This is a cut and paste hatchet job from the main page so you can follow the construction here at TDMMDI - otherwise, it's really for me so I know what I've done over the last week, month, etc.
30.12.03 - happy holidays from TDMMDI! - click here to view the holiday card.
20.12.03 - I've been very busy, very tired, and slightly ill so here it is, a week after the fact...the important tidbits of information from the 14.12.03 chat over at duffylovers. I tried to condense down what was chatted about at the chat into the most important morsels that someone not wanting to wade through the entire chat transcript (a transcript that I never was able to make because Yahoo! chat is pretty dumb, you can't even cut and paste any of the text! :P) might want to read. so...here it is.
you know what I just realized today? I don't have a link up on the top for the Q&A. oops. so I've added it on the right hand side, but it's not there on the sitemap (for anyone paying attention...). there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why I've put one link on the left side and not the other, so maybe when I have some free time I'll fix it.
06.12.03 - in honour of the first snowstorm of the 2003-2004 Washington D.C. winter, here's a little something to get you in the mood.
gone away, is the bluebird...
here to stay, is the new bird...
he sings a love song,
as we go along,
walkin' in a winter wonderland...
so think of me when you are at Bush Hall (or wherever you happen to be Saturday night) because I will likely be exhausted, having shoveled 6 to 10 inches of snow off a suburban driveway. speaking of suburban items. I was aware of the MS Society's charity album through members of duffylovers but had yet to post it on this page, because I was waiting (rather daftly I suppose) for Stephen to send me something brilliant on the subject of the CD. as he didn't, and I have been swamped with work and suffering from what seems to be a perpetual backache, I got an email this week from the folks at the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Society who asked me to post the following:

Reading the details on the MS Society's website of how this album came about, I thought it was incredibly sweet of Steve Somerset to organize the artists and songs for this CD in honour of his wife and the 50th anniversary of the MS Society. I myself live with a (so-far) incurable chronic illness, and gosh, I wish my disease had a organization like the MS Society, with such a long and storied history of help and assistance to those with or otherwise touched by such a debilitating disease. (In a related sidenote, it makes me wonder how the UK manages to take care of their people so well through healthcare whilst this country's healthcare system appears to be in a perpetual shambles.) So please, give a thought to the MS Society, a truly worthy cause, this holiday season.
in other news, Stephen hasn't gotten back to me yet since he was in Los Angeles (I just love how you Brits pronounce the word like "Ange-gel-leeeez" because it sounds better than "Ange-gel-ess" like we say it here) but I've been cooking up some other ideas for other sections here until he responds to me again - since I don't know when that will be. I admit it, I have been too lazy to do my annual update of my "me" page - it seems that most of my job involves updating something - whether it be drug records on AIDSinfo, or protocol abstracting on ClinicalTrials.gov - so I'm kind of scared of the word "update" now! AIDSinfo just had a major drug record and search engine revamp (we actually had a pizza party today, which sorta sucks for me since I'm allergic to wheat, but I snuck a couple small pieces...) so tiptoe over there if you're interested in what I do for a living. Otherwise I've been too busy and too tired to do anything for myself. A tad depressing, I know - but hey, it is paying the bills and keeping me in with healthcare so I don't have a lot of options. recovery my foot. I shouldn't complain. I like what I do and it's wonderful I found a job writing, which is one of my favorite things in the world to do. I've always wanted to be a writer so I guess this is a good first step. I guess I am a little bummed because my "big" (well, big in the Chinese sense of it, since it is the year of the sheep) birthday last month wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. I need to start taking my own advice of "expect nothing, anticipate everything" because I end up expecting all these things to happen when my relatives come for Thanksgiving and nothing happens the way I expect or hope. I know you can't expect much in a family of nearly 65 people (that's my mother's side only and for your information, I counted, in the off-chance I *ever* get married) because every holiday ends up being huge and extremely impersonal affairs, but that really can't be helped. as Bruce Hornsby captured so brilliantly - "that's just the way it is." sigh.
