ear.  For some reason, Jordan felt her hearing was too good and thought it may be better if there was something to impair it a littleor something like that.  After several extraction tries and more than a few flushes with saline solution, it was time to leave the medical procedures to the professionals, so Amy took her to the doctors to remove the small, green sticky substance.  While these two were off testing the medical confines, Dan dropped Coral off at Marisa's birthday party, signed Coral and Jordan up for this year's fall soccer league, and then had time to stop by the play ground where Ian got to have some alone time and played on the gym set for a while.  Later, Amy came home with an extra kid for a sleep over (Marisa) and then did some food shopping for the week.  It was a pretty exciting day to get back into the swing of things.

June 26, 2005
Since today was the first day in a long time there was no real immanent threat of rain, Dan cut the tall grass and Amy and the kids did some swimming.  Once Dan was done, Amy finished the job by cleaning up the clippings and Dan joined the swimming escapades until it was nap-time for Ian.  While Ian slept and Dan rested, Amy took Jordan, Coral, and Marisa to the mall and then delivered Marisa back home.  The beautiful day ended with a comforting family cook-out on the back patio and a walk around the neighborhood.

June 27, 2005
Today Ian hit a huge milestonehe went a full day without any accidents and used the potty all day long!!!  Could this be the end of diapers for our heroes?  Tune in next week to see the conclusion of "The Last of the Go-peeings".  In some bad news, Coral went in for another dentist appointment to find out that they wanted to start the whole process over againwe will be finding a new dentist.  We finally finished watching "Troy".  Amy thought it would be better with the likes of Brad Pitt, but was a bit disappointed, she gives it 3 "long winks".

June 28, 2005
Ian continued to stay dry, so it may be time to start shopping for a big-boy bed soon.  The rest of the day's excitement was only filled with a trip to get the oil changed in the Jeep.

June 29, 2005
Not much going on todayat least not enough to report.

June 30, 2005
After work Amy finally ordered blinds for Ian's room so maybe now he will be able to sleep past sun-up.  They should arrive in a few weeksnot that exciting, but it's all we got today.
