| Here is what is going on with the Florida Remberts |
| February 1, 2003 Today was a very tragic day for the end of the STS-107 mission... please pray for their brave souls and their families that they left behind. February 2, 2003 Happy Matty Birthday and Groundhog Day! Spring has started in Florida...it was a gorgeous day! After Amy and Coral got back from the Church/CCD/Shopping Extravaganza, we ate lunch then got to work. We did some work on the back porch and yard and even cut the grass (weeds)...just your basic "spring cleaning" stuff. February 3, 2003 After work, school and daycare, Amanda, one of the kids from daycare, had her 3rd birthday party at Wendy's. So we headed on over there and Wendy's has a clown come and do some face-painting and some ballon-animal-making...lots-o-fun for the kids! February 4, 2003 Dan and Amy attended the Astronaut Memorial at the Vistor's Center with the rest of the LSSC to show are respects. Later, they showed the memorial service at JSC, so I guess it was a day of remembering the heroes of STS-107. February 5, 2003 Jordan wasn't feeling good this morning and spit-up on the way to daycare, so Amy stayed home with her while Dan and Coral went on their way. Later, we found a cheep plumber to fix the pipes in the back bathroom, and he did a great job, so that's good news! February 6, 2003 Happy 11 Month Birthday to Ian!!! Amy had to make-up some time at work, so she went in early and stayed late. Jordan was doing better today, so it was back to daycare for her. Dan was in charge of the kids in the morning....that wasn't good for Coral and Jordan's hair....it means, back to the basics. You would think that with all those years of long hair for Dan, he might of learned a few tricks...but no. February 7, 2003 KSC had a memorial service today for the 7 astronauts...Dan and Amy didn't make it, but they watched on TV...it was nice. Being Friday, it was time for a movie...the kids got "Spirit" and the grown-ups got "3,000 Miles to Graceland". Amy did stay awake, but it must of been the caffeine in her drink because she didn't seem all that impressed with the movie...3 1/2 "long winks". The only saving grace for this moving was the scenes in Las Vegas for Dan...Kevin Costner as a bad guy, give me a break! The movie was like an Elvis Impersonator, good for a laugh, but when you think about it, tacky and kinda embarrassing to watch. February 8, 2003 After gymnastics, Amy, Coral and Jordan got home and we did some cleaning and laundry. February 9, 2003 Church, CCD and shopping for Dan and Coral, then back to work around the house...got to get ready for the guests. Starting on the 12th, over the next 75 days we will have visitors for 53 days... that's a lot of entertaining! February 10, 2003 Back to the grind of work, school and daycare, then back to cleaning. February 11, 2003 Just made final preparations for the next 53 of 75 days at the Bolton Bed and Breakfast. February 12, 2003 Dan got to work early to take Coral to Daisy's and then headed home to do the final round of cleaning. Meanwhile, Ian is ready to start walking...he took a couple steps at daycare and then at home again...so watch out! Later, about 8:15, Tim, Marcy, Natilie, Dave, Tracy and Gary arrived for their extended weekend get-away from the cold, go to the Daytona 500, and to stay at the beautiful Bolton Bed and Breakfast. February 13, 2003 Amy went to work early so she could go with Coral to the "Love Bug Bash" at school. They had food and games for the kids, which Amy worked at one of them...it was a lot of fun! The guests spent their first full day relaxing by the pool. February 14, 2003 Happy V-day!!! While the guests were off having fun at Island's of Adventure in Orlando, the Florida Remberts were at work, school, and daycare and to El Charro's for our Valentine's Day meal. Everyone got back to the house about the same time to do some drinking and "catching-up" for the rest of the night and into the wee-hours of the morning. February 15, 2003 The day started with some world-famous chocolate-chip pancakes, and then Amy, Coral and Jordan went to gymnastics. The rest of the day was spent outside playing cards and drinking until it got too hot,so Dan, Dave and Tim jumped in the pool to cool (cold) off. Later, to thank us for the stay at the Bolton Bed and Breakfast, we all went to the Sunset Cafe and even got to see where it gets its name from....a beautiful sunset