Dans day started right after the ball droppedhe took a shower and a short, hour nap and headed to Tampa with Erik and Frank for the Outback Bowl, which featured a showdown between Penn State and Tennessee.  It was a quick trip (only 1 hour 45 minutes to get there with a very low density of traffic), a quick breakfast at Dennys, and then the drinking started in the light rain.  Before we could get dry, we were in our seats on the 10-yard line about 22 rows up and watched the underdog Nittany Lions pull off a victory 20 10.  While Dan was in Tampa soaking wet, Amy, Coral, Jordan, and Ian stayed dry watching old, home videos of the kids in their younger days.

Back to the grind in a big way.  The kids were not too excited to get back to school and all-daycare after over a week off, but they were finally coaxed out of bed and into their clothes.  Because Amy went into work early to get all caught up after the flooding, she left work earlier than normal and took Jordan (et all) to get her hair cut.  It is now just above her shoulders and looks real cute.

January 3, 2007
Not much to report, just got back into the roll of things.

January 4, 2007
While Dan and Amy were at work, Jordan was at all-daycare (and helped Mr. Giddy prepare his class for students once again), and Ian was at school, Coral was off with her friend Lauren where they shopped and hung out all day at the mall (with Laurens mom supervising, of course).

January 5, 2007
We took the minivan in for a check-up because the light came on and this cost us some big bucks as the computer in the engine crapped outthis just plain old sucks!  Not to fret, it is Friday and the weekend started today!

Happy 39th Anniversary to the Original Remberts!!!
We spent the day taking down all our hard work from the end of November.  All the Christmas decorations we carefully boxed and stored in the crawl space until next yearthis is sort of a somber time at our house.  In keeping with the organizing theme, we also cleaned up the garage and made room by using hooks to suspend the bikes and get them out of the way.

January 7, 2007
After our chocolate-chip pancake breakfast, Amy and Coral took a trip to BJs to get a few things.  Once they got back, we packed up and met the Shaffers at the Ron Jons Resort for day.  It was a perfect day to get out of the house and hang out by the pool.  After we got back from our mini-vacation, Amy and Jordan got the rest of the groceries and dinner at Publix.  Soon after they got back, our entire neighborhood sat in darkness as we were struck by a power blackout.  This only lasted an hour, but we enjoyed the candlelight dinner.  The kids were pretty excited and praised God because a new Hannah Montana was scheduled for the evening.  While the kids were quietly watching their new show, Dan and Amy watched Elizabethtown.  Amy thought the movie was OK and gave it 3 1/2 long winks, but Dan liked it a little better being a Cameron Crowe fanthe only problem he found was with Orlando Blooms fake American accent didnt work too well.

January 8, 2007
Today is the last day for Jordan and Corals Christmas vacation, so they spent it at all-daycare with their friends and fellow laurel-sitters.  Ians school started back up with some education.

A Day of Change!  The interview you may have read about on December 13, 2006 finally came to fruition after a few weeks of negotiations with the final offer extended and accepted today.  Dan will be starting his new job in the same location on January 29th (and by that we mean he isnt even moving his cube, the only change will be with the work he does and the company he is employed by).  After work, Amy continued the changing ways in style and got her hair cut almost as short (and just as cute) as Jordans.

January 10, 2007
Dan started the day off by taking a drug and alcohol test for his new job.  He then spent the rest of the day resigning from his position to all the different people he reports to.

January 11, 2007
After work and school, Amy took Jordan to her first hip-hop dance class for a trial period.  She enjoyed herself and picked up on the routines pretty easilythis may just be her calling.

January 12, 2007
Just your normal every week Friday of work, school, and gymnastics with the added bonus of an extended weekend ahead.

January 13, 2007
Rest in Peace, Rich...
Today we worked around the house and in the yard before we started the fun of the weekend.  Amy was the first to enjoy the time offshe went on an afternoon shopping spree and relaxed in the peace and quiet as she browsed childless.

January 14, 2007
With CCD back in full session, we also make it back to church and Publix for our weekly grocery shopping.  Since we got our work completed yesterday, we spent today by the Ron Jon's pool and play center.  We were joined during the day and for dinner by the Shaffers who were staying the night and "most" the weekend at the resort.

Happy MLK Day!!!
After a very restful morning and early afternoon, we were ready to get out on the town so we went to the movie theater to see Arthur and the Invisibles and the kids enjoyed the movie.  Amy gave it 2 long winks and Dan thought it was good, just a little too rushed.  After the movie, it was time to spend what little lotto money we had left on the frames and matting for the family pictures we had taken last summerwe ended up spending almost as much money on the frames as the pictures and that was just for the larger, irregularshaped pictures.

