The Florida Remberts have been in Florida for 3 Years!!!
We got some great NEWS today...Dan finally got written word that his company (Dynamac) is willing to match the offer that he got from his job interview at Eglin Air Force Base (see June 5-7).  That means that the Florida Remberts don't have to move and will be staying were they are, the Space Coast....WOO HOO!  So, to celebrate, we all went to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner!

July 2, 2003
While Dan and Amy were at work, a call came in to get our sick child...this time it was Coral.  So we left work a little early to get the kids and Coral spent the rest of the evening in bed.

July 3, 2003
Coral still had a fever and sore throat by morning, so Dan stayed home with her while Amy, Jordan and Ian went on with the day.  After work, Amy stopped to get new bedding for Jordan and then Coral was doing much better so all three of us picked up Jordan and Ian.

July 4, 2003
Happy Birthday to John and Our Country's Independence!!!
In the morning, Jordan's Big-Girl Bed arrived, so we got everthing ready for that and then put the new bedding on to top it off...woo hoo!!!  Later, with Coral doing better, we spent the day by the pool and even played with some sparklers that Amy picked up on her travels.  At night, we went to the Cocoa Village Park to watch the fireworks and get some kettle-corn.

July 5, 2003
To help celebrate John's birthday, we went over to Orlando to the Shaffer's timeshare and had some fun in the sun at the Horizon's pool!

July 6, 2003
In a courageous (or outrageous) move, Jordan joined Amy and Coral in church this week...this was the end of that experience.  She is just not ready to stay quiet or still for that long.  The rest of the day was spent "catching-up"...Dan did the bills and laundry and Amy did some food and clothes shopping after getting in some swimming with the kids.

July 7, 2003
Back to work, daycare, and summer school, with no sicknesses...woo hoo!

July 8, 2003
Not much to report....just your normal, everyday stuff.

July 9, 2003
Dan got to see the Columbia Recovery Hanger.  This is where they placed all the recovered pieces of the accident (38% of the obiter) in the shape of the orbiter.  It was amazing to see all the small and larger pieces in the exact place.  Later, we got some great NEWS about our Pittsburgh house...we finally received a bid, so now we are working out the details.

July 10, 2003
After working with both the agents involved, we have come up with a mutual agreement on the house and will be closing on or before September 5th (most likely sometime in August)...WOO HOO!  Now we just need everything to run smoothly and we will be "home-free".

July 11, 2003
After work, summer school and daycare, we were ready to get a mini-celebration going, so we stopped by Wendy's for the kids and Carrabba's for the adults and brought it home so we could really celebrate without the chase of kids.

July 12, 2003
Amy, Coral and Jordan headed off to gymnastics and Dan and Ian stayed home in the morning.  Later, we tried to get in some swimming, but the rains came too fast, so we were stuck inside and doing some laundry and a little cleaning of the garage instead.  After dinner, we all jumped in the van and went over to Merritt Island for some DQ and messy ice cream.

July 13, 2003
Dan and Coral went to church in the morning and some swimming and then some lunch and then some swimming and then some napping/shopping and then some dining.

July 14, 2003
Ian had his 15-month check-up with the doctor today...he is doing great, getting tall (guess some things he doesn't take after his dad), and weighed in at 22 lbs.  The bad news was, he had to endure 3 shots and wasn't happy about that part of the trip.

July 15, 2003
After work and then picking up the kids, we got a flat tire on the van, so we had to pull over and Dan demonstrated the reasons that all the CART teams have been recruiting him for years.  The spare tire was on in record time and we were home before anyone (Zoey) missed us.

July 16, 2003
After work, summer-school, and daycare, we got the van from the shop with a new tire and life-blood (oil) and then hurried home for a quick bite to eat and some swimming...woo hoo!

July 17, 2003
It's that time again...school supply shopping time!  We all went on a little trip to Super Wal-Mart for all our shopping and dinning (Mickey-Ds) needs.

July 18, 2003
We got pizza from a new place today, but Coral seemed to be the only one who liked it, so we may not be stopping there again.  After the pizza party, it was time to take a dip in the pool to cool off and start the weekend off on the right foot and then a quick hair cut for Dan and Ian.

July 19, 2003
Coral skipped gymnastics today because we had two birthday parties to attend...very busy social schedules for the Florida Remberts.  After the parties were over and all the errands were ran, we did some relaxing and playing.

July 20, 2003
Today Dan cut the grass and Amy did some cleaning because we had the Shaffers over for a little pool party and dinner on the grill (not to mention many 'ritas).

July 21, 2003
It's school time again!...that's right, Coral started 1st grade today at Gardendale and her teacher's name is Ms. Therrien.  She was excited to see all her friends again (most of the kids from her kindergarten class are in her class) and this year she will even have homework.

July 22, 2003
Happy 30th Birthday to Dwain!
Not much going on today, just getting into the swing of a new route to and from work.

July 23, 2003
Dan went to work early to get home early to meet a roofer to take a look at our leaking garage from all the downpours (did that sentence have enough prepositional phrases?).  Since he never showed up, Dan made a big spaghetti dinner instead.

July 24, 2003
It was Amy's turn to go in early to get some work done, but other than that and some more rain, nothing much going on with the Florida Remberts.

July 25, 2003
One of Dan's co-workers got a new job, so we went to lunch to celebrate and say good-bye at Grill's and a cool little thing happened...for those of you that are fans of "reality TV", you may know of the MTV show, "Surf Girls".  There are 2 girls on the show that are from our area, one in Cocoa Beach, Heidi, and the other in Melbourne Beach, April.  Well, as it turns out, Heidi now works at Grill's and served our lunch to us with a smile.  (Enough with the stars, back to our reality...)  Amy had another early day, so Dan was in charge of getting the pizza on the way home.
The rain held off so we did some swimming too.

July 26, 2003
Coral had gymnastics, so Amy and Jordan dropped her off and then did some shopping.  When they got home, we all had some lunch and then did some more swimming until nap-time.  While the kids took a nap, Amy took Coral for her first "real" haircut.  She got about 2 or 3 inches off but it looks very cute!  Later, Dan and Amy went out for the night with John and Krista because the old babysitters missed Jordan and Ian.  We tried a new Italian place in Cocoa Village (which was very good) and then for some drinks at Murdocks.  Since it was Amy's turn to drink, she was in her atypical, giddy, drunken mood, which if you have never seen, is very cute and funny!

July 27, 2003
This was the first weekend in a while where we were able to swim all weekend because there was no rain, so we took advantage.  Coral had a bowling, birthday party for one of her classmates in the afternoon, but that was about the extent of our travels.

July 28, 2003
Well we gave the roofer another chance to swing by and give us a quote on how much money he will be trying to steal from us, and he did exactly that...we now will be asking another roofer to compare prices.  After he left, Dan took the time to work on the mailbox, which is falling down due to all the rust.  He finished the chore right in time for the family to arrive, so we eat dinner and did all the normal "home from work, school and daycare" stuff.

July 29, 2003
Dan was in Orlando for a conference all day, and amazingly nothing out of the ordinary happened at the home-front...that's a first!

July 30, 2003
After work, Amy went out for dinner to Roadhouse in Titusville with the crew from RehabWorks.  That meant Dan was "large and in charge" of the kids.

July 31, 2003
After work, school, and daycare, we sent the kids to the babysitter's so we could go to Open House at Gardendale!  We learned all about the changes to the school and Coral's classroom.
