15 years ago, Dan and Amy started dating and haven't stopped since (well for the most part)...so we decided to go out to celebrate this and went to Alma's Resturaunt in Cocoa Beach.  The food there is very good!  Then we met Shannah and David at Chili's...Dan had some margaritas and Amy had dessert!

June 2, 2001
Dan cut the back yard grass and then cleaned the pool.  After most of the grass was cleaned out, Amy, Coral and Dan went swimming because it was too hot to do anything else.  When Dan checked the mail, he found a letter from UCF accepting him into their Environmental Engineering Master's Degree program, but on the down side, Dan would have to take 6 extra pre-graduate classes to graduate (that's at least 18 more credits...the total graduate program is 30-36 total credits).  So, for those of you counting, Dan would have to take 50% more classes just to get the stupid MS...we'll see what FSU has to offer.  Later on, Sandy and John stopped by to do a last swim and say goodbye.  They left in the nick of time because the thunderstorms rolled in and flooded the place!

June 3, 2001
Dan and Coral did the church thing and Amy cleaned the windows.  While Amy was finishing the windows, Dan cut the front yard grass.  Once again it was hot!!!!  So after Dan finished, we all did a little swimming (well, we laid on the floats really), even Jordan played in her new baby pool before her nap.  Looked like another round of evening thunderstorms may flood us again, but it never really rained, just thundered...this is the kind of weather we expected from Florida...sun all day, then rain in the evening, but this is really the first time we have seen this pattern.

June 4, 2001
Amy and Dan got hitched 7 years ago today!!!  To celebrate (yes, we have been celebrating again) we went to Steak -N- Shake...the only place fast enough when you have kids.  We also found out some great news...we will be flying to Pittsburgh instead of driving for Neal's wedding in July!  (Thanks Sandy)  Dan is very happy that he doesn't have to drive for 14 hours, Amy is happy that she doesn't have to amuse the kids for 14 hours, Coral is happy that she gets to ride on a plane again, and Jordan is happy that she doesn't have to hear Mommy amuse her for 14 hours!

HOT DAY...after work and daycare, we all did some swimming because it was HOT!  Later that night we took a long walk...we are going to try to make this a Tuesday thing.

June 6, 2001
After work and daycare, we went to Micky-D's and then to Publix to go food shopping...you know what that means...visitors must be coming.

June 7, 2001
Cleaned...worked...continued to try to walk...watched a new tape...the life of the Florida Remberts on an uneventful day.

June 8, 2001
Amy cleaned all day for the guests, while Dan was at work.  Coral is doing real good at swimming w/o her swimmies...she is doing flips in the water and going down the slide and swimming in the deep end and all kinds of tricks!  After Dan got home and helped Amy clean a little, we watched Traffic.  We borrowed this from a guy at Dan's work.  This movie was excellent!  Zero "long winks" from Amy, too!  If you get a chance to rent it or buy it, do it!

June 9, 2001
Dan cut the grass and cleaned the pool while Amy did some shopping and finished cleaning the house.  At about 3:30, Amy left to pick up Heather, D.J., Nick, and Kasey.  They finally got to the Bolton Bed and Breakfast at about 7...we got some pizza and Coral and Nick played in pool for a while before it started to storm.  We all talked and then went to bed.

June 10, 2001
Heather and Amy went food shopping in the morning while D.J. and Dan watched the kids and did a little swimming before they left for the Orlando Predators game.  While Dan and D.J. were at the game, Heather and Amy and the kids did a lot of swimming and Jordan was taking more steps than usual.  Meanwhile at the game...we went with John and Mark from Dan's work.  Before the game started, a guy from the Predators promotions asks us if we wanted to kick field goals during a break in the game for prizes.  You have to understand that this is done in front of a wild crowd and the field goal posts are about 5 feet apart, so there was no way Dan was doing this!  But John and D.J. said they would.  So the time came when they took the field...John came out whistling and yelling, trying to get the fans all fired-up and D.J. quietly took the field.  John trys from 10 yards, bloops one up in the air, far from hitting anything except the ground.  Now it is D.J.'s turn...when you look down at his foot, he has NO SHOE ON the kicking foot and a loafer on the other.  He lines up the kick and POW...splits the uprights!  The ball didn't even reach the pinnacle yet when it hit the net.  The crowd is in shock...they have never seen a fan hit it from that distance!  Then the 5 yard and more of the same...D.J. is a local hero...the foot is a bigger hero!  People after the game were coming up to us to congratulate D.J. and laugh at John and that is why Dan did not attempt the kick.  But don't feel bad for John, he got a $30 gift certificate for trying and he took it all very well.  So the next time you see D.J., ask to see the signed Predators 2000 AFL Champions Football he won and ask to see the foot.