thanks to everyone who sent me birthday wishes and presents - you know who you are :) I got one hell of a birthday present the week before my birthday, and 2 more are said to be on the way. really wish I could be with you all for the Lilac gig tonight but alas, I am not. and for some reason, just like the Cologne gig, it is snowing like the dickens here and while I am a prisoner of my house for the weekend, you all will be gigging, catching up with old friends, and getting pissed drunk. so not fair! I will have to entertain myself with "Are You Being Served?" and "The Royal" tonight I suppose. I don't know how behind we are on the west side of the Atlantic but after reading that the show started in January, I must be really quite behind, now I find out they've gotten us started on season 2 and so I guess I need to figure out what happened in the first season... It's a beautiful location I think, and it's near where Andy Taylor's bar is/was (Whitby, for you trivia buffs). personally for me the best parts of the show are all the great music on it - wow, what a throwback, you've got the Spencer Davis Group for the theme song (yes, little Stevie Winwood) I recognized "Hippy Hippy Shake," "Needles and Pins," and I already heard the Beatles and Gerry and the Pacemakers. it's a veritable feast of great British oldies, if you ask me. it doesn't hurt that Dr. David Cheriton (played by Julian Ovenden) is such a cutie!
16.11.03 - it's getting positively frigid here. a bunch of duffylovers had some fun in Windsor yesterday and I'm depressed I wasn't there. even more depressed that the Duffy gig on December 6 will soon come and I will not be in attendance. how ironic it is that I was at the Duran show at the Warner Theatre on November 9 yet I still have not managed to see Stephen in concert even once. funny that...
because I am a lazy sod, I haven't gotten around to posting the pictures of me as a Devilette. I thought about wearing the horns to the Warner concert so maybe Nick would see me but he was so far back I doubt he saw much during the show at all. hohum. besides, two 6'+ guys in front of me didn't help the situation. we broke all sorts of cold temperature records that night so in retrospect I am glad I had my fluffy purple Land's End jacket (with nubby hood) on me instead of trying to get away with the horns!
I have finally linked a ton of Stephen photos that I uploaded last year but never got around to linking to. so they are there now. have some fun perusing them if you like. I'm not sure where Stephen is right now - he hasn't written me in over two months so I assume he's yukking it up with Robbie. *sniff* I guess he's more interesting than I am. in less than 2 weeks I will be in the thick of turkeys, cranberry sauce, and more and more relatives. the family coach, indeed...
26.10.03 - a couple more days before Halloween. but there are more interesting things other than my devil costume (hopefully pictures will follow). first, I added a whole bunch of Nick Rhodes pictures in the Nick photo gallery so there's a whole two new pages tacked on the end for you Rhodies. now for some Stephen news...
Robbie Williams has done it again. well, you're probably asking yourself, *what* praytell has he done now? and I will tell you, grasshopper.
first, there was a minor (IMO) bombshell (a month or two ago) dropped regarding Robbie Williams' tour in the land of kangaroos, wallabies, and dingos. it appeared that Duran Duran would be doing their first show Down Under in *years* but they wouldn't be headlining these shows. nope, they would be openers for Monsieur Williams. believe me, there were catcalls, complaints, and the whole nine yards regarding this in the Duran world. me personally wasn't up and arms over this. The Aussies and their NZ counterparts have been waiting years for the opportunity, and as everyone knows, DD has no record contract and they should be thanking their lucky stars that such a big star is allowing them to go play somewhere they haven't been in so long.
so here comes the part about Duffy. cut and pasted from the online Sunday Mirror:
ROBBIE'S HITMAN Oct 26 2003: Shock Tin Tin adventure for WilliamsHE famously turned his back on the man who helped make him a star after 11th hour talks between them broke down.
And now - a year on - Robbie Williams has finally found a replacement for hit songwriter Guy Chambers.
I can reveal that the Robster has bizarrely teamed up with - wait for it - 80s sensation Stephen "Tin Tin" Duffy.
Yes, you heard it right - "Tin Tin" Duffy. Not surprisingly, the partnership has stunned many in the Robster camp.
My mole tells me: "A lot of people are very surprised. Tin Tin is a very nice man, but he isn't exactly one of the hottest songwriters in town.
"But Robbie thinks he will definitely be able to sustain his success with Tin Tin by his side."
For those of you who don't know, Tin Tin's big claim to fame is that he quit boyband Duran Duran before they made it big.
He was replaced by hunky Simon Le Bon. He then went on to enjoy some success with the No4 hit Kiss Me - way back in 1985.
After that, he unplugged the synthesiser and embarked on a lonely career.
And he hasn't exactly set the world on fire ever since.
While Robbie, 29, was making a name for himself during the 90s, old Tin Tin embarked on a soul-destroying trip round record companies which sent him spiralling into depression and resulting in four years in therapy.
But Robbie, who has conquered his own demons after hitting drink and drugs in 1995, believes his new partnership could be bigger than the one with Guy, which produced massive hits such as Angels, Let Me Entertain You and Millennium.
