Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38)On Sunday, August 21, 2005, my son Javon accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and was baptized at McKinley Ave. Church of Christ. I've never been more proud of him. It is a blessing and a joy to see a child take that first step in becoming a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ, and a doer of God's Holy Word. I want to give a personal thank you to Mrs. Newton and her children: Wesley, Natalee, and Lydia, for showing their support at Jay's baptism, and the entire congregation of McKinley Church of Christ for helping Jay along the straight and narrow path of righteousness and faith. I want to give an extra special thanks to my wife Chelesa for teaching Jay about Jesus through God's Word, and I most definitely want to thank God for His un-ending Love and Mercy He has given me and my family.
