Dan and Amy lost their jobs because their contract was eliminated this week.  This is "OK" because we were warned by our NASA friends and Dan was searching for a new job.  He found one at a huge company in the mid-west.  The interviews these past few weeks went very well and we will be packing up and leaving for the new job May 1st.  April Fools! and now for the real stories of the day (our readers are very gullible and believe every thing they read...that is why we love them).  After our morning chores, we spent the entire day right down the street at the Devine Mercy carnival.  The kids had a blast and rode all the rides like 5 times each.

April 2, 2006
Because of the time change of the annual "Daylight Savings Festival", Amy and the kids slept in past the time to get to church on time so they only attended CCD this week.  In the afternoon, Ian and Jordan jumped in the pool for the first time this season and were in and out all day while Dan and Amy did some clean-up duties on and around the patio.  After dinner, Coral was picked-up for a sleep over party at Marisa's house.

April 3, 2006
Jordan and Coral had one more day away from school (teacher in-service day) so Jordan spent it at all-day care with her friends and Coral spent it with Marisa.  Ian had a great day at school where he was praised for listening well and doing well in his school work.

April 4, 2006
Jordan and Coral were both happy to be back at school and are ready to take on their last 9-weeks with a vengeance.  After school and work, we switched it up and Dan stayed home and played games with Ian for some one-on-one fun while Amy took Jordan to Corals game where she played very well and during one inning was involved with all three of the outs.

April 5, 2006
With a day-off from softball, the only evening activities we attended were Amy's involvement with a GEMS meeting about some high drama at the school.

April 6, 2006
Once again we all made it out to the ball field for Coral's game...it was nice to get everyone back to the routine after the week off and school stuff.

April 7, 2006
Dan and Amy split the gymnastics times, but that was the end of the excitement for the day.

April 8, 2006
Amy helped John by making huge sacrifice and went to La Bella Spa for the day with Krista to get her out of the house for her surprise 40th birthday partyAmy should be sainted.  After Amy and Krista arrived late (they kept on getting extra treatments to avoid coming home and ending the day of relaxation), Krista was surprised and the party kept rolling through the evening.

April 9, 2006
Amy went to Palm Sunday mass and Jordan and Coral had their last CCD class for the year, while Amy did the weekly food shopping.  Dan did the weekly laundry because he would be in Vegas for training and fun for the week, so make sure to check back to read all about the trip in the Vegas Diary.  After hanging around and relaxing most of the day, Amy, Coral, Jordan, and Ian dropped Dan off at the airport just before bedtime.

April 10, 2006
Dan met up with cousin Matt and 3 of his friends, Morgan, Dave, and Timmy, in Vegas for some drinking, gambling, and general fun.  Amy and the kids met up with Genese, Troy, and their kids for Gardendale night at Sonny's BBQ.

April 11, 2006
After work, school, and daycare, Amy, Jordan, and Ian took Coral to her softball game.  Meanwhile back in Vegas, Dan continued giving money to his favorite charitythe Vegas casino.

April 12, 2006
Coral had some exciting news today at schoolshe and Marisa were chosen to represent Gardendale at the Young Authors seminar for their book about the Titanic.  Dan said good-bye to Matt and his buddies and spent the rest of the day trying to win his money back.

April 13, 2006
Dan stopped the "fun" and started the "work", but the way things were going with the gambling you would think those words were backwards.  Dan attended his first day of training and tried to make his evening funds last as long as he could.  After work, school, and daycare, Amy, Jordan, and Ian took Coral to her softball game.

April 14, 2006
Amy took Jordan, Ian, Coral, and Lauren to Ron Jon's for the day and spent half the day at the pool and half at the beach.  Dan continued his training class and left Vegas at the end of the day.

April 15, 2006
Dan arrived back in Orlando after taking the red-eye from Vegas (make sure to check out the Vegas Diary) and got a ride home with Genese who works for Delta and was in San Francisco for one of her final trips before semi-retirement.  Dan was happy to be home and everyone was happy to have Dan back home and get their presents from the trip.  While Dan took a quick nap, Amy cleaned and the kids watched movies and after Dan woke, we all watched movies.