June 11, 2001
While the Florida Remberts were at work and daycare, our guests spent the day with D.J.'s Grandma in Satellite Beach.

June 12, 2001
Both Amy and Kasey got sick today, so it was chaos at the Bolton Bed and Breakfast this evening...but the good news is, what has been going around has just been a 24 hour thing, so hopefully they will be OK tomorrow.

June 13, 2001
While the Florida Remberts were at work and daycare, our guests spent the day (and I mean the whole day) at Disney's Magic Kingdom.  Amy is much better...must have been a 24-hour thing.

June 14, 2001
Merry Flag Day!  Jordan did a great job eating today...so Amy and Dan were very happy about that!  While Dan was at work, Amy and Heather and the kids did some swimming and D.J. got to hit the links and fit in 18 before the thunderstorms threatened.  Later that night, Amy and Heather went out to dinner at Chili's while Dan and D.J. watched the kids.

June 15, 2001
Another good day of eating for Jordan!  Tornado touched down at KSC, so Dan had to stay at work a little late.  On his way home, he picked up some margarita mix and Dan and D.J. enjoyed them all night.  Heather and D.J. were kind enough to treat us to dinner for staying at the Bolton Bed and Breakfast all week.  We went down the road to Chowders Restaurant on US 1.  Everyone enjoyed their food and we all had a great time.  After the kids went to bed, we watched "Miss Congeniality" (two "long winks") and then we took a night swim around midnight.

June 16, 2001
Dan made chocolate-chip pancakes for everyone in the morning and then we all did some swimming before it was time for our guests to leave.  We had a fun week, but now it was time to get ready for our next guests on Tuesday.

June 17, 2001
A Big Shout-Out to all the Daddies!!!!  Coral and Dan went to church and then we all swam and relaxed all day, especially Dan.  Amy made spaghetti for dinner (with turkey meatballs for Dan).

June 18, 2001
Our friend, Melissa (the photographer), had her baby girl, Julia...way to go Melissa!  Jordan had a slight fever (probably from new teeth coming in, we hope), so Amy stayed home from work and cleaned the house and the pool for the next guests.  Later that night, Dan and Amy watched "LA Confidential" (yes, it took us this long to finally see this movie from 1997).  Amy wanted it to be known that even though we are going to give it half a "long wink", she actually never feel asleep, that is how good this movie is!

June 19, 2001
Dan took some pictures of Amy at work and some Pictures of our Friends have been added to the website, make sure to check them out.  Jordan did a lot of walking around at daycare...looks like she may be ready to be called a walker soon.  After work and daycare, Dan packed for his big trip to Vegas for Rich and Deni's wedding and Amy picked up Lorie, Halee, and Chloee at the airport...they arrived at the Bolton Bed and Breakfast around 9:30.

June 20, 2001
Well the madness started today...Dan left for Vegas at about 10:30 PM and Amy picked up Sandy and Gi Gi at the airport at about 8:30 PM, they probably passed each other on the Bee-Line.  Dan was greeted by Marie, Judy, Rich, Deni and Sherry at the gate.  After checking in the New York, New York, Dan and Marie got right to gambling and Dan won $253 at video poker...what a way to get you hooked, but that's Vegas for ya!

June 21, 2001
Coral was not feeling good...she started feeling bad yesterday and it continued to get worse today with her getting sick.  The good news from the house is Jordan is really walking around good...now she has to learn to get up when she falls down.  Dan continued his good luck when he, Marie, Judy, and Sherry toured some other casinos and Dan won some more.  Then Marie and Dan sat by the pool in the afternoon...it was 107 degrees, but it's a dry heat (that makes me laugh, my oven is a dry heat too, but I don't go sitting in there).  Later that night, we met up with Rich and Deni, ate, and did some more gambling until Whitey, Elaine and Matty showed up late and then we did even more gambling!