Fingers crossed it does.
Meanwhile, I can also reveal that the Robster will also be following in the footsteps of The Beatles when he performs in front of just 300 people at the legendary Abbey Road studios next month.
Only a select few celebrities - including his pals Max Beesely and Jonathan Wilkes - have been invited to the top secret show.
Robbie will take to the stage on November 19 - and the show will undoubtedly be the hottest gig in town.
Radio 2 will be recording the gig and it will be the highlight of their Christmas schedule.
Details of the secret gig were due to be announced on Steve Wright's show this week.
Sorry, Steve. I'm just no good at keeping secrets.

meanwhile, I have only these three things to say.
1. Stephen, why didn't you tell me?
2. What's going on with November 19? Is it some Wiccan holiday or something we don't know about?
3. er...why wasn't I invited?
*sulks in the corner*
28.09.03 - a smallish update to let you know what's been going on. I've had "Keep Going" for a couple weeks now and I'm trying to warm up to it. it has its moments but I think it hasn't bowled me over yet, in the way the "it hits the spot" feeling you get from the life- and love-affirming "I Love My Friends" or the forlornly beautiful "Looking for a Day in the Night" knocked me for six in a good way. I think KG will be "a grower album" for me but right now I'm looking at it as LFADITN part II with a good bit of countrified pop ala "Duffy" thrown in for good measure.
I'm glad that Claire's talent was tapped again for this effort, but where oh where is the Nick Duffy instrumental? The Lilac Time just isn't really the Lilac Time without a toe-tapping Nick number. in my opinion anyway. Stephen has always been good at writing things that tug at the heartstrings, but this time I think it's all too painful for me. it must make me an awful Duffster but I've felt like running to "The Ups and Downs" for a breather whilst listening to the new album, if only for some comic relief. "Duffy" was never one of my favorite albums, so the country inflections aren't among my faves either. I'm not saying don't go out and get this album - but just noting that this is not a particularly upbeat album, and I think it may be less accessible to those not familiar with TLT or Stephen's music. on the Duran front... the reunion 5 have been busy traipsing around the States (after several well-publicised dates in Japan), playing in various festivals and such and they appear to be heading down Down Under to perform in New Zealand and Australia in early December (so good for the fans down there, I know they have been waiting for a long time). due to a scheduling mishap of a local radio station, DD is not coming to D.C. anytime soon. :P it's hard for me to be excited about DD, as there's no new album out, no definite tour news in the U.S., and I'm not (so far) impressed by the new songs that have come out via bootlegs of the concerts. maybe it's just me but I need a break from the madness (or lack thereof) surrounding Duran right now.
I forget now if I mentioned it to you all but I did send out a list of 10 questions to both Stephen and Nick, with the hopes that they would answer at their convenience. after getting pretty much blown off 3 different times by Katy Krassner (DD's beleaguered U.S. publicist - I know she's busy but heck, if Nick wants to keep the Devils thing alive, he has to get his hands dirty) who told me that Nick was too busy and too concentrated on the DD reunion, I threw my hands up in the air and gave up with that part. Stephen told me he'd answer my questions eventually but since he's enjoyed your questions more than the ones I went out of my way to come up with, I've decided not to pursue it any further. if either of them decide to surprise me by answering my queries then of course I will post them - but I've decided I'm through with pestering them. trying to keep this whole Devils mystique alive is not worth me losing sleep over it! so I've decided to lay low for a while. Stephen has been on hols for quite a while now, and when he returns, hopefully he will get to the questions from you guys that I've forwarded along to him.
I think I have sort of deciphered the message about "Party Monster" on thelilactime.com. I had no clue what he was talking about until I read today's "Sunday Source" section of The Washington Post which described this indie movie as a mismatch of Macaulay "Home Alone" Culkin and Seth "Dr. Evil's son" Green playing kids who are in the disco scene of years gone by. it must be an indie as it's playing only at Visions downtown, where movies that can't make it in mainstream theatres are played. I have no details about the soundtrack so maybe later Stephen can enlighten us as to why he thinks it's so groovy.
22.08.03 - more updates to the Stephen q&a section. slight disappointment in not being able to fix up this main page yet, but I have a *very valid* reason, folks - I have found a job! I will be starting the new job - a writing job related to AIDSinfo.nih.gov and clinicaltrials.gov this coming Monday (thank you for all the pozzie vibes!), so I'll have a little less time to putter around here. but do not worry, I will still be around, I just may be a little slower in the uptake.
