Happy Ash Wednesday!!!
Here are this years long awaited abstinencesDan: pimpin because it just aint easy, Amy: bedazzling because the hot glue-gun leaves marks, Coral: mud wrestling to help let her pores open up again, Jordan: street performing with New Orleans ready to accept visitors everybody will jump on that bandwagon, and Ian: motocross he is going to concentrate his talents on street bikes because thats where the money is.  On a serious note, we are taking this years lenten season to heart by having more family time at the dinner table without the white-noise of the TV and Dan and Amy are actually giving up something cherished by themDan: red meat to help lower his cholesterol and Amy: chocolate to prove that she can do it.

March 2, 2006
Nothing to report but Corals final pre-season practice going on in our world today.

March 3, 2006
It was a normal Fridaygymnastics for the kids, Friday night cards for Dan, and rest for Amy.

March 4, 2006
Coral and the rest of the Lassie League had their opening day for softball, which included the ceremonies, pictures, and bat-around.  We attended from 9:30 to 3:30 and were beat afterwards.

March 5, 2006
While Amy took Jordan and Coral to church and CCD and did this weeks food shopping, Dan and Ian were busy around the house and cleaned up a few areas of need.  Since the day was just about perfect, we did spend some time outsideDan cleaned the gutters and the garage and Jordan and Ian played in the yard.  Amy also found some time to bake cupcakes and purchase Ians big present for his birthdaycheck in tomorrow to find out what he got for this year.

March 6, 2006
Happy 4th Birthday to Ian!!!
Mid-way through the day, Amy got a call from Gardendale that said that Jordan was sick and that we should pick her up because she has a fever, so Amy spent half the day at home.  Over the weekend, she developed a cough, but that didnt seem to be enough to keep her home.  By the time Dan got home, we celebrated Ians birthday by opening up his presents including his new bike and going to Steak n- Shake (Ians choice).  Afterwards, we came home and sang Happy Birthday and he blew out the candles on the cupcakes.

March 7, 2006
Well, mid-way through the day, Amy got another call, but it was from Destiny this timeit was Ians turn to get sick, but this is much more than a cough.  Sure hope this passes quickly.

March 8, 2006
Welp, Ians sickness was a bug of some sort and Amy stayed home with him all day.  On Dans way into work, a bit of road-rage flared up with another commuter and the rage was pointed in Dans directioneverything is ok, but we hope we never see that idiot again!

March 9, 2006
Happy Birthday to Rich, we are thinking of you!!!
In the middle of the night the bug that ravaged Ian was passed to Jordan.  Although we arent sure who it was passed from because 6 kids from Jordans class with the same sickness and missed the big performance.  We were all very saddened by the fact the Jordan missed the play because it was all she talked about the last nine-weeks of school.  Plus it was the only chance we had of Coral and Jordan in the same play together.  The play did go on for Coral and she had funshe was a tap-dancer with an umbrella.  Amy attended the play and cheered on Coral while Dan stayed home with the two sick kidsJordan and Ian, who is doing much better.  Coral also had her first softball game, so Genese took her while Dan once again stayed home with the two sick kids and Amy jumped on a plane to Pittsburgh for Maries baby shower.

March 10, 2006
While Amy visited with friends and family back in Pittsburgh, Dan stayed home with Jordan, Coral had her last day of school for the nine-weeks, and Ian returned to school.  Jordan and Coral both got their report cards for the 3rd nine-week period and both got some good NEWS.

March 11, 2006
Amy had a very busy day with Marie's baby shower and dinner with her friends, Heather and Gibby.  Dan, Coral, Jordan, and Ian used this day of wellness to get out of the house and went to the beach to enjoy the afternoon of beautiful weather.  It was nice to have the kids healthy again.

March 12, 2006
Dan and Ian took Jordan and Coral to CCD and then completed the weekly food shopping.  After that, Dan required the kids to play outside and again take advantage of the perfect weather.  Amy returned to Florida, found the rest of the family playing in the driveway, and joined in on the fun as she told us stories of her visit and the cool, rainy weather she left behind.

March 13, 2006
Back to normal life, which is nice for a changeCoral and Jordan started their spring break at all-day care, Ian, Amy, and Dan all got back to their normal routines.

March 14, 2006
At all-day care Jordan and Coral had their first official water day of the yearthat is a true sign that warm weather is here!  Ian had his 4-year old check-up and is doing greathe is 31 lbs and 40 inches tall.  Later, we all met at home, ate, and went to the ball field for Corals softball game.  The teams tied and Coral got a couple hits, so it was a good evening.

March 15, 2006
Not much to report from Florida except the fresh scent of springtime with the orange blossoms filling the air with its aroma.  Dan published a new Rich Story, so make sure to check it out.

March 16, 2006
Coral had another good game tonightshe is a pretty good softball player on a so-so softball team, but hopefully with practice it will get better.

March 17, 2006
Happy St. Pattys Day!!!
After gymnastics, we celebrated St. Patricks Day with some pizza and green beerwell, actually Dan was the only one with green beer.

March 18, 2006
In the afternoon, Coral had a birthday party for a friend from school at the movie theater.  Amy decided that she would take Jordan and Ian to see the movie too and joined the party to see Curious George and they all loved the movie.  While they were gone Dan was tasked to trim the oak trees in the front yard and other various jobs around the house.  Later, Dan got his chance to play at his normal poker game.

March 19, 2006
Amy took Jordan and Coral to church and CCD and did the food shopping.  The rest of the day was spent outside working in the yard and playing ball.  The day was capped off with a nice cookout.

March 20, 2006
News, news, and more good NEWS!  Read all about it!

March 21, 2006
Another beautiful day, another softball game, and another family trip to the fields for fun.

March 22, 2006
Not much to report today.

March 23, 2006
A little rain (the first in over a month) kept Dan, Jordan, and Ian home from the game, but there was not enough of a deluge to stop the game from going on for Coral and her team.

March 24, 2006
Jordan and Coral and the rest of Gardendale's all-day care took a field trip to the ice-skating rink.  This was Corals first time so Jordan had to show her the ropes.  After the first round of gymnastics, Dan went to play in his normal poker game, with a twist.  This week we decided to play tournament-stylethe first tournament went well and Dan took second place and was only one river card away from winning it all and let's just say that the first tournament paid for the second.

March 25, 2006
The first thing on our agenda was to get Zoey all groomed.  Next was to have some fun with our friends, the Shaffers at an all-day affair at their house.

March 26, 2006
Because this was the first day of spring break for all the kids in our area, CCD had no class this week, so Dan took Jordan and Coral to church only and Amy completed the food shopping later in the day.  Other than that, we spent the rest of the day watching movies and relaxing.

March 27, 2006
After daycare and work, we got a visit from our old friend, Becky Jacobyif we had a diary back in the 90s, our listening audience would know all about her and her husband Eric.

March 28, 2006
With Spring Break in full force, there was no softball this evening and hence nothing to write about.

March 29, 2006
Coral spent last evening and day with her friend Marisa for a sleep over party and even got some swimming in their pool during the day.  Jordan and Ian held down the daycare front and persevered the vivacity of the day with their friends.

March 30, 2006
Dan went on a quick overnight trip to Tampa for work to learn all about hazardous waste regulationsfun, fun, fun!

March 31, 2006
While Dan spent the day in Tampa, the kids enjoyed their last day of spring break by having Erin come for a sleep over party with the kids.
