| May 1, 2002 Congratulations goes out to a happy young couple in South Korea...they put the final bid of $234,500 on Ebay for Dan's "love juice" (all proceeds are going to charity). Good luck with your "specimen". So the next time you are visiting Pusan, see if you can pick out the Dan look alike. Now for the bad part...if you are planning on having a Vasectomy...TURN BACK NOW! That was possibly the worst 20 minutes of Dan's life (and remember, he was in an auto accident that broke the biggest bone in his body). He made the mistake of trusting all the guys that said, "it's not so bad". Dan is now going to work to stop the propaganda spread by females that like to see guys in pain to make up for child birth and guys that don't want to be the only stupid one that fell for the oldest trick in the book. What did Dan ever do to you?! The chop stops here. May 2, 2002 Recovery for Dan is going good...ice seems to do the trick. Ian had a doctor's appointment today...he is also doing good. He is up to 10 lbs 8 oz, but he had to get 5 (yes, five) shots, so the rest of the day he was pretty cranky. After the doctor hurt Ian, Amy went to the Gardendale (Coral's new school) parent orientation. May 3, 2002 Coral had a field trip to the beach today, which went well, but they forgot to put some sun screen on her, so no more sun for her the rest of the day. Later that night, Dan and Amy enjoyed their first night out since Ian was born thanks to Sandy and John. They went on the gambling boat with Shannah, David, Denise (Dan's NASA boss), Fernando (Denise's husband), and Fernando's dad...Dan won about $150, but Amy lost about $10. May 4, 2002 Happy 2nd B-day to Jordan!!! We celebrated by having a little swimming party...first Shannah came over, then Sandy and John, then Deanna (the person who introduced Dan and Amy), Kenny (her husband) and Taylor (their son). They were in Florida on vacation so they stopped by during a trip from Ft. Lauderdale to Orlando. We had burgers and dogs on the grill and then cake later on. May 5, 2002 Happy Cinco de Mayo!!! We all relaxed in the pool for the whole day in true Mexican siesta-form. May 6, 2002 Happy 2 Month Birthday to Ian!!! Today was another big day of firsts...it was Amy's first day back to work, but she was too busy to have lunch with Dan, and it was Ian's first day at daycare, he made time to have lunch with Jordan. After a long day of work and daycare, we spent the evening cleaning the house because the exterminator came earlier in the day to spray for ticks that Zoey brought in from the back yard. Does the infestation ever end? Later in the evening, we all said good-bye to Sandy and John because they were leaving the next day while we are all at work, school or daycare. May 7, 2002 Today we got into our regular routine of work, school, and daycare with no one visiting or staying with us and Amy back to work...the first time in almost 9 weeks. May 8, 2002 So much for getting into a routine...Amy had to leave work in the morning because Jordan was sick at daycare and the rest of the day. May 9, 2002 Amy had the day off (Thursday)...she didn't want to take Jordan out while she is sick, so Coral stayed home from school, too. They used this time to help Jordan get better. May 10, 2002 Well Jordan is feeling better, so we were all back to the grind of school, daycare and work. After the kids were in bed, Dan and Amy watched "Ocean's Eleven", which Dan bought...Dan loved it, one of the best movies he has seen in a while with big time star power that didn't over-do the story line, which sometimes happens...the jury's still out with Amy, she feel asleep, but not because of the movie, just because she was very tired from her first week back to work, according to her. So we will have to wait for a rating. May 11, 2002 Today was a day of work...Dan went to Lowes to get some stuff and then Amy took Coral to gymnastics, but once that was over, it was work time. We cleaned the pool, cleaned the bedroom closet, fixed Zoey's doggie door, and fertilized and watered the yard. For dinner, we had some pizza on the back porch. After dinner, Dan wasn't feeling too good, maybe he got what Jordan had. Ian had his first taste of rice cereal, later to see if that would help him sleep through the night...he ate the whole bowl, but was up during the night, oh well. May 12, 2002 Happy Mom's Day!!! Happy B-Day to Marie!!! Dan was sick all day, so Amy's mother's day was not as good as it should have been, but luckily the kids were good and didn't cause too much havoc. May 13, 2002 Dan has been living in Florida 2 years! Dan is feeling better, although he still has some kind of acid reflux-thing going on, so he made it in to work...Amy started her workout at work, during her break...Jordan and Ian are both doing good and went to daycare...Coral is doing great at school, as Mrs. Millhouse said, "What a difference from last year, she is much more confident". May 14, 2002 Dan added some more Top Ten