Stephen has been very groovy about responding to your questions so I hope this is a feature of TDMMDI which will continue for a long time to come. 14.08.03 - happy birthday to TDMMDI! - I've updated quite a bit, including the links, the transcriptions page, added some pictures to the Nick pix gallery, did a major overhaul of the Stephen Duffy FAQ. will probably rearrange this main page in the coming days.
| 13.08.03 - tomorrow's the big day! will be updating the new Stephen q&a section periodically
this week and continually until Stephen gets tired of answering and threatens to throw tomatoes at me, or I get tired of updating ("we'll see who rusts first" (1)). in our first installment - Paula asks about the
"sweeter, stronger, more emotional" voice of Stephen Duffy, and Michael wonders why the gem "An Open Book" wasn't released any earlier.
got a question for Stephen regarding the "Keep Going" album? then send them to me and please make sure to include "Duffy question" in the subject line - thanks! for you Nick fans, Mr. Rhodes is on holiday and will not be answering any of my queries until his return in September (if that). I hope to report back with his q&a then. for now, I've got another job interview on Thursday, and will be waiting for the result of the last one (so send those pozzie vibes this way)... |

08.07.03 - sorry I have been lax in updating, folks. the July 27th gig in the main room of Camden's Cecil Sharpe House has been confirmed and details on getting tickets from Pete Paphides are here on Nic's page, as well as the cover to the "Keep Going" album so go have a looksie.
how coincidental that the last time I made a major update here - 16.06.03 - I receive the following notice from the Folk Modern mailing list (available for viewing at the moment at the top of sd.com:
Hello
Stephen Duffy & the Lilac Time: Keep Going will be released on Folk Modern (by way of Fulfill/Universal) on July 21st 2003. The catalogue number is the rather wonderful FOLKCD001. Congratulations.
In the week of release Stephen will perform 3 in stores in London Birmingham and Glasgow. More information soon.
Tickets for the 27th of July Swaddling Songs performance by Stephen Duffy and the Lilac Time go on sale on June 17th. Nick Duffy may provide a few tunes to start with although he hasn't decided what yet. Then we're hoping to have the first performance by an as yet un-christened duo that will be signing with folk modern soon. Next up the usual overlong and rambling Stephen Duffy bit in which he promises to play some new songs as well as old ones he hasn't played recently. For the encore Stephen will be reunited with Michael Giri Micky Harris and Nick Duffy for the quartet's first get together since the 24th of May 1990 (when they entertained Warwick University on the Free Love tour in support of the album & Love For All).
More news soon at stephenduffy.com
nevertheless interesting. elsewhere of note, the site map is somewhat complete, and I have managed to finally put up two scans, long overdue, in The Devils in Print, courtesy of my friends Jennie and Gary. I'm also thinking of putting in a section of personal favorites called "Flavours of the Moment" - likely to be a section of randomness. maybe I will get to that after I figure out how to put good-looking horns on a bullet. but I am in no rush. is the official Devils site defunct? nobody told me either way. but it has been way too long since the news page has been updated (last December). I guess Nick getting together with his "other" childhood playmates has been getting in the way.
I hope to post whatever photos I get from the July 27th Camden gig here so if you are going, please take note, I will gladly upload your donations here. hope you all are having a good summer and would you get a load of this, this site is rounding its 1st anniversary in a little over a month and a week. I'll have to think of something fun for the first anni...

16.06.03 - new pics from the Cecil Sharpe House gig on May 16th, where Stephen performed an acoustic set (with a mystery partner?),
as he opened for the band Mt. Egypt. thanks to Mark-UK (of the dd.com message board) from some fabulous pics! sorry it has taken me a bit of time
to get these photos up, I've been a little wee busy with following up on some job interviews and right now
I need all the luck I can get (so send those positive vibes this way please, thank you very much).
