The Story of Echo 11
Resume Page
As the Sphere project developed, the direction altered and so did the name.  Echo 11 was replaced as the new name for the new focus in late 1998.  Echo 11 consisted of Rich Rust, Matt Rust, and Dan Rembert.  Originally the trios motivation remained on the tasks to write and record, but as songs progressed and excitement ensued the thought of a gig-band became a welcomed change and a new goal.  The members of Echo 11 revealed their new name at that point and also uncovered their talents.

The band moved out of the studio and into the rehearsal space and exposed the new material to the world.  The band not only created and produced the concept, but they quickly were dubbed the house band for the annual
Rockin Christmas Eve Concerts.  This was a one night concert which showcased the talents of many performers from many different generations. Songs from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, as well as original hits were performed during these casual and fun-filled shows.  The show immediately became a mini-lollapalooza of many generations and a platform for Echo 11, which allowed them the stage to demonstrate their capabilities.  In these sessions and other impromptu shows, Echo 11 often played past masterpieces like Hands Wandering, Little Guitar, When Will the Summer Come?!?!, and other classics out of nowhere.  The talents of Echo 11 were evident when the members routinely switched instruments and frequently invited the crowd to sing with them.  The fans witnessed the creativity and showmanship that made this talented three-some a hit with the crowd year after year.

In 2000, Dan left the band, but the shows must go on.  The annual
Rockin Christmas Eve Concerts continued the tradition that Echo 11 intended.  Members of the old band often make surprise appearances at the holiday spectacular.  In fact it only took a few months to see them again on stage.  In December 2000, the 2000 Rockin Christmas Eve Concert featured the reunion of Dan with the rest of Echo 11 during the show.  Soon after this show, Rich took his talents to San Francisco and Dan returned to Florida to continue to pursue his career.  The split never stopped Matt in his quest for the perfect recording.  You can often find him with headphones and guitar in hand at his own recording studio making his own music.  Echo 11 may have called it quits, but the dream lives on through the music and the laughter of the shows.