Lists...check them out! He is always looking for more ideas, so don't be bashful. Today was Coral's "End of the Year Program". All the kids sang so loud and Coral was even picked to be the Flag Bearer...She did great. May 15, 2002 Dan has been working at KSC for 2 years!!! After work, school, daycare, and dinner, we all took a long walk in two strollers around Levitt Park on a very comfortable evening. May 16, 2002 While Dan was at work, Amy took Jordan (and Ian) to her 2-year check-up...she is only up to 22 lbs...Ian weighed-in at 11 1/2 lbs, so he is more than half her size! Later, Amy had a parent-teacher conference and found out that Coral is ready to move on to kindergarden...she had only great things to say! And of course, Rachel had her baby last night. May 17, 2002 Happy Friday! Not much going on, just resting up for the weekend... Boy, we miss the days of celebrating Fridays! May 18, 2002 Amy, Coral and Jordan went to a birthday party, while Dan stayed home with Ian and put in a new garbage desposal. After the party, Amy got her hair highlighted (blond) and trimmed...the rest of the day was spent doing little things around the house. May 19, 2002 Dan and Coral went to church and shopping and then we all spent the day inside doing a few things around the house and relaxing because it rained for the first time in about a month or more. After bedtime for the kids, Dan and Amy watched the "Survivor IV" finale. May 20, 2002 After Dan got home with the kids, Jordan decided to open a jar of green nail polish and get it on the carpet (which was already green, thank goodness), her hands, her face around her mouth, her clothes, and dad's hands, but luckily it came out and didn't stain. Needless to say, she spent the night in her room...gotta love the terrible-twos. May 21, 2002 At work, Dan's office is having an audit/inspection from the State of Florida and the EPA...this means that it is very busy, but he gets to go out and see the exciting stuff. Amy had the day off because Coral's after school daycare is closed today. May 22, 2002 16 years ago today, Dan and Amy "got together" at Kennywood...the rest is history! More inspection stuff for Dan...he got to go to the pad and see the shuttle up close and personal, the shuttle is ready to go next week (30th). Back at home, Ian still isn't sleeping through the night, so Dan and Amy are trying all the tricks to get him to sleep...to no avail. May 23, 2002 After work, Amy had another doctor's appointment cancelled...boy, she really is not having any luck with that office! On the inspection front, Dan got to go into the Launch Control Center for the first time today. It was cool to see the rows and rows of consoles for all the engineers that get the shuttle off the ground. May 24, 2002 Now that the EPA and State have left, a few people from work got together at KARS Park for a picnic during the afternoon and evening...Dan got the kids and showed up around 3:30 and Amy came after work at about 5. Coral and Jordan got nice and dirty while playing on the playground and swings, so they must of had fun. May 25, 2002 Today we cleaned out the garage to get ready for a garage sale that we hope to have in a few weeks. We went through all the boxes and rearranged everything and now can make some money selling our stuff to strangers. May 26, 2002 After Coral and Amy got back from church and the store, we did some cleaning around the house and then some swimming in the pool...half work/half play. Dan watched and missed the Indy 500...this is the first year since '98 not going. Amy finally finished watching "Ocean's 11" and agreed with Dan that this is one of the best movies of the year...she gives it 1/2 "long wink". May 27, 2002 Happy Memorial Day!!! On a day reserved for the armed forces, we would also like to remember the civilians that also died for our country and our freedom. Yesterday was half and half, today was 100% play. May 28, 2002 Back to work and daycare...Dan felt good enough to join Amy at the Fitness Center at work...once again we will see how long this lasts. Dan added pictures of the picnic from Friday. May 29, 2002 Not too much going on here, so make sure to check out the new "Family Album" format. May 30, 2002 16 Years ago, Dan and Amy went on their first official date! Ian's eye tear duct is still not cleared-up, so Amy took him and the rest of the gang to the doctor's... he got some eye drops and also got weighed again, now he is up to 13 lbs 2 oz. The launch got scrubbed, so they will try again tomorrow. Speaking of launches, the Florida Remberts Website now introduces Web Forum! May 31, 2002 After work and daycare, we all went to "baptism school" where Dan and Amy learned how to get Ian baptised, while Jordan and Coral played at the church's child care facility. When we were there at class, one of the other students told Ian to sleep through the night, and it worked!...Ian finally (yes, we are spoiled) slept until 6:30 the next morning...Woo Hoo! |
