| Here is what is going on with the Florida Remberts |
| February 1, 2004 Happy Superbowl Day!!! Well the lice is back...now it is in Jordan's hair, so Amy went to the store and did a treatment in the morning instead of going to church and CCD. Not much going on during the day, but we had a little party for the game, which was pretty good. Dan especially liked Miss. Jackson's (we must call her that now because we are definitely nasty after seeing that!) trick during the halftime show. Then of course, Dan and Amy had to watch the first installment of the Survivor All-Stars. That would be two nights of staying up late..when can Dan catch-up on sleep? February 2, 2004 Happy Birthday to Matty!!! As far as Groundhog's Day...we don't care much about that down here because spring will definitely be coming soon...woo hoo! Dan and Coral and the rest of the Dolphin team had their second practice today and it went well...at some time the words "Big Red Machine" were yelled out (it might have been "Why don't you girls act more like the..", but you get the point). February 3, 2004 Poor Jordan now has a cold-sore below her nose just like Ian gets, so she went to the doctors to get some antibiotics, but that also meant that she had to stay home from school. Since Dan already left early, Amy had to stay with Jordan and enjoy the beautiful weather. February 4, 2004 EMS Training for Dan at work is finally over...let's just say it was torture! After work, Dan picked-up Coral for Brownies and then went home changed and picked up Ian and Jordan and met Amy with Coral at the ball field for T-ball. The team had another good practice today. The girls seem to enjoy hitting and running the bases, but not fielding too much, so that is what Dan makes them do the most...evil genius. BTW, we have raffle tickets for sale. February 5, 2004 Coral and Jordan had gymnastics today, so that meant running around here and there to pick-up kids and drop them off and then cook food and then clean up and do homework and so on... February 6, 2004 As we were driving in this morning for our last day of the week, we were listening to the Nixon Clocks (Rich's old group) and Jordan was looking at the pictures and asked, "Where is Daddy, I see Rich, but where is Daddy?" and then Coral asked, "Which one (singing) is Rich?". We will always remember Rich with his music and we thank God for that! February 7, 2004 Today was a very busy day...first we went to look at new couches (ours in the TV/family room is about 10 years old), next we got a gift at Target, then stopped to get ice, then dropped off more Girl Scout cookie orders, then paid our gymnastics bill for the month, then looked at more couches, and then finally got to KARS Park for Brandon's (Shaffer's possible adopted 15-year old kid) birthday party, where the kids played all the rest of the day. February 8, 2004 Amy and Coral went to church and to CCD/Publix for the week. After they got back, Dan and Coral went to sell raffle tickets for T-ball while the other two kids slept. Amy also did the second and final treatment on Jordan for lice. After tubbies, which Ian decided to try with his clothes on, and bedtime, Dan and Amy watched American Wedding. Amy and Dan both agreed it was worth watching, but don't expect American Pie III, it's not a trilogy. Some of the same characters are there (Stifler is in theory the same, but different, much more) and you can tell the writing is different, but it is still pretty funny...Amy gives it 3 long winks. February 9, 2004 After we all got back to the grind of work, school and daycare, Coral and Dan had T-ball practice. The team only has 2 more practices before opening day and we are ready! February 10, 2004 More terrible news came today...Amy's Godmother, Karen, passed away today only about 8 months after her husband, please pray for her family. Dan has been working on Rich's Page and adding stories about Rich as he remembers them, so please go check them out. February 11, 2004 We had the second to last practice for the Dolphins...next Saturday is the big opening day ceremony. Dan also did some practicing to get ready for the Rich Tribute Show...found out today that it will be in April, so that is less time to get the songs down so Rich will be proud. February 12, 2004 Had many things going on today...first off, it is Amy's 3-year anniversary at work...woo hoo! Next, Amy went in early so that she could take Coral to the annual Love Bug Bash and also volunteered at the event. Dan was in charge of picking-up Jordan from school, getting the Girl Scout Cookies, and then Jordan had gymnastics. All the way over, we worked on pronouncing gymnastics...Jordan says something like "nastiques". Not much going on with Ian...he is still to young to have any activities. Dan also added another Rich Story for everyone to read...that makes 2 and counting. This one's about the beginnings of Ise. February 13, 2004 Friday the 13th...not much to report, but Dan added yet another Rich Story to the collection. We just got ready for the 3-day weekend that we have before us. February 14, 2004 Happy Vally-day...we hope yours is totally rad! The day didn't start off good...our ice maker was leaking water, so we disconnected it and will be making ice manually for a while. Next on the agenda was Amy and Coral's trip to Publix to sell cookies for 3 hours. After they returned from their sale, we all headed down to Melbourne to shop for a new couch. Our was passed down from the Pittsburgh Remberts and has about 10 or more years under its belt so it is