Day 2 - Part 8

We eat in silence. She tries to ask me few personal questions but for some reason I don't feel like sharing my relationship with my mother right now. Soon she doesn't even try.
She finishes her sandwich and goes to lye on the bed. She looks up to the roof.
-Did you know that if you stare those points up there long enough you start to hallucinate?
I take a quick look up and shake my head.
-Really, you should try it sometimes. It's funny and healthy.
-Healthier than drugs?
-Much healthier.

Cara felt suddenly relieved seeing Nick coming back to the room. He going after Pie had also made Peach little angry. She had gone after them but didn't return with Nick.
Cara just kept dancing because she didn't know what else to do. And as long as Nick was in the same room with her, she felt cozy.

-Where did you leave Kevin? Brian asked when Nick came back.
-He went to the toilet, Nick answered and sat down crunching his face.
-Wasn't a success? Howie questioned.
-Easy for you to say, Nick said. You already have a girlfriend. You all have someone. And all I have is mom and you.
Everyone were bit shocked because of Nick's statement.
-Hey man, don't get down because of one rejection, AJ noted.
-You think I would? Nick smiled. But this party probably doesn't hold anyone proper for me.
-What about her? AJ nodded in Cara's direction.
-Who? You mean the blonde? Don't you think she's little too old to me?
AJ laughed warmly noticing woman at her late 40's across the room.
-No not her. That girl right there.
-What girl?
-Oh, she's so short you probably don't see her from there.
Nick leaned closer to AJ and between people he finally saw Cara.
-You mean that really little one with red hair?
-Yeah, just that.
-She looks kind of young, doesn't she? Leighanne commented.
-To get this party you must be 21 or really popular. Which she isn't, right?
-No, Alicia answered to Howie. I mean at least I haven't seen her anywhere.
-You are the only one of us keeping track of those things, AJ said. So we trust that she's 21. Nick, look at her. She's obviously here alone. I mean what harm could it do?
Nick explored Cara with his eyes. She was dancing little offbeat in a way that seemed completely intended. She was wearing black dress that was tied up in the back of her neck leaving her shoulders bare. It was actually little too big for Cara but it managed to look both classy and casual and little bit hided the fact that she was only 16 and not fully developed yet. Her hair was just a little messy and dyed with one color (red to celebrate Christmas).
-Boy she's short, Nick sighed.
Even with her 3-inch heels Cara was only 5'4".
-So? Imagine what your effect on her will be with your height, Howie said.
-You'd be one to know, AJ joked.
-Hey wait, she looks like she's about to leave the room, Brian said. Oh no, she looks in our direction. Come on Nick, go already!
-Should I?
Suddenly Nick looked like a young boy.
-Yeah man, Brian encouraged him. Go go go!
Little hesitating Nick stood up.

Peach wandered around trying to find Pie. But she couldn't. She couldn't ask anyone, she had no one to turn to. Her only support had disappeared.
Peach could seem like head of the f-group but she couldn't have done it without Pie's help. Their age gave them obvious advantages considering other fans. And the fact that from her 22 years age Peach had been touring with Boys for 6 years. She often remembered the beginning, when they have almost been friends with boys. Then it got too organized, too big. Both for boys and fans.
Peach looked around once more but couldn't spot Pie so she decided to return to Cara. But when she walked into the room she saw Nick approaching Cara.
