| Here is what is going on with the Florida Remberts |
| June 1, 2002 16 years ago Dan and Amy started "going steady"!!! After getting a good night's sleep, we had day two of "baptism school" and then they fed us lunch, which was cool. After we graduated, we celebrated by playing in the pool the rest of the day and then got a pizza to celebrate Dan and Amy's anniversary. During the night, Ian gave us another present of sleeping until 5:30! June 2, 2002 After church and some shopping for Dan and Coral, we spent the day staying out of the heat and humidity by cleaning up around the house. June 3, 2002 Back to work and daycare and even week 2 of the Dan and Amy work-out program. June 4, 2002 The last in a long line of anniversaries...the big one...8 years of Marriage for Dan and Amy! After work and daycare, we went out to El Charros for some good Mexican food to remind us of our honeymoon to Cancun. Then, after the kids were asleep, we watched the video tape of our wedding...those were some funny looking bridesmaid's dresses and Amy says she is very sorry to all of you...the tuxes stood the test of time though. June 5, 2002 Dan gave Doug a ride home to pay him back for his trips from the past...after getting the kids and some gas, they missed the STS-111 shuttle launch. Amy didn't miss it because the car wouldn't start, so she was stuck in the parking lot until Mary gave her a jump. June 6, 2002 Happy 3 Month B-day to Ian!!! Amy had AAA come to tow the Sunfire to get a new battery, did laundry, and caught up on making business calls, while Dan took the Jeep to work. On the way home, Dan stopped to pay for the new battery, came home and made dinner. After dinner, we all took a trip to Dairy Queen and got the car (Amy drove it home for some "alone time"). June 7, 2002 TGIF included coming home from work and playing with the kids...wow, how times have changed from going out and getting looped 5 or 10 years ago. June 8, 2002 Today was a work-around-the-house day because it rained most of the morning and into the afternoon, but we need the rain bad...while Amy and Coral were at gymnastics and getting some shopping done, Dan, Ian, and Jordan (well really just Dan) did a little cleaning-up. After Amy and Coral got home, they cleaned the back porch and Dan cleaned the pool. Later that night, Dan and Amy watch "Midnight Express". This is an older movie that someone from work let Dan borrow and we both thought it was pretty good. Amy gives it 2 1/2 "long winks". June 9, 2002 Shannah and Sierra met Amy and Coral at church and then came home for lunch, swimming, dinner, and playing...it was a nice day. It got even nicer when we received a call from Pittsburgh with some great and unexpected NEWS! June 10, 2002 Back to the grind today...so, let's talk about the kids. Coral is in the middle of summer rec, which is just summer school, but she is in with the kindergarden kids, which is a big deal. Jordan is becoming a person...forming more and more sentences. She is quite a personality and just fun to watch. Ian is starting to coo and goo more and more, becoming alert, and trying to move out of the infant stage and into the baby phase. He is big, almost as big as Jordan and the best part is he is sleeping until 5 or 6 and sometimes even 6:30, so Mom and Dad are happier. The days of going out and having fun are gone, but we are having just as much fun at home being with each other as a family and I wouldn't trade our life for anything! June 11, 2002 After work, Dan took Coral and Jordan to McDonald's and then to Shannah's for Sierra's 9th Birthday Party, but Amy wasn't feeling good, so she stayed home with Ian. It was an "Ice Cream Sundae Theme", so the kids played pin the cherry on the sundae and other games, but Coral was too bashful to play the games and Jordan did pretty good for the youngest kid there. All the kids (and adults) made there own sundaes...Coral and Jordan especially liked that, Dan did too! We left after the opening of the presents. On the way home, Coral said, "I had fun today". June 12, 2002 After work, we all headed out to do some shopping...first stop, BJs for some propane, gas for the car, dinner (Pizza Hut personal pan pizzas are sold at BJs), and diapers and a few other items. Next stop, Bealls Outlet at Cocoa Beach to get some bathing suits. Dan and Coral got lucky and found suits that fit, but Amy was not so lucky. June 13, 2002 Jordan had a doctor's appointment for her face, which looks almost completely cleared up, so the doctor didn't change a thing...speaking of doctors, Ian got weighed yesterday and I forgot to tell everyone...he is now 13 lbs 9 oz! Dan was going to cut the grass after work, but it was raining, so no go. After bed for the kids, Amy got some food for a shower at work tomorrow. June 14, 2002 Merry Flag Day, to all! Today at work, we had a baby shower for Doug and Kristie...Amy, like I said, got some food, and Dan was in charge of decorations...everybody said that they looked great. After work, Dan and Amy joined John, Frank, Shannah, and Mark