| Here is what is going on with the Florida Remberts |
| February 1, 2001 Amy and the kids had Helen and her kids over to play and finally see our house. Dan got his school schedule for the first two classes...not as bad as originally thought...got some breaks in between classes. February 2, 2001 Amy and Dan rented "What Lies Beneath"...it was ok, a little scary and suspenseful, but I guess Robert Zemeckis should stick to the Back to the Future stuff. February 3, 2001 Dan helped Sue and Rich (Dan used to work with Sue) move into their new house. While Dan was working very hard, Amy, Coral, and Jordan were off at the mall buying something new for Amy to wear for her first day on her new job. February 4, 2001 Jordan's 9 Month Birthday!!!! Dan and Amy rented "Me, Myself and Irene"...Dan thought it was very funny and Amy couldn't see much of the movie because the back of her eyelids kept getting in the way. February 5, 2001 Got Jordan all signed up with the daycare and finalized plans with Marie. February 6, 2001 Jordan had here "trial run" today with the daycare...it went very well. Amy went out with Denise (Dan's NASA Lead) and some other friends to dinner and to see "The Wedding Planner", she said it was funny but it was no "What Women Want". February 7, 2001 Beautiful Day (near 80)...Beautiful Launch (clear evening) Amy, Dan and Coral watched the launch from our driveway...we got some video of it. February 8, 2001 Dan had lunch outside at the Port with Doug, John, Mark, and Sue to celebrate another BEAUTIFUL Day! Nothing else exciting to report, just getting ready for the next visitor...Aunt Re Re! February 9, 2001 Some bad news today, Dynamac said that they would not pay for UMiami because it is too expensive (which it is), so Dan will be looking into other institutions of higher learning and he gets to have fun this summer! Some good news, Aunt Re Re came to visit! February 10, 2001 Marie went to St. Augustine for the night to watch Roz, her friend, coach basketball. Dan and Amy did some yard work (Coral and Jordan helped), then we went to church. February 11, 2001 What a day at the beach! Made sandcastles, ate lunch, had lots of fun! February 12, 2001 Amy's first day of work started out with no car. It just had this freakish problem were the key wouldn't turn and the wheel wouldn't turn and the shift wouldn't move, so Dan drove home from work and then Amy took the Jeep to work. Dan called about 5 different people to try to get it fixed which it wouldn't. So there goes our Sunfire on the back of the tow truck. February 13, 2001 Still no car. Just did some shopping before the guests arrive. February 14, 2001 Happy Vally Day! Well, Dan and Amy get to work and then get a call that Jordan is sick, so Dan drives back to get Jordan and then takes her to the doctor's and finds out that she has a cold and will be fine. Got the car back, the ignition switch needed replaced (you get a new, well previously owned, car thinking these things won't happen). And of course, we went to BJ's to stock up for our visitors. Thanks for the ride to work Doug! February 15, 2001 Dave, Tim and Marcy are the next guests to see the house, pool, and, oh yeah, the Florida Remberts. They said that they were just happy to be out of Pittsburgh! February 16, 2001 Dave, Tim, and Marcy went to MGM Studios, they said that they had a fun day and especially liked the "Muppet Show"! After they got back that night, Dan, Tim, and Dave took the first swim of the year...IT WAS COLD, but we got used to it after a while. February 17, 2001 We all went to the beach and then stopped by BJ's and got some food for the grill and got some more beer, so we could go swimming some more! February 18, 2001 Dave and Tim went to the 500...Marcy and Amy went to the beach. It was too windy to stay there, so they came back and Amy didn't feel good, so she went to bed to rest, while Marcy sat by the pool and got RED!...Dave and Tim were also red from sitting and watching the race, but after going to a NASCAR race, only your neck gets red. We got our new (well, new to us) dining room furniture from Amy's Grandma, it looks great, thanks to all that helped get it here! February 19, 2001 Amy was not feeling good at all, so she spent the whole day in bed. Marcy got some more sun by the pool with some company from Coral who was doing some swimming. Dan, Dave, and Tim drank the rest of the beer and played cards with the occasional jump in the pool, while Jordan sat and laughed at the three drunk guys. February 20, 2001 Well, our visitors from the north left today...Dan took them to the airport. I've fallen and I can't get up...Amy was feeling better, but she was a bit under-nourished, so she fell in the shower. She is OK, but it is a good thing she went to work so she could get checked out by the Rehab Works staff. (I can make light of it now) February 21, 2001 Finally a normal day...Dan and Amy went to work (even had lunch together) and Coral and Jordan went to pre-school/daycare! February 22, 2001 Amy is not sure but it looks like some teeth are coming in on the bottom for Jordan, we will keep you updated on this as more shows. Amy's Mom and Dad got into town and will be staying in Cocoa Beach for a week, so we all went out to Grill's (outside) at the port last night for diner. In an unrelated story, I hear there is snow in the forecast for Pittsburgh. My friend Doug asked his girlfriend, Kristie to marry him, and she said yes. February 23, 2001 Today was the big debut of the movie, "Guardians of the Gateway". The cast and crew were invited to this showing and the KSC showing will be in May. Dan went out after work with John to get some drinks at Grills, as you can tell this is the place to be. February 24, 2001 Amy and Dan got the dining room all put back together with the new furniture. Amy is very happy with the China Closet, now she can show off her dishes! Dan finally checked the email at home and found 58 new messages, sorry we haven't got back to you yet, but that is a lot of messages to read, next we will start answering them in about 2 or 3 weeks. February 25, 2001 Church and a lazy afternoon of sitting by the pool. Later that evening, John and Sandy came over to celebrate John's B-day with pizza and cake. February 26, 2001 After work and daycare, Dan helped Doug move a monstrous entertainment center, while Sandy and John got diner from Domenico Italian Restaurant for everyone. On the tooth front, it looks like they are actually teeth coming through...way to cut, Jordan! February 27, 2001 So Dan puts the ATM card in the machine, it asks him for the PIN, then again, then again, and one more time, each time Dan enters the right number and then surprise, it kindly takes the card and tells Dan to have a nice day...Real Great! The good news is, Dan can get it back on Thursday, that's not too inconvenient. So then Dan meets Amy to get their $25,000 Homestead Exemption today, at least that went smoothly and so did lunch at Steak -N- Shake (one of Amy's favorites). Today was also the first Titan Launch since we've been here, it was cool. The Titan is an unmanned rocket, which is a little smaller than the shuttle, but it is bigger than the other rockets and louder, so it was pretty impressive. Coral and Jordan both got new car seats today (well, Jordan's is just new to her)...Jordan gets to use the big girl car seat because she is getting too long for her baby seat, and Coral gets to use the new Booster Seat! As Jordan would say..."Soooo Big (lifting her hands up to the sky)" and "Yeaaaaaa (clapping her hannies, that's hands to all of you adults out there)"! February 28, 2001 Another normal day with the Florida Remberts...Jordan had some baked potato with some gravy at daycare, so that was good. Coral is having a lot of fun at her daycare/pre-school too! Happy Lent! Dan will be giving up eating red-meat, Amy smoking cigarettes, Coral drinking Brandy, and Jordan chewing Red-Man tobacco. |