in other news, it sounds like the "Come Alive" single has been indefinitely postponed, and the Lilac Time album should be out this summer in the UK (predicted release date of July 21), with the release of the album elsewhere in the world to follow sometime before the end of 2003. a solo (? read on...) Stephen gig is planned for July 27, again at Cecil Sharpe House, but this time Stephen plays in the main room with a promise of "the majority of the evening will be a solo performance but then..." so we shall see. Stephen promises "US, French, and German dates to follow" as well as additional UK appearances. |

thank goodness, because I will be missing this third gig in Camden *again* and I'm increasingly getting bummed! (this is all aside to the Japan and West Coast Duran gigs that I am missing, whilst wincing at all the happy people at dd.com who are planning soirees and get-togethers aplenty for Costa Mesa and Las Vegas. I will not be updating my Duran site until the promised album actually makes it to store shelves. in the meantime...the East Coast is getting awfully lonely.) at least this summer will have "Keep Going" to keep *me* going. incidentally, the new album will be on Folk Modern Recording via Fullfill/Universal (FOLKCD001), which makes you wonder if Nick and Stephen will ever sign anyone to the the Tape Modern label, or if that was merely a good idea at the time.
some interesting pictures from Stephen's writing room are on Nic's Geocities site here. these photos remind me that there is some SD/TLT memorabilia out there (the lilac6 poster is nifty) that I don't have yet. then again, I *do* have a "Hold It" promo poster nearly the same age as myself...
I've got a lot of ideas for new stuff on this site. since I know even I get confused sometimes as to where everything is, I'd like to work on a site map to make this more user-friendly but for now, it is just an idea. I'm going in for a chemo treatment tomorrow so I will be forcibly quarantined for the next couple of days so maybe that is what I will work on, if my body cooperates. I think this site does deserve something new, to celebrate this last (I hope for a VERY long time) treatment.
08.04.03 - this update speaks for itself. go here for more details.
I can't stop grinning. thank you Stephen, thank you :)
23.03.03 - a new message at sd.com and confusion abounds. apparently Stephen has more faith in the folks who run www.thedevils.tv than we do (he mentions an update at the official site - I haven't checked in a couple days, maybe they will surprise me!) the Devils' "Come Alive" single has been postponed until 9 June. but I suppose I have been waiting for many things over the last year or so...
maybe I made a good decision waiting on ordering, guessing the new Lilac Time album would be out before even the first Devils' single hits store shelves. speaking of the latest TLT album. Stephen appears to be vacillating on its title, between the original optimistic nom "Keep Going" (striking hope in every TLT fan that yes indeed, the band *is* back together, but in another post-"Astronauts" form) and the decidedly conflict-inspired "An Age of Catastrophe." all we can do at this point is wait and see.
I have been slow in adding some pics and other paraphernalia related to the Devils' February 17th Cologne gig - but now they are at last posted. Three photos from the gig are by Manon, and scans of a flier from the gig as well as a ticket signed by both Nick and Stephen are from Penny - all can be viewed on page 3 of the Cologne gallery. many thanks for the donations!
in other news, "The Aztec Moon Fanzine" - a Devils' fanzine - released its first issue earlier this month. from all accounts it's a fab publication and worth seeking out. information on ordering, and more on what you can expect from the zine is available at http://www.aztec-moon.net.
03.03.03 - happy "New Moon on Monday" everyone! on this most auspicious day I'd like to turn your attention to two new rumblings in the Devils' world. one, the new double A-sided single for "Come Alive/Big Store" is now available for pre-order from Amazon UK - more info about the single is on the news page at Fullfill Records. it's a little confusing at the moment since Amazon UK doesn't have the complete track listing, which I am guessing would include the two heavily-touted remixes of "Come Alive" by Tiga and Felix da Housecat.
two, two fans from France and another from Luxembourg (hi Francisco!) have teamed up to put together "The Aztec Moon Fanzine" - a Devils' fanzine. right now they're planning on a March 12th release date for their first issue - more information is available at http://www.aztec-moon.net.
24.02.03 - the Devils' forthcoming single, a double A-side for "Come Alive" and "Big Store," will be supposedly released on March 3rd on Fulfill Records. You can preorder the single at Amazon UK but there's no news there on the exact tracklisting. I myself am going to wait until I figure out exactly what I'll be getting for 4 quid...
from reports from the Devils' Cologne gig on February 17, the television will be broadcast on German TV (the Arte Channel) on May 6th, with Gary Numan's performance purported to be on first, then the Devils. so if you happen to get this German channel, set your VCRs!
|
gig pics from [email protected] are now posted. they are just lovely - please take a look. thank you Derek for donating them to TDMMDI!
