| Here is what is going on with the Florida Remberts |
| May 1, 2003 After dancing around the May-Pole a few times in joy, it was back to work, school and daycare, even for Jordan...woohoo! Sometimes it's nice to get back to the grind. As you can see, we are trying to sell our Pittsburgh house again, so please help us and let everyone in Pittsburgh know. Word-of-mouth is better than any advertising. May 2, 2003 Dan's office had a little picnic after work, so he left a little early and Amy picked him up on the way to get the kids at about 5:30...that is the excitement of Fridays now-a-days. May 3, 2003 Amy and Jordan went to Coral's gymnastics and then home to do some prep work for Jordan's little b-day party. While Ian and Jordan were napping, Amy and Coral did her b-day shopping. May 4, 2003 Happy 3rd Birthday to Jordan!!! We had the Shaffers over for swimming and lots-o-cheese (we had cheese sticks, potato skins with cheese, and pizza)...it was amazing no one sunk in the pool while swimming. It was a perfect day and Jordan had so much fun eating her cake and showing everyone how old she is with her fingers...she held down her ring finger instead of her pinky with her thumb! May 5, 2003 Merry Cinco de Mayo!!! Back to the grind (see May 1st for why this is not bad). May 6, 2003 Happy B-day to Cousin Tim, the other Floridian!!! Well the only real news down here in Central Florida is the weather is strarting to get hot...temperatures will be near or at 90 this week and won't go down much until October. May 7, 2003 After school, Dan got Coral for her Daisy meeting, which was with her sister Brownie Troop to get to know the "Brownie way". Amy also had an exciting evening, she went to a new Mexican restaurant with Mary...the food must have been good because there were no left-overs for Dan. May 8, 2003 Not much going on, so here's an update. Getting Jordan to show some more "potty-time" and use big girl pants, but we're not all the way there yet. May 9, 2003 After work, school and daycare, we got a pizza and watched some TV...while we were sitting down to another exciting episode of "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (the animated series)", Coral was playing with her tooth and it came out! She was so excited to finally meet the Tooth Fairy. May 10, 2003 After gymnastics, we got out the wash rags and shined up the cars. It was so hot, that we had to take a dip in the pool after the work was done. May 11, 2003 Happy Mothers Day!!! Amy and Coral went to church (St. Mary's gave Amy a flower) and then did some food shopping, not to mention all the quality time they spent together for Mother's Day. After they got home and we all ate lunch, Jordan, who gave Amy the best present by wearing her big girl pants all day and didn't have any accidents, and Ian took naps. This is when the relaxing began. After nap-time, the kids joined us in the pool (Jordan didn't even wear swimmies diapers) and then Dan made dinner. The day was topped off with the "Survivor" finale and a Pittsburgher won! May 12, 2003 Happy Birthday to Aunt Re Re!!! It happened again...Coral was busy eating her nutritious breakfast and noticed that her Fruity Peebles were harder than normal in this bite. As it turns out, it was her tooth...the second in four days. After tonight, the Tooth Fairy will now know our address by heart! May 13, 2003 It was 3 years ago today when Dan landed on Florida soil (sand)! Dan had a meeting in Cape Canaveral today, so Amy handled the kids and took them to daycare and school on the way to work. May 14, 2003 Jordan is doing great with potty training...spent the whole day in big-girl pants...woo hoo! May 15, 2003 3 years ago, Dan started his job at KSC!!! Speaking of 3 years...Jordan had her 3-year check-up and is doing good. She is at the 50-percentile level in height, but 5-percentile in weight...wow! May 16, 2003 In typical Friday fashion, we did the pizza and a movie thing. May 17, 2003 Because it is so hot and humid and we are always looking for a reason to throw a party, we invited the Shaffers and Shannah over to do some swimming. John and the kids got there right before Amy, Coral and Jordan got back from gymnastics. Later, Krista, Shannah, Sierra, and her friend, Jenna, came to jump in the pool, too. Of course, a few 'ritas were