Today our house caught on fire, Zoey ran away, and Coral started drinking Brandy again...Happy April Fools!  I just couldn't resist.  Dan cleaned the pool today and Amy worked on the garden while Coral helped us both.  Amy hurt her back while doing her work, so she took it easy the rest of the day and iced it down.  Well, Happy April to all!

April 2, 2001
Amy got to be a patient at RehabWorks...her back was still bothering her, so she jumped up on the table and got some electric shock therapy, oops, that's Thursdays...it was just electrical stimulation therapy and now she feels much better.

April 3, 2001
Today Amy and Coral sat in the sun on this beautiful, 80-degree, not-a-cloud-in-the-sky day!  Amy even got a little burned and said her back felt much better after "resting".  Dan started preparations for the next guests by cleaning the back porch after he got home.

April 4, 2001
Happy 11-month B-Day to Jordan!!!!!!
When we all got home from work, pre-school, and daycare, Coral and Jordan took naps and Dan and Amy remembered what it was like in the "peaceful days"...it was nice to hold a conversation without some one interrupting.

April 5, 2001
Amy, Coral, and Jordan did some running and took care of business.  Dan worked late to make up for time that he lost because of Daylight Savings...why do we do that to ourselves?

April 6, 2001
After work Dan went to Grills to help John and Doug celebrate their new jobs with NASA, and Amy, Coral, and Jordan met them soon after.  There was a pretty big crowd of friends there and so Amy and Denise (Dan's NASA lead) left and took the kids (Denise has 3 kids...2 of which are twins) to McDonald's, so they could run and play.  After diner, they came back and danced to the band that was playing...on the way home, Coral said "Mom, that was really fun".

April 7, 2001
What a busy day...and now for the itinerary...We woke up...Dan started cutting the grass in the back and Amy started cleaning the back porch with Coral's help...We took a break to watch the Delta II Rocket launch the MARS Odyssey at 11:02 AM, which was cool and a beautiful day for the success...Dan got back to cutting the grass in the back and after he was done with that, Amy cleaned the grass out of the pool and off the patio while Dan cut the front yard...After all the cutting and cleaning was done, we did a little swimming before our trip to BJ's to get some food for the next few week of visitors coming up and got some gas...Then we went to do some bathing suit shopping for Amy out at a shop by the beach and she came home with 2 sets...The last thing we had to get done was picking up the Sunfire at Grills parking lot because we had too much fun the night before and left it there.

April 8, 2001
Dan and Coral went to church and then the first of our many visitors came...Mike, Carol, and Angie Anderson came to visit us from Pittsburgh via Siesta Key (just south of Tampa), where they were vacationing.  We took them on a tour of the "Hotel" and then did some swimming before we had chicken on the grill (one of the house specialties).  It was nice to have them for the day and, as always, we appreciate them taking the time to spend time with us, especially Coral who loved having Angie to play with.

April 9, 2001
Today a NASA job opened up that Dan is going to apply for...yes, Dan is already applying for a new job...he wants to join Doug and John and be a NASA geek!

April 10, 2001
Today we all went to Merritt Square Mall and visited Peter Cottontail (Jordan and Coral looked as cute as buttons)...Amy wondered why he didn't say anything and Dan said it was because he's a bunny!  Then we dined at "Le Food Courte"...a fine food dining experience!

April 11, 2001
We are getting ready for the next wave of visitors...after a month of not having visitors, we are going to have someone in the hotel from Friday until May 8th!  So we decided to clean the carpets with a steam cleaner and we also got the Easter Decorations out.

April 12, 2001
Happy Space Day!  20 years ago today, the first Shuttle Mission (STS-1) went off and 40 years ago today the first man went into space...damn Russians bet us at everything back then!  The final preparations are done...Bring on the guests!!!!

April 13, 2001
Dan applied for a NASA Job, that is basically the same job, just with NASA and it also has some water quality engineering, too, so keep you fingers crossed!!!  Amy's sister, Lorie and her family (Rusty, Halee and Chloee), got in about 8:30 pm.  As soon as the kids saw the pool they changed and jumped in along with Coral.

April 14, 2001
Dan made pancakes for everyone and then we all went to the beach to get our pictures taken by Dan and Amy's friend Melissa (she did Coral and Jordan's Christmas pictures).  After that was done and the kids were done running around getting their clothes wet in the ocean, we went back to the house to swim.  While Dan and Rusty watched the kids splash in a new body of water, Amy and Lorie went to the store for some grub.  Lots of swimming went on, on this beautiful day!

