Scientific Name: Cortunix chinensis

Origin: Australia and Asia

Size: 12-13cm

Description: Males Dark brown back and top of head, blue/grey on their flanks, breast and side of head.  Underbelly is rusty brown in colour.  White and black bib on their throat.  Red eyes, balck beak and yellow orange legs.
Females Overall a dark brown colour with yellowish stripes on their backs.  Their underbelly and throat are a lighter brown.  They have yellowish orange legs and brown eyes.

There are several different colour variations.  The description above is the normal colour which I have a pair of, I also have a silver female.

There are several different colour variations.  The description above is the normal colour which I have a pair of, I also have a silver female.

I have 3 birds, 2 female and one male.  They make and interesting addition to a garden aviary.