for a quick drink at the King Duck Inn or KDI to the locals...a place comparable to Alexions for all of you back home. And on the grass watch...hard rain storm postponed the cut for another day. June 15, 2002 Today the Florida Remberts sold some of their stuff to make room for more guests at their Garage Sale. It didn't go too bad, we got rid of the big stuff and some baby clothes, but the weather kept some people away...yes, more hard rain, so no cutting the grass again. With the money we made, we went to Wal Mart and got a bookself for some video tapes. June 16, 2002 Yo, Pops...Happy F-Day!!! We spent the day trying to balance the pool and get the green out. More rain, so no cut. June 17, 2002 This morning before Amy left, we had a new exterminator come for an annual spray...don't worry we are not having any more problem, but we don't want any either. In the afternoon, Dan and Coral went to the doctor's to get a physical for kindergarden...she is doing good, she is 44 inches and 38 pounds and her hearing is better. Dan added some New Pictures. June 18, 2002 After work, Amy went to Cocoa Beach to get the bathing suit that she missed out on the other day, then she did a little shopping at BJs before she got the kids. Once Dan got home and we finished dinner, a game of hide-and-seek broke out. June 19, 2002 Amy and Dan started to offically ride to work together this morning, so that we could save some time (get the kids ready together), money (only take one car to work), and head-aches (3 kids at 7 AM screaming and running around is hard work for one person). After work, we got home to another rain storm (that is more than a week of hard rain), so we ordered pizza and waited for our next guests, which arrived at about 7:30 right in time to have some pizza. June 20, 2002 Coral had a dentist appointment and it turns out that she has an irregular bite...what ever that means. So, she will have to go back sometime to get that checked out. Amy also had a doctor's appointment. Still raining, so just a little swimming in the morning and no cutting of the grass. June 21, 2002 Because of another rain delay, no swimming, so Aunt Lor took the kids to see "Scooby Doo"...they all liked the movie! Dan went out with Doug, Kristie, Shannah and Chuck after work. June 22, 2002 More rain stopped us from swimming again today. Becky and Nina dropped in the Bolton Bed and Breakfast for a quick day-visit, so that helped with keeping us from getting cabin fever. After dinner, Becky and Nina left and the kids went to bed, so Dan, Amy and Lorie watched "Don't Say a Word", which was pretty good. Amy gives it 2 1/2 "long winks". June 23, 2002 Dan, Amy and Coral went to church and then the sun finally broke through long enough to get an afternoon of swimming in and Dan even got to cut the grass in the front yard. John, Erin and Tuffer even came over to get some swimming and playing in before the rains came back at about 4 PM. After dinner, Lorie and Halee went to do some shopping for bathing suits and then Dan said his good-byes because he is leaving tomorrow for training in Tampa. June 24, 2002 Dan left for Tampa for some training for work and Amy worked all day, while everybody else was trapped inside because of all the rain. June 25, 2002 Dan was in training in Tampa and Amy worked half a day, so after she got home, they all did some shopping and ate out..."while the cat's away" kinda stuff. June 26, 2002 Dan finished up his training and got tested to be a "Certified Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Inspector" and then traveled home. Amy went to work, while Lorie and the kids packed-up and left to maybe get some good weather back in Pittsburgh. June 27, 2002 Amy got to spend her day off in the dentist office and end up with bad news...she needs some work done that is not going to be fun. Speaking of fun...after the dentist, she got Coral, Jordan, and Ian and met Helen and Lorie and all their kids at McDonald's. June 28, 2002 At work, Dan and Amy had a Fourth-of-July picnic for everyone on the contract, which included them. After the picnic, Dan, Amy, Shannah, and Julian (the Rehab Works Intern) went on a field trip around KSC and the Cape. First we saw a huge dolphin and some manatee in the Banana River...then it was off to the beach...then we went to the site of the Apollo 1 accident (Launch Complex 34) to read the placard in memory of the crew...then back to work. June 29, 2002 Amy took Coral and Ian to gymnastics (Ian didn't do much flipping or tumbling), while Jordan watched some TV and Dan did some work around the house and with the pool. Later, Dan cut ALL the grass, finally, while Amy and the kids did some swimming (Ian still was not active and just slept in his swing). By the time Dan got done with the grass, he got in about 15 minutes of swimming before the rains started up again...oh well. June 30, 2002 After Dan and Coral got back from church and Wal-Mart, the rains kept everyone inside and on the porch all day...it rained so hard that most of the yard was under water. |