June 22, 2001
More bad news from the front, now Chloee is sick, but Jordan and Halee are fine.  Dan realized today that 107 degrees (dry heat or not) is too hot to do anything outside and he has a pool in his back yard, so he spent the day gambling while Marie went to the pool and Judy and Sherry toured some more.  Later that night, we all met up for Rich and Deni's last night as singles.  There was a group of about 15 or 20 of us who hung out until about 1 AM.  That is when the fun really got started...the group dwindled down to Dan, Matty, and Rich.  Here are some highlights from the "Bachelor Party" (most of which will seem like inside jokes, but that's ok)...Dan and Rich hit it big in roulette at Barbary Coast, Rich hit the "Wheel of Fortune" slot for about $200 at Caesar's Palace, we saw the "sharks dance" at Mandalay Bay, Dan got "all Rummy and Cokey" at the Luxor, and then we ended up back at Excalibur for some real money gambling at the roulette wheel.  All-in-all, we saw alot of stuff that made us laugh and I think we even tried out for "Riverdance".  We finally went to sleep at about 8 AM (that's 11 AM EDT) after "being up for a while" and having breakfast on the day of Rich's wedding.

June 23, 2001
While everyone back in Florida was trying to get better, Dan was best man in Rich's wedding along with Matty.  The wedding was beautiful and so were the bride and groom.  It started at 3:30 PM at the Excalibur and it lasted about half an hour.  After the wedding, we all went to Deni's sister, Kathy and her husband, Ken's suite at the Riveria, for a reception.  Their place was huge and gorgeous and even had a balcony.  After the reception, we all did some more gambling until it was time to go to bed.

June 24, 2001
Today is Dan's last day in magical Las Vegas, so we just did a little more gambling, touring, and relaxing before our flights later that night.  Dan ended up leaving Vegas with less money then he brought, but that included meals and the room.  Not much going on at home...just alot of trying to get better and swimming.

June 25, 2001
After the red-eye back to Orlando, Dan went to the Air & Waste Management Association Conference in Orlando...needless to say, he didn't last the whole day.  After getting home, he took a nap before Amy got home from work.  Everybody else was swimming the whole day.

June 26, 2001
Today, while Dan was at the conference, we found out some bad news...Dan's Grandmother on his Dad's side, passed away.  She was 84 years old and was not doing so well.  She just got out of the hospital where she found out that she had cancer in several parts of her body.  At least she died in her own bed before she got very bad.  She was a great woman and was very good to Dan and the rest of his family and will be greatly missed.  Because of this news, Dan had to get on Priceline.com to get a plane ticket to Pittsburgh.

June 27, 2001
Dan went to the Conference, Amy went to work, Jordan went to daycare, and Coral played in the pool with her cousins.  After the conference, Dan caught a plane to Pittsburgh via Atlanta for his Gram's funeral.  He got to the funeral just before they closed at 9 PM.

June 28, 2001
Jordan went to the doctor's today to see if she gained any weight and the doctor was glad to see that she gained a pound.  It was a long day at the funeral home...visitation was from 2 'til 9.  Dan got to meet alot of Gene's childhood friends (well, actually, he got to see them again...he got alot of: "I haven't seen you since you were this big") and even the guy that introduced Judy and Gene...wasn't that nice...Dan was very appreciative of him!  Dan also got to see many of his friends and family that he doesn't often see...thanks to all of you that were kind enough to take time out of your busy schedules to show your sympathy, it was very kind of you and is very much appreciated...it was also nice to see everyone.

June 29, 2001
Today was Gram's funeral...Dan read during the mass and was also a pallbearer.  After the funeral, we got to see her crypt which is next to my grandpap's.  We then had a wake with lots of good food and lots of good memories...  Later that night, Dan met up with Eric and Dave.  Florida had pretty much the same stuff...lots of swimming and playing.

June 30, 2001
Still not much going on in Florida...the same old stuff.  After Dan finally caught up on some much needed sleep and relaxed most of the day, Neal and Jill had their "Jack and Jill" which is a bachelor party that the girls attend...it started off with a video scavenger hunt and then we all met back at Paparazzi's for pizza, beer and to show the videos...most of them were funny.  Dan's team came in 3rd out of 5 and Neal's team came in 5th.
