Dehydration set in today and we all spent the entire day at the hospital watching Jordan's "IV" rehydrate her little body back to recovery.  Well, this may have been a little mean to fool you with this one, but it is only an April Fool's storyand now for the real story.  Jordan is still sick, but the waves of nausea are few and farther between.  Coral also spent the day in bed with a headache and slight fever, but this may have been from too much fun over the last few days with camping and sleep-overs.  Ian and Amy went to a birthday party most of the afternoon, which was good to keep Ian, our last healthy hope, away from the sicknesses.

April 2, 2007
Soon after a useless trip to the doctor's office where they did tests for a urinary track infection for some unknown reason, Jordan started feeling much better and was up and about by the evening.  Coral also felt better and even attended her softball game, but the star of the day was Ian who returned to school with no signs of slowing down (knock on wood).

April 3, 2007
In what has been deemed the day of recovery, it seems that both Jordan and Coral will be returning to all-day care soon with the sicknesses finally worked out of the systems.  Amy was probably the happiest because she was forced to stay home (Dan is not permitted time off until after the probationary period) and then went to work in the evening to get some tasks completed.

April 4, 2007
Once we got Jordan and Coral back, the next was ready to go down.  While at work and during Corals softball game, Dan started feeling that something wasnt right and it came on more later in the evening.  After her game, Coral stayed over at Marisas house for a sleep over party.

April 5, 2007
Well just as we suspected, Dan woke with an intestinal problem that kept him home from work and in bed the entire day.  Coral spent the day at the beach and other fun places with Marisa and her family.  After work, Amy picked Jordan and Ian up and met Coral at the softball field for her practice.  Then after practice, they went to Fishlips for dinner with the Lunays.

April 6, 2007
Amy spent the day at home because Jordan and Corals day care was closed for Good Friday and Dan spent the day at home because he was sick as a dog.  Ian went into school just in the morning to practice his graduation ceremony, but after that was done, Amy took the kids to see Meet the Robinsons, which the kids liked and Amy thought it was cute.  The evening found them in the same old place as any normal Friday, gymnastics.

April 7, 2007
While Dan continued touring the bed and bathrooms and got to know every nook and cranny of each of the rooms, Coral went to Laurens to play, Amy completed the final Easter assignments, and Jordan and Ian played around the house in anticipation for the Easter bunnys visit.

April 8, 2007
Happy Easter!!!
Dan was still unable to get out of bed to see Coral, Jordan, and Ian find their baskets in the house and all the hidden eggs around the yard.  Dan was also too sick to eat the pancakes, watch the new movies, or partake in the chocolates or candies found in the baskets.  Dan was also too ill to roast the chicken and cook the side dishes that were planned for the day.  On the same day that Christ rose from his grave, Dan could not do the same.  Hope this gloomy report doesnt bring your party down like it did ours.  Dan did eventually feel better as the day went on and was even well enough by evening to get up out of bed to yell at the kids while they were on their chocolate high.

April 9, 2007
Dan got well enough just in time to go to workwhen does the fun start?  The last day of all-day care and spring break found the group including Jordan and Coral at the Ice-plex doing some ice-skating.  Jordan spent the entire time on the ice with the aid of a walker (or skater in this case) and Coral did a great job of staying on her feet on her own.  Later, the light rain didnt stop the Grape Apes from playing and Coral even pulled off an unassisted double-play when she caught a fly ball and tagged out the player on third base.

April 10, 2007
With nothing to do, we just watched the rain fall most of the day.

April 11, 2007
Back to the warmer, sunny weather.  We are also getting back to the normal schedule with school, work, and homework and then a softball game for Coral in the evening.

April 12, 2007
After school and work, Dan took Coral to practice, but it turned out to be more.  She and 2 others from her team were asked to play on a short-handed team in the older division.  A few of the rules are different, but Coral caught on and did pretty wellshe must be ready for the next level.

April 13, 2007
Not much to report, just your normal Friday night of gymnastics and relaxing around the house.

April 14, 2007
Amy spent most of the afternoon running back and forth with Ian from Palm Bay where Jordan and Coral attended a Birthday and sleep-over party.  While Amy was traveling up and down I-95, Dan was out in the yard and vastly improved the state of the grassnow the spring growing season must take over to fill in the patches.  In the evening, Ian had a kids night out at his school and had almost as much fun as Dan and Amy did at Carrabbas with John and Krista.  In spite of the fact that it was Prom night for Merritt Island High Schoolers, the higher volume of customers just slowed things down and helped us enjoy every course of the meal and the nice conversation.

April 15, 2007
Amy got up early and picked up Coral and Jordan in Palm Bay who were tired from lack of sleep and fun overload until 2 AM.  On their way back, they picked up breakfast and brought it home to Dan and Ian.  Later, we took advantage of rainy weather and gift cards as Dan and Amy did some shopping at the Avenues in Viera.  Coral, Jordan, and Ian also shopped a little and prevented boredom from setting in too much.