consumed. May 18, 2003 Another HOT day, so it was mainly spent in or by the pool! Ian loves to swim and jump in the pool, and he even goes under the water...that must have made Jordan envious because she decided to use her swimmies (water wings, etc.) to be on her own. She did great and once she got-up enough courage, she was traveling all around the pool by herself...Coral was even impressed! After dinner, Ian got his hair cut...after the kids' bedtime, Dan got his hair cut. May 19, 2003 After work, school, daycare, and a quick bite to eat, we did some swimming to keep Jordan in practice and everyone else cool...boy, it's hot! May 20, 2003 Amy had some training at work and had to get in early, so Dan was in-charge of the kids' morning ritual...and on a weather note...we finally got some rain. May 21, 2003 It was Amy's turn this morning to get the kids off to school and daycare because Dan was in early so he could take Coral and Marisa to an "End-of-the-Daisy-Year" Pool Party...woo hoo! May 22, 2003 Instead of discussing the present, let's take some time to talk about the past...in particular, 17-years ago today and why this date is so important. The year was 1986, Dan was turned-down by his prom date to go to Kennywood and Amy decided to go with her friends and not her boyfriend. It just so happens that Amy's friends invited Dan, Rich, Michelle, and Ron to join them. Eventually, Dan and Amy ended up riding all the rides together and that was just the start. Amy also helped Dan overcome his fear of roller coasters, and 3 great kids and a trip to Florida later, they are now helping each other ride the roller coaster-of-life. To read more history, check out the Timeline! May 23, 2003 To start the long weekend off right, we had pizza and movie night...for the kids, it was "Land Before Time VIII: The Big Freeze" and the adults watched "Red Dragon". This was MUCH better than the last in the Lecter-series, "Hannibal", but not quite as good as the original, "Silence of the Lambs". Glad they went back to a thriller movie...Amy gives it 1 "long wink". May 24, 2003 Today we spent the day at Horizons with the Shaffers...this is their timeshare that they shared with us. The swimming pool there has a big pirate ship that the kids played on all day long...cool stuff. By the time we got home, everybody was beat...must have been a good day! May 25, 2003 Another day in Orlando, this time it was at Seaworld. We went there for two reasons...we figured it would be less crowded than the Disney parks and they offer a buy-tickets-for-one-day-and-come-for-free-the-rest-of-the-year deal. The line for the "Fun Pass" was an hour long and the line to get into the park was another hour, so factor in the travel time and it took us 3-hours to get into the World of Seas...here I thought it was in Orlando. The crowds were terrible...one of the Disney parks must have been closed. The heat didn't help matters either...in the mid 90s all day! The only saving grace of this day was that with our passes, we can see the parts of the park that we missed, some other day. May 26, 2003 Happy Memorial Day!!! Ahhh, finally, a day of rest. The Shaffers came over and brought food (ribs and all the fixin's) for a traditional Memorial Day cook-out and swimming party! May 27, 2003 Welp, it was back to the grind today. May 28, 2003 After today's grind, Amy, Coral and Jordan went to McDonalds and then did some shopping... the guys just hung out. May 29, 2003 After the kids were in dreamland, Dan and Amy watched the other rented movie, "Road to Predition". The movie was pretty good, but not as good as was originally thought and Tom Hanks was better than originally thought as a "bad guy"....Amy gives it 2 1/2 "long winks". May 30, 2003 After work, school and daycare, we returned the old movies and got new ones, and then stopped by the pizza place. Coral watched her movie, Dan and Amy didn't. Today is another important day in the Florida Remberts' history...check it out. May 31, 2003 First was gymnastics for Coral, Jordan and Amy, then it was time for the "Bridging Ceremony". This is the ceremony that takes her from being a Daisy to a Brownie...very important. At night, it was Dan and Amy's turn for some fun. We went to a co-worker's 40th surprise birthday party and then some finger foods at Chili's. |
