| Here is what is going on with the Florida Remberts |
| June 1, 2003 Today is another important day in the Florida Remberts' history...check it out. We caught up with some sleep, a little rest, and many daily chores. June 2, 2003 After we got back from work, school and daycare, and then ate dinner, we got pounded by thunderstorms throughout the evening. June 3, 2003 After work, school and daycare, we got some more rain, so it looks like the rainy-season is upon us. Later, Dan and Amy watched "Mr. Deeds". It was kinda cheesy, but funny, a typical Adam Sandler movie with all the usual suspects....Amy gives it 3 "long winks". June 4, 2003 9 Years Ago, Dan and Amy got Hitched!!! Wow, how time flies... Dan and Coral went on a Gardendale field-trip to Disney's Animal Kingdom. We had fun, but trying to handle kindergarteners (other than Coral), is like herding wild horses...they are going to do their own thing and not listen to a word you say. Luckily the rains came and cut the day a little shorter. God bless all the teachers out there! After we got back, we all celebrated our aniversary by watching the wedding video and explaining to the kids why they weren't invited. June 5, 2003 After work, Dan left on a plane trip for a little recruiting trip to the Emerald Coast. He sent in a resume just for the heck of it to see what can happen and now the company has requested a follow-up interview in person...watch what you wish for. The position is at Eglin Air Force Base in the panhandle of Florida halfway between Panama City and Pensacola. June 6, 2003 Today was Dan's interviews and tour of the facilities. It went very well and Dan is expecting an offer to be extended...who knows if this offer will be matched by Dynamac (the current company) or if it will be too sweet to pass up...we will have to wait and see. At home, Amy was busy taking care of the kids by herself...and trying to keep her sanity. June 7, 2003 Dan spent the day driving around the area in the pouring rain. He tried to see the sights, but it was tough seeing in the huricane conditions. Later, he returned home to a very tired-out Amy. June 8, 2003 After church for Amy and Coral, the rest of Sunday was spent catching up with bills, laundry, and family time. We also tried to keep the porch dry and the pool from overflowing from all the rain we have been getting...this seems to happen every June. June 9, 2003 Back to work, daycare and school. Today was Coral's last full day of school...soon she will be a big first grader! Only 3 more half days left of kindergarten. June 10, 2003 Dan and Amy drove separately to work because Dan left early to cut the grass while there was a break in the rain...Amy was in charge of the kids. June 11, 2003 Coral got her report card for the last quarter today and she did great with all Outstandings(Os)...to read more, check out the NEWS! June 12, 2003 After work, daycare, and school, we all went to Steak -n- Shake to celebrate the last day of school, the start of summer break, and a great report card. June 13, 2003 Today was the kids' last day at Tiny Treasures of Joy because Jordan will be starting pre-school and we wanted to had Ian in the same place (to cut down on travel), so on Monday Jordan and Ian start at Word of Life Pre-School and Daycare. We were so hot after work and daycare, we all jumped in the pool until the pizza came to celebrate another Friday. June 14, 2003 Merry Flag Day!!! Today was work day...Dan cut the grass, cleaned the pool, and vacuumed the back porch while Amy cleaned the porch and trimmed the flower bushes after getting back from gymnastics. We also took turns getting the laundry done and even fit in some swimming. June 15, 2003 Happy Dad's Day!!! Because we got all the work done yesterday, we got to relax by the pool today to help Dan celebrate Father's Day in style. We even got carry-out from Chili's...woo hoo! June 16, 2003 The first day of pre-school/daycare went great for Ian and Jordan. They both had good reports and had fun. Let's hope the rest of the days are as good as the first. June 17, 2003 Today after work, Dan headed down the bee-line to the Orlando Airport to take a trip back to the homeland of Pittsburgh! It had been almost 2 years since his last trip, so it was time. He got in at about 9:15 and met up with Marie at the luggage pick-up and then got to the car with Gene and Dwain. As usual, the weather was rain and cooler than Dan is used to, but he was excited to be home. When he got to South Linwood, there was a welcoming party of one...Jude. After catching up, it was time for bed. Meanwhile, back in Florida, Amy's family (yes, the whole immediate family) came to visit for a week while Dan is gone