April 16, 2007
It was the first Monday back to school for Coral and Jordan, so you can imagine how tough it was to get them motivated, especially after a fun-filled weekend and lack of rest they got.  Ian is getting excited about his upcoming graduation from preschool; he even started counting down the weeks.  Coral finished the day with another softball gamethe season is in full swing now.

April 17, 2007
One of the worst parts of growing older is the increased obligation of funerals that scarcely existed as a kid.  This afternoon Dan attended a funeral for Dougs (Dans co-worker and friend) dad, Clydeour thoughts and prayers go out to the Durham family.  Later with no planned activities, we ran some errandsDan got the pizza and batteries for a few electronics and Amy took Jordan and Coral for their hair cuts and Ian tagged along.

April 18, 2007
After 4 1/2 years as a Secretary II with Bionetics, Amy was finally promoted to Secretary III with a good pay raise to bootwoo hoo!!!  Coral and Jordan got their pictures taken today at schoolthese are the ones with classmates and activities groups, but they sure looked cute!  Coral later had her softball game with a twist.  For the first time this year, Coral played first base and pitcher (she usually plays third) and the girls were allowed to steal bases.  Both these hooks helped spice-up the game and in one inning Coral made all three outs unassisted while at first base.

April 19, 2007
After work and school, Coral's practice was cancelled, so she went with the Taffers to Piccadilly's.  Jordan's hip-hop class went off without a hitch and they are ready for their upcoming performance.  After everyone, except Coral arrived home, we packed our bags and got prepared for our surprise trip to Pittsburgh for Cousin Brendan's 1st Birthday Party.

April 20, 2007
Happy 1st Birthday to Brendan!!!
After work and school, we packed up the van, drove to the airport, and hopped on the plane for a quick weekend trip to Pittsburgh!  We were greeted by Gene, Judy, Marie, and the guest of honor, Brendan at the airport for a ride to our temporary home.  We were then whisked away to casa de Gahagen where Dwain and the pizza guy awaited our arrival.

April 21, 2007
We partied at the Gahagen house most of the day and were greeted by old friends and made some new onesgenerally had a good ol time!  The kids especially liked running around their big yard with other kids.  Most of the people at the party were unaware of our arrival and ended up surprised when they saw a Rembert for the first time.  Just like the baptism party, a poker game broke out after most guests left.

April 22, 2007
We woke up and got ready to head back home to Floridawe caught an early, uneventful flight back to Orlando, swung by the Shaffers to pick up Zoey from her mini-vacation, and made it home by 2:30 in the afternoon.  The rest of the day was all about the restoration of our normal livesthe kids had a hard time adjusting to life without their little friends and missed Cousin Brendan a lot while Dan and Amy were just plain tired!

April 23, 2007
After a quick, weekend vacation, it was tough to get back to school and work.  Dan started the day off with a trip to the dentist and luckily has nothing to report.  Amy and Coral ended the day with a trip to the softball field.

April 24, 2007
Not much to reportstill getting used to our normal lives.

April 25, 2007
Corals softball team had a good night to go along with Corals good individual efforts.  Coral seems to have found a niche at first base where she had another unassisted double play and her hitting for the evening was outstanding too, but the game itself was the highlight.  Down by three runs in the last inning, the winning score was drove in by Corals team with only one out left in the gameexciting stuff for the kids and the parents.

April 26, 2007
After school and work, things got kinda busyit started with Jordans hip-hop class and then Coral softball practice, with a little Ians Kindergarten sign-up sprinkled in-between for good measure.

April 27, 2007
Jordans class had a field-trip today and watched the high-schoolers perform High School Musical.  After school and work, we got busy with gymnastics and tee-ball and a quick trip to BJs to stock-up.  In other news, Dan and Amy booked their flight for their next trip to Vegas today!

April 28, 2007
We started the day off at the tee-ball field with a special visitor, Ms. Marijke who wanted to watch Ian in action with his teammates.  After the game, Marijke joined us at our house as the baby-sitter so Dan and Amy could have some adult-style fun on the bars and bikes run in Cocoa Beach.  The event was for Sloan Kettering Memorial Center for Cancer Research and was a blastwe plan on joining them for years to come!

April 29, 2007
All the fun of yesterday caused our late start today, but we were able to get the kids to their last CCD class of the year.  While they were at class, Dan and Amy ate breakfast and shopped at Publix and the Dollar store.  Immediately following CCD, we dropped Jordan off at hip-hop for her dress rehearsal before next weeks show and dropped Coral off at the Lanays for Marisas recital.  The rest of the day was spent tying up loose ends around the house.

April 30, 2007
Once we got Coral to her game, things calmed down long enough to get laundry and dinner prepared.
