| Here is what is going on with the Florida Remberts |
| February 1, 2007
After work and school, Jordan had her hip-hop dance class and Gramma watched and was impressed with her mad skills. Later, we got Sonnys B-B-Q and enjoyed it out on the back porch. February 2, 2007 Happy Groundhogs Day and Happy Birthday Matty!!! Judy and Gene moved into the Ron Jon Resort and were joined in the evening by Whitey and Elaine and the Florida Rembert kids to give Amy and Dan a night out of dinner at Azteca II and once back home a night without the kidswoo hoo! February 3, 2007 The Florida Remberts spent the day with the gang at Ron Jonswe all took a tour of the place for the benefit of Elaine and Whitey, spent some time in the game room, watched Kicking & Screaming in the movie theater, which everyone was pleasantly surprise about and Amy gave it 2 long winks, and the Florida Remberts hung out in the kids play center while the rest of the gang rested back at the room. As you can tell, all activities were indoor because of the cool and rainy weather, but this didnt stop us from having fun. After we all met back at the room, we decided it was time for dinner at Fish Lips to close out the day. February 4, 2007 Happy Super Bowl Sunday! The kids went to CCD while Dan and Amy did the weekly shopping. We had a little Super Bowl party which included beer, wine, a poll, and charred ribsall the fun of a non-Steeler Super Bowl. We watched the old Steeler Super Bowls of the past during the afternoon pregame stuff and this was when we all realized that the Steelers would soon be known as Super Bowl XL Champions and not just Super Bowl Champions. Congrats to Peyton and the Colts, but dont get too used to it, the Steelers will be back next year. February 5, 2007 Got back to the grind and no one visited us from Ron Jons so they must be having a good time. February 6, 2007 After work and school, the Florida Remberts met up with the Pittsburgh/Ron Jons gang at Beef OBradys for dinner and conversation mostly about how the 60-degree weather may be cool for Florida and swimming weather for some (Elaine even went down the slide), but it doesnt compare to the 9-degree weather to be found in Pittsburgh. February 7, 2007 Today the conversation centered around the crazy astronaut lady and her attempted kidnapping and murder on Monday, February 5thman, what a world we live in and we are trying to raise our children. Later, to get away from it all, we finally watched Lost, which is back on the air for the next 16 weeks in a row with no repeats. February 8, 2007 Jordan had another rousing evening of hip-hop and Amy picked up some pizza from Dominos, which is in the same little strip mall, but the big news of the night was the return of Survivor. February 9, 2007 After a busy week at work and school with Dans new job and Corals FCATs starting up and Pap and Gramma checking out of Ron Jons, the business continued with Jordan and Pap at gymnastics, Ian and Dan at a tee-ball meeting to kick-off the season, and Amy dropped off Coral at the high school for her show all at the same time. After we all met back at house sans Coral, it was time to turn back around and get a good seat in the auditorium for the Merritt Island High School dance team recital. Why were we there?, you may ask. Because the team invited two special guests: Jefferson Middle School dance team and the GEMS Showstoppers. The best part was Coral had an expanded role due to absences and was in 8 out of 9 songs during the showand did great. After the 2-hour show, we at a sandwich shop and stayed out late. February 10, 2007 We took advantage of the perfect weather and spent most of the day out doors working and playing. Amy got to try out her new-to-her bike, a hand-me-down from Marie that Gramma and Pap delivered from Pittsburgh as she and Jordan and Ian traveled around the neighborhood. Jordan and Ian also helped Pap rake up the leaves in the front yard (in Florida, the leaves fall off the oak trees in February instead of October). Later, Amy took Coral, Jordan, and Ian to Lukes birthday party were they played in one of those bouncy houses all afternoon long while Pap and Dan removed the rubber tree plant before it caused damage to the pool with its long shallow root structure. February 11, 2007 Amy took the kids to CCD and volunteered while Dan went to Publix for the week. After we met back at the house, Dan took Ian to his first tee-ball practice where he hit and caught the ball well. Following practice, they met up with Amy, Coral, Jordan, Judy, and Gene at the Shaffers for an afternoon of playtime for the kids and talk-time for the adults. Once dinner was done and cleaned up, we returned back home to get ready for bed and watch some TV including the Grammys with the return of the Policewoo hoo! February 12, 2007 The Florida Remberts got back to the grind, while Judy and Gene postponed their trip to Fort Pierce to spend a few days with friends because of weathercheck back in a few days on this one. February 13, 2007 Heavy rains and winds came through the area and interrupted what was otherwise a beautiful day. For the second day in a row, we arrived home to the smell of home cooking on the stove, which is a nice change of pace. February 14, 2007 Happy Valentines Day!!! Zoey went in for her surgery today to remove the growth on her paw and get her teeth cleaned while "under". All went well until the cone was placed around her neckit was quickly removed in the hopes that she will leave the operation alone. After Amy brought Zoey home, she then took the kids to the annual Love Bug Bash at GEMS. They all came home all sugared up