on his vacation. June 18, 2003 Because Amy and the kids were at home, Dan took advantage and slept in and then Dan and Judy went to see the Art's Festival. They looked around for a while and then had lunch at Max and Erma's. Dan wanted to see the ol' city a little more so they did more walking around and then hopped on the bus back to Crafton. Later, Rich, Matt, Aunt E, and Madi, came over for a quick visit. Dan, Marie, Dwain, Matt, and Rich then went on a tour of Dwain's (and Marie, after marriage) apartment, which is in the same building on Grandview Ave. that Dan and Amy had when they were first married. We all then went out to the Lava Lounge in the historic South Side to see Rich's new band play and topped the evening off with a visit to Greb's Bakery for some fresh doughnuts and a news update from Uncle Cyr. June 19, 2003 After more sleeping in, Dan got a visit from Eric & son, Parker, and Carrie & kids, Cole and Emma. It was good to see all these friends getting to finally experience the joys parenting. After checking the weather forecast for the 18th time, Dan, Judy and Marie went to the Pirate game...luckily there was no rain, but there was also no win for the Bucos. Dan even got a quick shot of himself on the jumbo-tron trying to get a ball that wasn't quite a homerun in the outfield. Later, it was time for a visit to the North Hills to see Tim, Marcy and Natilie and all the updates to their house (last time Dan saw it was about 2-weeks after their closing). June 20, 2003 Dan and Gene decided to go check out the old place in Pittsburgh. It was kinda depressing to see it after the last time (when we lived in it), but we prepared it for sale (HINT!). Later that evening, Eric picked up Dan and took him to see Becky, Parker, and their house. Then it was time to visit the ol' stomping grounds, Alexions, for a sammich (sandwich for those of you that don't speak Pittsburghese) and a couple beers. We then picked up Bill, had a quick visit with Tracey, Mia, and Jake, and then it was off to the new and improved Station Square, which now houses the Pittsburgh Hard Rock Cafe. The final stop was to the Park House in West End (the old Temperanceville Tavern) to catch the final innings of the 15-inning Pirate game. June 21, 2003 Dan and Gene did the final preps for sale of the house (HINT again!). Once they got back, they ordered a greasy pizza, the kind you just can't find in Florida, and some wings and then kicked back until the evening. Rich came to get Dan and they went out to see his place. After a quick tour, but no Deni or Madi, they hit some bars and had a great talk down at the South Side. June 22, 2003 Dan took advantage of his last day of sleeping in without the kids and didn't roll out of bed until 10:45! Later in the day (the first with no threat of rain), Eric and Becky had a picnic so that Dan could do some final catching-up. After the picnic and a trip to Ritas, Tim took Dan to see Dave's new place. Then it was time to start packing. June 23, 2003 Happy 3-year Anniversary of the Florida house and 2-year Anniversary to Rich and Deni! A nice visit to Pittsburgh ended for Dan today, so he said his good-byes and got on the plane back to Florida to find out that Amy had to leave work early because Ian has an ear infection... that is not a good welcome home. June 24, 2003 Dan took Jordan to school, Coral to summer camp for her first day at Alpha Academy, and then went to work while Amy stayed home with Ian to make sure he gets better. June 25, 2003 Just when it seemed that things were back to normal, they're not...Amy stayed home with Ian in the morning and Dan stayed home in the afternoon to get him back on track. June 26, 2003 Take yesterday's schedule and flip it around and now you got today. Ian had an appointment in the afternoon and is looking like today will be his last day off, so that's good. June 27, 2003 Ian finally got back to daycare/pre-school (can you imagine all the make-up homework he has to do), so it was a normal Friday, but we didn't do the normal pizza and a movie this week. June 28, 2003 After gymnastics, we spent most of the day inside because it was sort of a rainy day. Amy and Coral went to price beds for Jordan while she and Ian napped. Another bit of NEWS...while Dan, Jordan, and Coral were playing, Coral got her 3rd tooth knocked-out, so we are expecting another visit from the tooth-fairy sometime through the night. June 29, 2003 After church for Dan and Coral and then lunch, we took a family trip to get Jordan her "big-girl" bed! We are all excited about this, but Jordan is the most...it will arrive Friday morning. June 30, 2003 Once again, it is nice to have a normal day to report! |