time for a new one. After shopping at 5 places and having a quick dinner at Steak -n- Shake, we found our couch at Sofas Direct (the same place we got our living room furniture) and ordered it. In 6-8 weeks we will be enjoying our new micro-fiber, sectional with 2 recliners and scotch-guard in our family room. February 15, 2004 Dan and Coral went to church and CCD/Publix this week. After that and nap-time, we went for a visit at the Shaffer's house. We stayed there all night...fun times! February 16, 2004 Happy President's Day!!! We had the day off (except for Ian), so Dan did the annual postponed from MLK Day trip on the gambling boat with Doug. While Dan was off losing his money, Amy, Coral and Jordan were off spending the rest of it in the mall and various department stores in Brevard County. February 17, 2004 Coral gave Dan and Amy a presentation of her school work today. This was done instead of having a Parent-Teacher Conference. We found this much more helpful because we got to see how she is doing and everything that she is working on in school. February 18, 2004 The last day of practice for the Dolphins went well...we are now ready for the season! February 19, 2004 Jordan and Coral had gymnastics today, so Dan got them and we rescheduled Coral for Friday's because T-Ball games will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting next week...when did our lives get so filled-up with activities, and it's just starting. February 20, 2004 After work, daycare and school, we stopped and got pizza and McDonalds (we had a coupon for a free pizza, so the kids got what they wanted...Micky-Ds). Later, Dan and Amy had their first attempt at watching "Philadelphia"...Amy was just too tired. February 21, 2004 Today was Opening Ceremonies for the Merritt Island Lassie League. Dan and Coral had to be there at 9 AM for pictures. Then at 10:30 AM, after Amy, Jordan, and Ian got there, they had introductions of everyone involved, including the teams. The Dolphins, lead by Dan, ran around the bases as a team with our names being called out on the PA. Dan finished at the end of the pack due to the girls' energy levels being so high and Dan's age (ok, there I said it, now leave me alone). We had a bat-around at high noon and the team had fun. Then Amy, Jordan and Ian had enough fun for one day and packed it in while Coral and Dan spent the rest of the day watching all the other teams play. We had a great day and was blessed with gorgeous weather...Dan even started his summer tan early. Much later, Dan and Amy finished "Philadelphia"...this was the first time Amy saw this movie and she gives it 3 "long winks". February 22, 2004 Amy and Coral had their turn at Church and CCD/Publix this morning. After lunch and nap time, Dan and Amy did some much needed yard work. Actually, Amy was continuing from yesterday. See, it is not always good to have sunny 80-degree weather in February...it also means that you have to get back to work, but you won't hear us complaining. February 23, 2004 Another warm and sunny day to start off the week...ahhh, spring is upon us. February 24, 2004 Happy Mardi Gras!!! Dan is part of the LSSC Activities Committee and he was in charge of the Fat Tuesday Bake-off for the entire contract, so he was busy with all the final logistics of that today. Coral was upset because her first official game got cancelled because it rained like cats and dogs all day. Dan also added another Rich Story for everyone to read. February 25, 2004 Happy Ash Wednesday!!! We received some great NEWS from Coral's school today. Along with that news, we also wanted to report our traditional Lenten abstinences. Dan and Amy will be giving up red-meat, because Dan needs to and Amy is just a follower. The kids are going with a safety-in-the-circus theme this year, Coral will be giving up her Lion Taming, Jordan will be giving up her Street Magic, and Ian will be giving up his Sword-Swallowing. February 26, 2004 Dan took Coral and Jordan to the dentist this morning for their check-ups...Jordan is doing great, but Coral may need some help. There is one baby-tooth in the way of an adult tooth growing in behind it and some of her back teeth will need some kind of work (not sure what), but this is to help prevent later problems. Dan and Coral also had their first official Dolphins' game today. The field was kind of muddy and it was kind of cold, but the game went on and all the girls had a blast. Dan entered a classic Rich Story today, make sure and visit! February 27, 2004 Dan and Amy surprised Coral by visiting her at school for lunch...well, she ate and we watched. Dan and Amy acted like they were dating again by visiting Long John Silver's for their lunch. This is a place they used to frequent on every 1st of each month for their anniversary (insert "ahhhh, isn't that sweet" here). Later, Dan took Coral for here night of gymnastics. February 28, 2004 Dan and Amy did some work outside in the front yard. Later, while Amy and Coral went to Publix, Dan did the taxes and the bills, which took all night to complete. February 29, 2004 Happy Leap Day!!! Dan and Coral went to Church and Coral went to CCD...no Publix (see February 28th). Amy then went to the store to get a few things for around the house. Then it was more gardening for Dan and Amy...it case you haven't noticed, we have a lot of work to do in the front yard and we aren't even close to completion. Today marks the first year since we moved to Florida in 2000 that we didn't have any visitors or guests the entire month of February. |