and the Florida Remberts celebrated our family love on Valentines Day along with Pap and Gramma. February 15, 2007 With the weather finally cleared up, Judy and Gene took their trip to Fort Pierce and will be gone for a few daysthat left the Florida Remberts to fend for themselves for a couple days, but that is nothing new for our heroes. February 16, 2007 After work and school, Amy was put in charge of gathering up the troops for gymnastics. It was a little too cold for Ians tee-ball practice, but we made up for it by celebrating Dans first pay check with CHS with a night out at TGIFridays. February 17, 2007 Coral spent most of the afternoon at the Taffer's house, around the block and the rest of us spent most of the day cleaning our warm house as the temperatures outside were not very Florida-like. Later, we welcomed Judy and Gene back for a quick pit stop and then Dan, Amy, Jordan, and Ian went shopping at BJs. We came home with a rotisserie chicken for dinner and watched the Delta II rocket take flight for its THEMIS mission. February 18, 2007 Judy and Gene left us again for another short vacation from their vacation this time to Okeechobee and Naples. Back at home, there was no CCD this week and that just made it that much easier to skip out on church, but that didnt stop it from being a busy day. Dan and Ian went to the Enchanted Forest Sanctuary for a gopher tortoise presentation and tour around the grounds, while Amy, Jordan, and Coral went bowling with the Taffers and friends. February 19, 2007 Happy Presidents Day!!! Dan missed his first government holiday because his new company saves those days and uses them as time off between Christmas and New Yearsthats when Dan will get the last laugh. While Dan was at work, Amy and the kids went to the movies to see Bridge to Terabithia and they all thoroughly enjoyed itAmy gave it 1 long wink. Later, it was time for the last part of the madness to beginCoral had her first softball practice of the year. February 20, 2007 Merry Mardi-Gras!!! Every one got back to the grind today and with the added tee-ball practice for Ian and Jordans cough turning into a slight fever, we got back fast. February 21, 2007 Happy Ash Wednesday!!! Another fun-filled day of tee-ball for Ian and softball practice for Coralat least, Jordan felt better, but Amy felt worse. And now for the moment we have all been waiting forour annual Lenten special presentation of this years abstinences: Dan and Amy are both relinquishing the ritual to consume any food after dinner until the following morning, Coral is surrendering her right to bear arms, Jordan is resigning her post as a mob boss, and Ian is renouncing his membership in the secret society of Freemasonry. February 22, 2007 Amy left work early to get recuperated from her cold for the upcoming events of the weekend, so Dan was in charge of the mad scramble that we call after-school-activities for the kids. February 23, 2007 After work and school, Dan maintained the gymnastics front, while Amy upheld the preparations for the party stampede. After most of the busy work was completed, we welcomed the Pittsburgh Remberts back to their home-away-from-home with dinner at Carrabbas and a little poker game. February 24, 2007 Amy and Judy left early in the morning to finalize the shopping for the party and reserved space at the party site, Rotary Park. The rest of the crowd including the birthday boy showed up soon before the party was to start at 10:30. We played games, opened presents, ate cake, and had general merriment during the party and were out of the pavilion before some of the other parties going on in the park even started. After a quick turn-around at home, we left the grandparents to rest while we traveled to Orlando for another birthday party for Destiny (a friend of Jordan and Corals from GEMS aftercare). It was at a timeshare much like our Ron Jons Resort and we got there a little late, but still joined in on cake and present-opening time. After a few hours in the pool and hot tub, we were off again, but this time it was for a relaxing dinner at Race Rock where we just beat the crowd and timed it perfectly to get in and out in a timely manner. By the time we got home, every one was beat and ready for bed! February 25, 2007 Sunday was a true day of restafter Amy took the kids to CCD and shopped at Publix, Dan picked them up and returned them home. Pap did a few things around the yard, Dan did a few things around the house, Gramma got her hair cut, and Amy and the kids did a little shopping. Once that was completed, we relaxed, played more poker, and had our Sunday meal of steaks and hamburgers on the grill. February 26, 2007 After work and school, the evening hours became too hectic to properly send off Judy and Gene on their last night in Florida, but that doesnt mean we didnt tryJudy filled the air with the aroma of a roast in the oven while people came and went to practices across Merritt Island and we all ate when we could. At the end of the night, we all said our sad good-byes before the nights slumber because of their early morning departure. February 27, 2007 With the house back to just the Florida Remberts residing in it, we commenced the regular grind of our abnormal lives. February 28, 2007 After work and school, Dan and Ian took Zoey to get her stitches out and her paw is doing very well. While this was taking place, Amy picked up Jordan and Coral for Corals softball practice, then brought Jordan home for some homework time, then picked up Coral from practice, and got home in time to get everyone ready for bedand that is just a typical day her in Florida. |
