     Why was there a shortage of Rockfish a few years ago and why is there the current shortage of blue crabs? The water quality of the bay is responsible for many of the serious environmental problems occurring in the Chesapeake Bay today. These environmental problems can also lead to economic problems for Marylanders.  Government is responsible for providing public services and making economic decisions for it’s constituents.  What involvement should the government have in this situation? This WebQuest challenges you to determine the state of the Chesapeake Bay, create a special interest group whose goal is to protect the Bay,  contact a public official to inform them of your findings and propose federal legislation that promotes preserving the Bay.
