A Modern Day Fairy Tale
Chapter 17 Questioning

A few months go by and they continue to grow closer and make even more plans for the future.  Lonely-Heart thinks she might eventually get to have that family shes always dreamed of.
One thing holds her back from completely committing to Mr. Perfect.  He has a good job and owns a house, but he never seems to have any money.  Now you can ask anyone who knows her and the one common thread in Lonely-Hearts life is the cha-ching.  Shes not a miser.  She has loaned or given away more money than shed like to remember.  Every family member has benefited from her largess at one time or another.  Shes not the most financially sound person, but she likes to spend money in her own way.  She has the nickname of The Bank.  Her nephew has even drawn a picture of her with little dollar signs where her eyes are supposed to be.  She does keep a budget, but has also maxed out most of her credit cards.  Shes in the process of getting out of debt at present.  Mr. Perfects lack of ready cash and the continuing breaking down of his car, or not paying his cell phone bill worries her for their future.  One red flag has been raised.
The thing about doubtsonce one has found a place to set down roots they seem to spread and grow like kudzu.  For those not of southern heritage, kudzu is the gnat of the plant world.  They both seem to form out of thin air, you cant locate the original source and you can never seem to completely rid an area of either one.
Okey-dokey, now for red flag number twoMr. Perfect calls her Hun all the time and never by her name.  Once he calls her Beth, which is NOT her name.  Things begin to fall apart for Lonely-Heart.  She finds out that he has more than one email and IM alias.  After a weekend visit with her (where he does not sleep over) she finds evidence that he emailed another woman, and visited web pages of other single women.  These all add up to one thing.  Mr. Perfect is not so perfect.
Lonely-Heart has a very dark heart at times.  She allows her carnal side to control her thought patterns.  She is a suspicious woman, and she begins to do a little sleuthing.  Not wanting to falsely accuse him, she acts as normal as possible around him, but when shes alone, she tries to find out everything she can about his activities.
One thing to noteLonely-Heart isnt a complete imbecile.  At the beginning of this romance, she ran a criminal background search on the man.  She wanted to be sure she wasnt dating a pedophile or a serial robber.  He appeared to be clean.  Too bad there isnt a way to search for serial liars and cheaters.