While everyone went to school and work, Dan stayed home and used his floating holiday time before he leaves his current company.  He spent the day by running errands, but it was nice to have the down time.  One of the errands was to take Zoey to the vets for her annual check-up and to have the doctor look at a growth on her left paw, which looks to be infected.  They took some samples, prescribed some medicine, and we will get it rechecked next week.

January 17, 2007
Day two of floating holiday time for Dantoday he mainly stayed home and did some stuff around the house.  As for the rest of the family, well not much to report.

January 18, 2007
Dan was not happy to be back at work especially with the imminent switch in jobs causing double duty.  After the day was done, picked Ian up from school, took Jordan to hip-hop dance class, and picked Coral up from show choirand just think, soon we will be adding softball and tee-ball to the mix.

January 19, 2007
After work, school, and gymnastics, there was not much going on except the big Friday night War tournament between Dan, Ian, and Jordan once she got back from her class.

January 20, 2007
Aside from a few errands throughout the day, it was a pretty lazy day around the house.  Once of the errands was to pick up our framed pictures and then return them because they put the wrong pictures in the wrong frames, twice.  They sure do look good up on the walls though.  Later, we picked up Ms. Marjika to watch the kids because it was time for Dan and Amys contracts annual awards banquet (Holiday party) after the holidays.  Just like last year they had fun for everyonefood, dancing (for Amy), and fake-money gambling (for Dan).

January 21, 2007
Last nights party must have been too much fun because no one woke in time for church, but Coral, Jordan, and Ian did make it to CCD because 2 of the 3 had snack duties for the classDan and Amy went shopping at Publix during CCD.  Another pretty lazy day ensued where we watched football and cooked on the grill most of the day.

January 22, 2007
Dan started his last week with Dynamac as an employer by finding out that he will get some overtime while with CHS to help out until there is a replacement (not that they could ever replace Dan).  After work, Dan took Zoey for a recheck of her pawthe vet seems to think, while it is not completely necessary, it would be best to have the lump removed.  Dan and Amy decided to wait a week to see how the medicine continues to work before going ahead with the costly procedure.

January 23, 2007
After work, Amy once again took the pictures to switch frames and finally corrected the problem for goodnow we just have to get the artwork up on the walls.

January 24, 2007
Amy and the rest of the big lotto winners (the RehabWorks staff) took the two guys and their wives out to dinner to thank them for the giftso basically it was a gift of thanks for the gift of thanks:  when will the circle end and the madness stop!

January 25, 2007
Dans old group took him out to lunch so that his new group next week could welcome him aboard.  Later, Jordan once again excelled in her hip-hop class.

January 26, 2007
Today was Dans last day of work as a Dynamac employee, but not much will change when he enters the same doors come Monday morning after getting a new badge.  Later, the weekly ritual of gymnastics, card games, and takeout dinner took place without a hitch.

January 27, 2007
First Amy took Coral to the second annual (at least for us) engineering workshop for girls in elementary schoolshe met Marisa there and had a good time learning all about physics and math.  Then it was Ians turn for a birthday party at Active Imagination for best-friend-Jordan.  Dan then switched with Amy, so that she could take Jordan to her friend, Alyssas birthday party.  After Ians party was finished, Dan and Ian went to the barber shop to get their hair cut.  Then they went to try and finalize the picture frame purchasing to fully display the photos.  Soon after Dan and Ian got home, Amy and Jordan arrived and we all left to pick up Coral at Marisas and celebrated Dans new job at Red Lobster.

January 28, 2007
No church, but Amy made up for it by volunteering at CCD in Ians class.  This left the food shopping till later in the day and while Amy took care of that Dan finalized the taxes and filled the wall with beautiful pictures just in time for visitors to arrive Thursday or Friday.

January 29, 2007
The main subject of the day was Dans first day of work for CHShe was badged in and questioned like a new employee for most of the morning and then returned to his cube for the rest of the day to catch-up with work.  Later, the cleaning duties began for the visitors/guests who plan to arrive later in the week.  Coral earned her allowance and also helped out.

January 30, 2007
Not much to report.

January 31, 2007
After work, we cleaned-up in a frenzy for the surprise news of the guests/visitors who arrived a day earlyJudy and Gene (aka, Mom and Dad or Gramma and Pap) came for the month of February.
