| Here is what is going on with the Florida Remberts |
| April 1, 2003 Dan and Amy won over $11.5 million while in Vegas, so they rented an R-V for Pap and Gramma to drive Coral, Jordan, and Ian out west to their second home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Wow, you guys are easy, this is the 3rd year in a row I got you with an April Fools joke! April 2, 2003 Not much going on, just the last night with Pap and Gramma. They will be leaving after a month in sunny Florida. April 3, 2003 A typical Thursday with Friends and Survivor on TV, just this time there was no one there to watch it with us. But don't worry it is just 2-weeks until the next visitors come. April 4, 2003 Celebrated Friday by leaving work early to get a sick kid, Ian (and Coral and Jordan, too), and ate dinner on the back porch. Looks like nice weather for the weekend. April 5, 2003 No gymnastics this week (the teachers are on spring break...they must go even further south to party), so we just hung out all day. Ian went to the doctors and found out he has his first ear infection. While Ian and Jordan napped, Amy and Coral restocked the food. Later, Dan and Amy watched "Unfaithful". While others thought of it as "soft porn", Dan felt that this movie let the lead charaters get away with too much! Before you go on with the old "what's good for the goose..." stuff, it was more than just the infidelties that were ridiculous, but you have to watch the movie to understand. Amy liked it pretty good...she gives it 2 1/2 "long winks". April 6, 2003 Happy Daylight Savings Day!!! Today was Coral's last day of CCD, but no one was feeling well enough to attend church...sinners! We got some swimming in before lunch (lunch was late because of daylight savings), but then rested to try to get everyone better. Later, Ian and Dan got their hair cut (yes, all of them got cut), but that was about the most exciting thing going on today. April 7, 2003 Jordan woke with a fever, so Dan stayed home with her and Coral on her last day of break, while Amy and Ian got back to the grind. This was a day of recovery...Dan was having trouble with daylight savings, so he and the kids just rested all day long. After the kids went to bed, Dan and Amy watched "The Bourne Identity". Dan was very impressed with the movie...Amy, on the other hand, was having trouble with the weight of her eye-lids once again. She gives this movie 3 "long winks", but that is just an estimate based on the parts she actually saw. April 8, 2003 Back to the grind for all of us today. After work, school and daycare, we ate and then went outside to enjoy the extra daylight and teach Coral how to ride her bike...maybe soon we will be taking the training-wheels off. Dan put the Vegas Pictures on the page, so check them out. April 9, 2003 Dan went into work early to take Coral to Daisy's, but Coral woke up sick, so Amy stayed home with her all day. The good news, Dan got to come home early to releave Amy of her duties. April 10, 2003 It was Dan's turn to stay home with Coral today. Amy, Jordan and Ian went on with their normal day. Later, we found out that Coral has been smoking too much and has a small case of bronchitis. After work, Amy wanted to make sure that "Pediatrics of Brevard" knew all the Remberts, so she took Ian in to get his rash checked that is coming back around his mouth and Jordan joined them. We now have a free visit coming to us with our frequent visit points. April 11, 2003 Coral had to stay home another day from school, so Dan and Amy split the day...Amy had the morning off and Dan had the afternoon off. She is doing much better and should be back by Monday. Later, we had some in between visitors from Pittsburgh...the Andersons (Angie was our flowergirl). They are on their annual family vacation to Florida and decided to spend a night on the east coast of Florida in order to spend some time with the Florida Remberts. April 12, 2003 No gymnastics for Coral to make sure that the coughing goes away. The Andersons stopped by again today on their way to the west coast. After they left around 3 PM, we didn't do much except enjoy the perfect weather on the back porch. April 13, 2003 No church because the cough is still lingering and may interrupt the prayers of others. So after lunch, we went to BJs for some much needed supplies and things. The rest of the day was spent catching-up with chores that weren't done on Saturday. April 14, 2003 Happy Birthday to Eric!!! After work, school and daycare, we stopped by Trinity to get registration forms...yes, it's almost time for Jordan to go to pre-school, she just has to get potty trained first. April 15, 2003 Dan and Amy decided to surprise Coral and meet her for lunch and her friend Marisa joined us for some fine cafeteria cusine. After work, school and daycare, Dan cut the grass while Amy fed the kids and then it happened...THE