transpired while we waited for our seats. February 16, 2003 Today was race-day so Dan, Tim, Dave, Gary and Tracy all got up early to go to Daytona for the race. There were 2 rain delays and then finally they called it after only 109 laps (272.5 miles out of 500) with Michael Waltrip in the lead. The rain caused the shortest Daytona 500...of course this is the one Dan decides to go to for the first time. While the race was going on, Amy, Marcy, and the kids all went to the Brevard Zoo. The race fans finally got home after a 5-hour traffic delay...you would think the City of Daytona would have this figured out by now. February 17, 2003 Happy Pres-day! The guests decided that they had enough heat for a while so they went home to one of the biggest snow storms in years. The rest of the day was spent getting the house back to normal. February 18, 2003 Back to the grind...so let's talk about Ian crawling. He is getting pretty good...in fact, I would go so far as to say he is officially a crawler! That is faster than both Coral and Jordan. February 19, 2003 Not much to report today...just the calm before the storm. February 20, 2003 Another normal day, so let's talk about TV...Survivor is going down hill...they used to get intelligent people to be on the show and they truely out-wit each other. For this show, these people are so stupid that they will have problems with keeping their shoes tied....good luck folks. February 21, 2003 Amy went in early today so that she could get Coral and her two friends, Molly and Marisa (Coral's friends not Amy's), and have them over to play with Coral. Well it was a good thing because Ian came down with a fever and Amy was able to get him and Jordan from Sherri's. After Dan got done with his BIG project at work (he completed and submitted the Title V Permit renewal application to the state, which is the biggest part of what he deals with on a day-to-day basis at work...this was about 6 months in the making), he came home and took care of Ian while Jordan, Coral, Marisa, and Molly were treated to McDonalds by Amy. February 22, 2003 After gymnastics, the day was spent trying to get Ian better and bring down the fever...he rested all day and by evening, it was successful. The weather is really cooperating also, we had the windows open all day and enjoyed the breezy day. Later, Dan and Amy watched "Leon, the Professional" during the hard rains that came in the evening. Dan enjoyed it a little more than Amy, but she also liked it pretty well... she gives it 3 "long winks". February 23, 2003 After Church/CCD/Shopping, we enjoyed more of the perfect weather. Ian was over his fever, so we all spent the day outside. We played on the swings (well the kids did for the most part), we did some sunbathing (and called northerners to rub it in), played on the porch, ate dinner on the porch, and finished with an evening walk around the neighborhood. The only indoor activities were hair cuts...Dan cut Ian's (his first at home with the clippers and now he looks even more like Daddy) and Amy cut Dan's (we're not keeping a running total on how many this is for Dan). February 24, 2003 Back to the grind...at least the weather is still great. Check out this bit-o-great news. February 25, 2003 After work, school and daycare, we stopped by Papa John's to get pizza for our latest visitors from the Great White North (aka, Pittsburgh). Amy's parents came down to stay at Cocoa Beach for John's birthday (today) and to get away from the snow for a while. February 26, 2003 Today was Daisy Day, so Dan did the early thing and Coral did the troop thing...they had Police Officers there so the kids could learn some safety and get an ID made...no, they didn't get to play with their guns, Coral was crying about that. February 27, 2003 Some very sad NEWS came out of Pittsburgh today about everyone's childhood friend, Mr. Rogers. He was a big influence on Dan's life and we all hope that he rests in peace. Not much going on down in Florida, just a change in the weather...looks like rain for a couple of days. February 28, 2003 After work, Dan and a few people from work headed out on the Sterling Cruise Line to do some gambling. The bad news is, Dan didn't do so good, but the good news is, he had plenty of company because everyone lost their money. Also, since he did so bad this time around at gambling, Dan figures that this means he will make a killing in Vegas...woo hoo! |