Happy Easter!!!
Easter started off when Jordan, Ian, and Coral found their baskets so brilliantly hidden by the great Easter Bunny.  We then all packed up and went to church and used this trip as a trial run to see if all three children are prepared to make the sacrifice of behaving during mass with CCD completed for the year and Ian planned to start next yearall was well and it looks like we are ready to start attending as a family.  After church, we had a quick Easter egg hunt before the Shaffers arrived for the afternoon.  Later Brian, one of the Rehab Works interns, came for dinner and then the party broke up and clean up duties were assigned.

April 17, 2006
Dan had a dentist appointment in the morning, which went well, but after that it was back to the Monday grind, which was especially hard after last week.

April 18, 2006
After work, school, and daycare, we headed to the field for Coral's game.  That was the extent of the excitement for the evening.

April 19, 2006
After work, school, and daycare, Coral and Amy met Genese, Marisa, and Curtis at Beef O'Brady's for GEMS night.  Dan, Jordan (slight ear-ache), and Ian (sore toe) all stayed at home.

April 20, 2006
Great NEWS from PittsburghBrendan Thomas Gahagen has arrived! !!
Back in Florida, Amy took Jordan to the doctor's for her ear-ache.  It is not infected, but she got some ear-drops to help ease the pain.  Later, we all attended Coral's softball game.

April 21, 2006
Dan was the only member of the family that didn't go on a field trip today (unless you count his trip to KARS Park for lunch).  Ian and his class took a trip to the beach at Jetty Park and Amy was a chaperone with Jordan's class and the rest of the Gardendale pod, which includes Coral's class at Cypress Gardens.  Dan picked up Ian and went to gymnastics like normal, just without Coral and Jordan.  Everyone had fun on their field trips and plenty of stories to tell at the end of the day, which was not until 9 PM for Amy, Jordan, and Coral.

April 22, 2006
Everyone was tired from the long day on Friday, but once we all got going we had another fun-filled day ahead of us.  Today was the All-American Picnic at KARS Park for all the employees and family members of KSC.  They had music, food, beer, and gamesbasically fun for the entire family.

April 23, 2006
The experiment of Ian in church worked out so well last week during Easter, we decided to make it a weekly occurrence.  This was the first week and we added to the ritual, by going to breakfast afterwards.  After getting out of our Sunday's best, we put on our work clothes and got to the yard work.  Once the hard work was completed, we made a collective appearance in the pool for the first time this season.  Yes, even Amy jumped in the 79 degree water.  We capped the evening off with a family walk around the neighborhood.

April 24, 2006
In the evening, Amy wasnt feeling good so she rested to try and get better.
Cant believe it has been 2-years since the Rich Rust Benefit Show!

April 25, 2006
Ian had another field trip, but this time it was to Red Lobster to learn how to run a seafood chain.  The good new was they all made their own cheese biscuits; the bad news was he didnt bring any home to his family.  Later, we all made the trip to the ball field for Corals softball game.

April 26, 2006
Once we were all home, Amy took the kids to get their feet resized for new shoesthis doesnt seem like much, but when you have three growing kids, it can turn into quite an expensive trip.

April 27, 2006
Dan finally got his field triphe and a group of people from work had a partnering meeting at Wekiva Springs State Park.  This wasnt really reportable until he showed up to find that he would be presenting information to the rest of the group with included some upper management.  Later, it was time for another rendition of the Florida Remberts go to the ol ball field.

April 28, 2006
Dan and Amy split the gymnastics duties so that Dan could get back to his card playing duties.

April 29, 2006
Dan and Amy spent the day transplanting in the gardens all over the yardhopefully some of the plants made it and will survive the relocation.  Later, Marjika watched Coral, Jordan and Ian so that Dan and Amy could go out with John and Krista for a night of parties, dinner, and dancing.

April 30, 2006
The last day of April was a lazy daywe watched TV (mainly day two of the draft), played games, and generally just hung out.  It was so lazy that we didnt make it up in time for churchsinners!