April 15, 2001
Happy Egg Day!!!!!!  First we all woke up and the kids found their baskets, which had to be "your hot...your cold"ed out for them, so great job Easter Bunny in hiding!  Then we all had cinnamon rolls...Dan and Halee got the middle ones!  Then there was a Easter Egg Hunt...another good job on hiding Bunny...and he even gave away money and free kisses from Dan, Amy, Lorie and Rusty in the eggs to each of the participants.  Then Church, because Jesus has risen!  Then Lunch.  Amy's intern, well really it is RehabWorks' intern, Nina, came over to join us, which was very nice that we could share our turkey (yes, we had turkey instead of ham, sorry) with her.  Then some swimming (another gorgeous day!).  Then dinner and talking and playing on Coral's new scooter (Thanks Gramma!!!) and general merriment.  Then the cleaning began.  By the end of the day, we all were very tired and happy to see the back of our eye-lids, some of us even fell asleep on the couch...isn't that right, Rusty?  All-in-all, it was a great day!!!

April 16, 2001
Just a lot of swimming and working going on today!

April 17, 2001
Today was the first day of the Environmental and Energy Awareness Week, where Dan helped set up and did a lot of work to get up and running...Helen came over to meet her new friend's sister and family and did some swimming and...Rusty fit in 18 at Turtle Creek.

April 18, 2001
The Stroups and Coral tried to have a day at the beach, but the weather didn't cooperate with the plans...it was very windy and a little cool to be having sand blown in your face.  Dan helped again with the Environmental and Energy Awareness Week.  And we all had pizza for dinner.

April 19, 2001
Today we all went to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom...We got there around noon and stayed until 10:30 pm!  We had a blast!  The kids were perfect and not one fight ensued or one time-out had to be issued.  The weather was also perfect...high of 78 and sunny!  It was very busy, so we couldn't ride all the rides, but we did our best.  Even Jordan got to ride a few rides like Small World...Dan finally got to ride Space Mountain and Rusty got to see the Country Bears!  Everybody was happy!  We caught the Spectro Light Parade, but missed the Fireworks because we were shopping...not Amy and a sleeping Jordan, so ask them about it.  The kids were exhausted by the end of the day and had to be carried to the cars.

April 20, 2001
Swimming all afternoon, then we all went to Steak -N- Shake for dinner, then to the beach for the evening...After we all got home and the kids went to bed, the adults (well, the older people in the house) watched Survivor and then Gladiator on DVD.

April 21, 2001
Today the Stroups did some swimming and packing before they left.  It was nice to have a full house for Easter and the rest of the week...We all had a great time for their visit.  We sure did get a lot of use out of the pool!

April 22, 2001
Coral and Dan went to church then to Wal-Mart and Publix to shop for a few things that we need before the next guests come on Tuesday.  Amy cleaned the house and Dan cleaned the pool and patio while Coral and Jordan did their best to mess it up!  After a hard day of work, it was nice to take a walk around the neighborhood.

April 23, 2001
Dan, Coral, and Jordan are all trying to get over our colds and Amy is trying to clean for our next guests...check in tomorrow to see if we all succeed!

April 24, 2001
Judy and Gene (Mom and Dad or Gramma and Pap) arrived safely and did some swimming and playing with the kids.  Later, we all had some pizza and talked with the Tiki Lights burning.  The colds seem to be going away for everyone, so that's good news!

April 25, 2001
Amy and Dan went to Melissa's Baby Shower at work.  Pap was busy around the Bed and Breakfast fixing things...every hotel needs a good handy-man.  Later, Amy and Dan went to Coral's Parent-Teacher Conference and found out what we already knew, she is doing a great job in school!  She just needs to get over her shyness...so, she will be going another year.

April 26, 2001
Not much to report from Florida today...everyone did their normal stuff.

April 27, 2001
The Pittsburgh Remberts wanted to see what the buzz was about at Grills, so they joined the Florida Remberts and the Florida Shaffers (John and his family) all had a couple drinks and dinner.  Jordan wasn't feeling good so she and Amy left a little early.

April 28, 2001
While the Bolton Bed and Breakfast Maintenance Man (Pap) was working on a few things in the front yard to help beautify the place, Dan put the frame of the swing-set up and put the concrete in to hold it down.  Coral helped when she could and was very excited to see this go up!  Amy, Gramma, and Jordan went to BJs to get a few things.

April 29, 2001
The Florida Remberts went to Joey's (Dan's NASA Boss, Denise's son) 2nd Birthday Party at KARS Park, which was fun.  The Pittsburgh Remberts toured the Cruise Line Facilities and went to Wal-Mart (Pap's Happy Place).  Later that night, Dan and Amy got to use the gift certificate for Secretary's Day at Carrabba's, which is fast becoming one of Dan's favorite places to dine.  It was very nice to have an adult conversation in which no one interrupted...we keep forgetting how pleasant it is to eat without the kids.  After dinner, we went to Wal-Mart and enjoyed shopping in peace (Pap was a little jealous).

April 30, 2001
After extreme drought for months, the Pittsburgh Remberts brought their weather with them and it has been overcast and rainy all week and will continue for the rest of the week...in fact, Pittsburgh is finally having warmer weather than us down here.
