The Song the Fox Sings

(part of a longer allegory)

Come laugh with me, or do you grieve
Are my tracks paced fast all you believe?
I'll tell you now, within your heart
My escape is all that your death needs.
I paint your world in leaps and darts
That will melt one day between your teeth.
Creator calls me by his Son's smarts
But you still call my Mystery.
Hear my call in the cold bright air,
Feel me pant up a rocky stair!
Listen close to a seabird's cry.
As not into water, but woods I dive--
In green-sharp youth that in brown crumbles
The same blue sky where thunder tumbles.
Run on against me in the suns
My dear hunter, in bloodlust we're one!
Chase me, Chase me!
