SUMMARY:
In the hills of Virginia, something evil has awakened. A newborn child is brought to Roanoke Hall, an old hospital which now serves as an orphanage and minimum security juvenile facility, and Clarice Parks (Jennifer Connelly), the resident child psychologist is immediately drawn to the infant boy for the unusual fact that it has never uttered a sound. But then she discovers a presence in the halls of the orphanage that seems to be interested in the child as well.

When a prominent doctor from Roanoke Hall is brutally murdered in what looks like a cult killing, agent Joseph Campbell (Thomas Jane) is brought in due to his past experience in ritualistic killings. When he makes a startling connection between the doctor and the infant, he teams with Clarice to investigate the sinister spirit that seems intent on harming the child.

As more unusual killings occur, Clarice and Joseph dig deeper into the mystery behind them and find themselves in the middle of a holy war that’s been going on for thousands of years and it’s up to them to save the child, for he may be the world’s only salvation.
