Sandy and John left today, so it looks like we will have no one here at the Bolton Bed and Breakfast for the month of March.  Dan got his ATM card back and it works!

Coral wasn't feeling good today, so she didn't go to school on time, but she did want to go.  So Amy made an appointment to see a doctor later that day and went to work.  At the doctor's, we found out that she had a bad ear infection.  Just when you think your out, they just pull you back in!

Today Dan decided that there had to be an easier way to get Zoey from the back yard instead of going out the sliding glass door, then out the porch door, into the dirt on the side of the porch and then back in.  So, he went to Home Depot, which is a godsend, and got some stuff to make a doggie door because they wanted a gazillion dollars for a pre-fab doggie door.  And guess what... It actually works!  Coral started taking her medicine and is feeling a lot better!  Amy and Dan rented "Mystery, Alaska", and Dan recommends it very highly, it is like Rocky on ice (not ise), but more graceful...and Amy says, "zzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzz", yes, she fell asleep again!

Happy 10 month B-Day to Jordan!!!  Dan went to church by himself this morning because Coral was still recuperating from the ear infection.  While Dan was at church, Amy watched "Mystery, Alaska" and said it was very inspiring, but her boyfriend did not look as good as he did in "Gladiator".  We wanted to go to a church fair today but, it rained all day (first time we got rain in a long time, so we are happy), so we just stayed home and watched TV.  When Amy returned "Mystery, Alaska", she got another DVD, "Get Carter".  Let me put it to you this way...we stopped the movie 30 minutes into it even though there was nothing on TV last night.  I have never seen a slower moving action movie in my life.

Well today was a very exciting day of work for Dan and Amy.  Not only did they have lunch together, but they witnessed a historical moment.  For the first time, NASA brought 2 Orbiters (Atlantis and Columbia) back to KSC atop Boeing 747 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft on the same day.  This is called "Piggy-Back" and is a pretty awesome sight, seeing a huge aircraft like one of the orbiters on top of another huge aircraft and flying through the air...you are thinking "Boy, that thing is too heavy, its going to fall!"  The first one came in at about 11:30 AM.  This one Amy saw fly in and said it was very cool.  It landed at KSC's Shuttle Landing Facility (SLF).  Dan saw the second one come in at about 2:30 PM at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's Skid Strip.  For those of you that don't know the difference and think that KSC is at Cape Canaveral, that is not true.  KSC (NASA) is located on Merritt Island and the US Air Force uses the Cape for it's work and the Banana River separates the two pieces of land.  There is a partnership between the two agencies (NASA and USAF), but they are separate entities.  Enough with the lesson, Coral is doing better and Jordan is great!

March 6, 2001
Amy, Coral, and Jordan met Helen at the park and Jordan got a little sunburn on her face.  Later that night, Amy went to Helen's to watch an advanced showing of "Chocolat".  Amy said it was cute.  The reason they got to see this movie so soon at her house is because Helen's dad is a big-time Hollywood movie producer!

March 7, 2001
Amy and Dan - work and Coral and Jordan - daycare/pre-school.  Dan finally completed all of the tax forms, it will be nice next year to just do the Federal taxes only (in Florida they don't collect state or local taxes!)

March 8, 2001
Dan, Amy and Jordan watched the STS-102 Launch at 6:42 am, Coral was still sleeping, that "No Brandy" thing is hitting her hard and she is tired all the time.  It was another beautiful launch...the plume formed a cool Z pattern in the sky, but we pretty much watched it from inside the house because we were in our robes.  Dan booked his flight to Las Vegas for Rich's wedding...VEGAS BABY!!!

March 9, 2001
Happy 30th B-Day Richy!  Not much to tell today, but we did take advantage of the Showtime we got on the Dish Monday.  Yes, now the Bolton Bed and Breakfast comes equipped with 10 Showtime, The Movie Channel (TMC), FLIX, and Sundance Channels.

March 10, 2001
Dan, Amy and Coral did yard work and cleaned the pool today.  Jordan just doesn't seem to be pulling her weight around here, and she doesn't even weigh that much!

March 11, 2001
What a gorgeous day!!!  Church and then we washed both of the cars.  After that, we went to BJ's and spent all of our money on food and gas.  You would think that we were getting company.

March 12, 2001
The Florida Remberts go to Miami!  We left about 4:45 and drove for a while and then stopped at Wendy's got some dinner and then drove the rest of the way and got to the Holiday Inn - University of Miami at about 9:15.  The room was nice, but best of all, convenient to our next day's activities.

March 13, 2001
After a rough night of trying to get Jordan to sleep, we checked out about 8:15.  We then drove to the Children's Hospital of Miami.  There was some bad traffic so it took about 45 minutes to get there.  Once we got there, we went to see where the appointment was and then went to the cafeteria to get some breakfast.  The appointment went very well!  Jordan will be fine, we just have to keep an eye on the two birth-marks and we were out of there in 15 minutes.  Now the fun begins...first we went to historic Coral Gables and the Univeristy of Miami (which Dan was a student of for about a day).  The homes in Coral Gables were huge and the campus was beautiful.  We got some pictures of us on campus and of this famous hotel in Coral Gables, did some shopping at the bookstore and then on to the beach...Yes, the Florida Remberts went to South Beach.  For some reason, when we mention that to people they ask if we were OK?  We were fine!  There is not a thing to be worried about.  It's not like Miami Vice or something.  On the way over, you should see the houses and the boats, were do these people get the money?!  We went to this little diner for lunch, which was nice.  And then off to the beach.  In case you didn't know it, it is spring break down here and there are very many college kids everywhere (I can't believe I call them kids now)!  Nice Beach!  Blue Water!  Gorgeous Day (around 92 and sunny)!  And apparently, you can go topless on the beach.  Then we we decided to drive home.  We left about 2:30 and went past all of the high-rise condos and hotels on A1A at Miami Beach...there are about a million of them!!!  Once again, were do these people get this money, and how do I get some!  Then we went to the mainland to I-95, and man, am I amazed at the number of people on this highway!  It reminds me of LA...4 and sometimes 5 lanes full of cars, all going 70 miles an hour.  It was like this from Miami to North of West Palm Beach, which is about 70 miles of coastline.  Well anyway, we got home around 6:15 and got ready for the next day.  And we all slept good!