photos from Cologne (specifically two of Nick and Stephen visiting the cathedral in Cologne, and two from the gig rehearsal) have been nicely provided by Deepvisual (thank you Gary!). reviews from Cologne by Graham Buxton, Manon Wortel, and Penny are now posted - check 'em out! anyone with gig reviews and pictures they would like posted (with proper credit given where due, of course!) - please send me an email with whatever you would like to contribute to this site. remember, this site depends on your input! |

06.02.03 - the Devils' Cologne gig, in support of Gary Numan on 17 February to be taped for German television, has been confirmed by Nic Blinston's news page and will be also announced on stephenduffy.com soon enough. whilst your truly stews in the corner at this temporary injustice, I hope anyone lucky enough to go will regale me with tales of this Devils gig (please?) so I will be waiting.
the birth of a new section - "The Devils in Print" - which for now is a humourous bit with some cartoons and some interesting connections. also for your perusal - more links have been added to the transcriptions page (several by the way of Manon!), and more updates should on their way soon.
11.01.03 - a new feature to TDMMDI has been added - Last Thing That You Said, which will feature transcripts and links to Devils, Stephen and Nick related interviews and appearances. submissions and heads-ups are welcome! I have also been adding more songs to my Stephen Duffy lyrics page - one of these days I plan to have a listing of B-side lyrics. (Don't hold your breath, I probably will be moving as fast with this as Stephen is with his memoirs!) Still waiting for the "Come Alive" single to be released with the remixes from Tiga and Felix Da Housecat. "Keep Going" (aka Lilac7/Duffy6) is purported to be released in April on the Devils' Tape Modern label.
13.12.02 - I missed the Regents Park gig on December 7th but from all accounts it was great! so I'm quite envious of all those lucky Brits. today I added some songs to the "Lyrical Genius" page - 'cos I felt like it. and so ends another semester of school. this time I'm taking some time off - I've been a mess (on several different planes) and need some time away from school and work to give this whole career thing a hard look. actually I'd love to have any advice anyone out there has for me regarding changing careers or questioning your career path - b/c right now I'm feeling like I might have gotten a degree in the wrong field! but to end this update on an upswing - there's an update about the new Lilac Time album (coming out in April hopefully) over at stephenduffy.com - and happy holidays to all - stay safe folks!
26.11.02 - hohum. another day, another year older (and a S. Duffy important age at that). thought I would write and wish the Yanks and everyone else who celebrates it an early happy Thanksgiving! sounds like the shooting for the "Big Store" video as well as the November 19 gig at Harvey Nichols went well - there are some lovely pictures hosted over at deepvisual (thank you Gary!) - and yes folks, the ubiquitous APC shirt strikes again! metronome over at the dd.com MB also posted the large versions of the Rex Features' photos of the gig - these are worth a look.
painfully sorry that I have not updated in a while - please chalk it up to a) there not being any new Devils news as of late (apparently their server went down a couple days ago and the news and message boards have been wiped!) and b) yours truly dealing with some heavy health-related issues. I'm hoping a Devils gig will be coming *soon* and that we all will be able to go! here's to hoping...I'm hoping to be up close and personal (front row please *smile*)
05.11.02 - head on over to the official Devils site - as promised, the gig at "the big store" (well, Harvey Nichols) has been announced and soon lucky fans will be able to try and win special invites to the gig.
26.09.02 - submerge yourself away folks. let's just say I was chuffed to get listed on http://www.stephenduffy.com but now I find this site as a recommended stopover for fans of the Devils over on http://www.thedevils.tv ~ big thank you to the Devils Advocate. I'm honored! *the pressure is on* ~ but you think you guys could help me out with some Devils' web exclusives? *winks*
This page is still under major construction and will be on going through major revisions over the next couple of weeks, months, years, who knows? All I know is that what you see here is a work of a very busy graduate student of cell biology and molecular genetics, and I will update the page whenever I can!
The Devils Made Me Do It page here will be a collection of thoughts, reviews, links, and things related to the Devils project of Nick Rhodes, keyboardist of Duran Duran and Duran Duran's original singer, Stephen Duffy, an artist in his own right and with the band The Lilac Time.
I have only recently discovered Stephen Duffy's stuff post-DD and I'm loving what I'm hearing! I have a long way to go in terms of collecting Stephen's stuff, but I started mid-summer with nothing but a sampler CD-R that my friend Chris made for me (for which I will forever be indebted to Chris). One of these days I will register a new nickname on Yahoo! in honor of Mr. Duffy. I'm still knocking around some ideas, mostly around women who have been named in Stephen's songs...tho there hasn't been a Duffy song so far with my name in it! *winks* at least that I know of! I thought about going by the names Natalie and Cindy but then realised that would confuse people...
So that was enough reminiscing, don'tcha think?