ATTACK OF THE SPIDER! Dan came in to the sound of Coral screaming at the top of her lungs and walked right by the culprit. After turning the whole TV room upside-down, he was found and exterminated. We are pretty sure that this large spider was a Wolf Spider and not a Brown Recluse, which is dangerous and the reason Dan was cautious. April 16, 2003 After work, daycare, school and then dinner, Dan and Amy got the kids to bed and prep'ed the house for the next guests and the big Easter dinner full of famished friends. April 17, 2003 After work, school and daycare, we got home and ate and awaited the arrival of the Stroups to Florida. They got in at about 7:30, so we all spent some time catching-up. April 18, 2003 Dan, Amy and Coral had the day off for Good Friday, so after chocolate-chip pancakes for breakfast, we used the time to get the car serviced, get Zoey groomed, and do some shopping for Easter dinner. The rest of the day was spent out by the pool. April 19, 2003 Today was another "day by the pool" kinda day...we even had some more visitors for the day. Kenny, Deanna, and Tyler came by to join in on the lounging around the pool. April 20, 2003 Happy Easter!!! The day started off with the kids finding the baskets that were well-placed by the Easter-bunny. We then played some more "where did Peter put that thing this time" games...the 3rd Annual Rembert Easter Egg Hunt took place. Amy and Lorie were so happy to see the kids having fun and upholding this tradition, which they didn't have as children that they were found crying in the kitchen making breakfast. Dan responded by saying, "Yes, I may have given the kids one of my childhood traditions, but you gave then one of yours, a healthy Easter breakfast like cinnamon rolls". We all then got ready and went to church. After church and lunch, the guests arrived...the Remberts were joind by the Stroups, the Shaffers, the Halls, and Toni (the intern from Rehab Works). This seems to be another Easter tradition in the works...we are the home for way-ward interns during Easter. Another tradition is to swim and hang out by the pool to suck in all the nice weather of this time of year...and we did plenty of that. We had an untraditional turkey dinner, on the untraditional paper plates, and dressed in the untraditional bathingsuits. So you could say the day was filled with new and old traditions and untraditions. April 21, 2003 It was tough to get back to the grind...we are too old to drink, eat and sit in the sun so much! April 22, 2003 Today was the start of the 2003 Environmental and Energy Awareness Week at Dan's work, so it was time to meet and greet the people at KSC, including Amy. April 23, 2003 Ian has been walking around the house and at daycare much more lately, so it must be time to dub him an official walker or "Sir Ian Walksalot"...way to walk Ian! April 24, 2003 After work, school and daycare, the Florida Remberts met the Stroups at El Charros for dinner. After the Mexican Feast, Jordan had a tummy ache and by the time we got to the garage she showed Dan, up-close, what she had for dinner...it was not pretty. April 25, 2003 Aunt Lor was the nurse for Jordan while Dan went to the Dentist for a check-up (all is well) and met Amy at Gardendale for Coral's play. She was an alligator and the play was a hit! Dan then went home to relieve the nurse and take care of Jordan while Amy went to work. Chloee was lone-some because Rusty and Halee went to the KSC Visitor's Center and Ian was at daycare. April 26, 2003 Jordan continued with her sickness and the rain ruined the All-American Picnic, so we all stayed home and watched the NFL Draft. April 27, 2003 The last day of the marathon visits (56 of 75 days with visitors) is today with the Stroups heading back north. Jordan continued to lay on the couch and not hold anything down so we called the doctor's office and Amy took her to the hospital to run some tests. Everything turned up normal, except for the Rotavirus, but she was dehydrated. They decided to keep her overnight to give her some IV fluids and make sure she gets better quick. Amy stayed with her all night and slept over in the hospital. Dan, Coral and Ian stopped by for a quick visit in the evening. April 28, 2003 Amy stayed in the hospital with Jordan all day as her health improved...the doctors just want to make sure they Jordan is eating before they release her. Dan, Coral, and Ian went on with a normal day. Around 7:30, Jordan and Amy arrived home at last! Welcome home, Jordan! April 29, 2003 Dan stayed home with Jordan, so Amy could catch-up at work. Jordan is much better, but the doctors said that she is still contagious until the diarrhea is finished...and it's not. April 30, 2003 Hopefully just one more day with Jordan stranded at home...today was Amy's turn. Dan, Coral, and Ian went to daycare, work, and school (not respectively). |