March 14, 2001
Because our Internet Service Provider (ISP) has been sooooo slow lately, we signed up for a new ISP today, MPInet.  Yes, this does mean we are going to have a new email address, again!  It is [email protected].  Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

March 15, 2001
Wow!  It is so nice to be able to get on-line without getting kicked off and having the programs load at the speed of molasses in January (in Pittsburgh, because it is warm here and it still moves kinda fast)!

March 16, 2001
Today was a very busy and rewarding day for us, Amy was running here and there for the inaugural "Athletic Training Day and Symposium", sponsored by Rehab Works and Dan volunteered to help set up for the "All-American Picnic" sponsored by KSC.  The good news is we both got free t-shirts out of it!

March 17, 2001
Dan and Amy missed being in Pittsburgh for St. Patty's Day today!  But we did have our own fun!  The day started off with Jordan using the walker (a thing that helps both the elderly and youngins to walk) to take her first steps!  We were all excited to see that...then we went to KARS Park for the "All-American Picnic"...face painting, new friends, free green beer, bands, children's games, and food...what else do you need!

March 18, 2001
Well, after being passed from Coral to Amy to Jordan to Coral to Jordan to Amy to Coral, Dan finally got the sickness and spent all day in bed...not much fun!

March 19, 2001
Dan stayed home from work, but felt better and that was a good thing because...Coral got to school and was sick all over the place (doesn't that paint a pretty picture).  But she felt better after she did that, so Dan was thinking that's what he should have done.

March 20, 2001
It looks like everyone is on the road to recovery and no one else is passing us going the other way (knock on Dan's head).  Dan and Amy watched "Reindeer Games" on Showtime last night...Dan gives it 2 1/2 stars out of 5 and Amy must of liked it pretty good, she actually stayed awake for the whole thing.

March 21, 2001
HAPPY SPRING!  As you probably know, we are hooked on "Survivor", but we also watch "Friends", so last night was a big disappointment for us, it was some kind of "best of" show instead of a new episode and now it moves back to Thursday nights.  Good luck to Penn State in the sweet-sixteen!

March 22, 2001
Amy, Coral and Jordan had Story time at Barnes and Noble with Helen and her kids.  Later that night Dan joined them and went garden shopping...after all, it is springtime!

March 23, 2001
Coral went to the zoo for a field trip at school.  Dan went to Grills after work to celebrate a great spring day and Doug and John getting jobs with NASA!

March 24, 2001
We went to the Patrick Air Force Base Air Show today.  There was about 25 to 30 fighter jets, fighter helicopters, transport planes, and all kinds of other various killing machines all on display, and that made for a wonderful family day (just kidding, there was no killing that went on)!  Many of them you could walk into and get a closer look and two of them we even pushed the stroller through.  They were huge!  The show portion of our day was even better, they had sky divers, one of the stealth fighter jets, and best of all, the Thunder Birds.  That show was awesome!  Even Amy, Coral and Jordan were impressed by their acrobatic maneuvers and general loudness.  Later that night, we rented "Almost Famous".  Boy that film takes me back to ISE-days.  Amy even could connect with Penny Lane (the groupie in the film), that was until she fell asleep...I will let you know what she thinks of it after she watches it because we have it for 5 days, she should be able to stay up at least one night.

March 25, 2001
Church and then a general "work around the house" day.  Amy and Coral worked on their garden, which looks wonderful!  Dan fixed the guts of the toilet, fixed a few sprinkler heads, and even tried to change the oil in the Sunfire.  He went out and bought the oil and oil filter, got home and could hardly fit under the car and struggled with the nut for about 15 minutes before giving up.  All in all, it was a pretty productive day!  "Gladiator", one of our favorites, won best picture!

March 26, 2001
Nothing real exciting happened today, until right around midnight when Amy and Dan heard a loud sound and got up to find that a car had hit our poor little defenseless mailbox.  The next morning we found out that the driver also took out the neighbor's garbage and it went everywhere...ahhh life in a small town, glad we left the big city!

March 27, 2001
Amy, Coral and Jordan did a lot of running around today...they got a new mailbox at Home Depot, returned the oil and filter, and even found a swing-set for Coral at Wal Mart.  When Dan got home, he and Coral constructed and put up the mailbox.  Later, Amy's eye-lids got strike two on "Almost Famous" and she only has one more chance!

March 28, 2001
Amy went and got the swing-set at Wal Mart while Dan and the kids played!  Amy gave up on "Almost Famous"...I guess she will just have to watch it after we buy it.

March 29, 2001
Finally got some much needed rain in a big way!  Not much else to report.

March 30, 2001
More rain...Amy and Dan rented "Wonder Boys" (filmed in Pittsburgh)...Dan thought it was pretty good, especially the extra "Tour of Pittsburgh" that you get on the DVD...3 1/2 stars out of 5.  Amy thought it was pretty slow, but that may have been because the guy next to her kept on nudging her in the shoulder  (it was only a 1-night rental).

March 31, 2001
Make sure to "jump ahead" your clocks tonight...More rain and even hail today!  Got the oil changed and a new tire on the Sunfire...Amy and Coral did some yard work between storms, but we did mostly "in-house" work.
