Crabgrass chuckled, "I was right, you are more fun then that fuzzball, but not as much fun as Heather." Max roared, charging Crabgrass. She laughed as their blades meet. Crabgrass blocked Max and twisting her arm around, ran Max threw. Max gasped as the cold metal sliced threw his stomache. Crabgrass grined at him as she withdrew her sword, letting Max fall to the ground.

She stood over him, "Not good enough." she laughed as she lifted her sword to finish him off. With a yeow, Misty launched herself from the tree. She landed on Crabgrass's face, biteing and slashing her with her claws. Just as quikely she jumped away. Crabgrass howled in pain and disapeared into the dark forest. Misty ran over to Max.

"MAX??" said Misty. Max sat up, his wounds already healing.

"I'll be OK, Misty. Thanks." Max stood up, his knees shakeing.

VisionAri stood between the open gates. The fortress was buzzing with activity. Everyone was up. VA was paceing back and forth when Max stagered out of the forest. "MAX!" shouted VA. She started towards him. Max looked up.

"VA, look out." before the words were out of his mouth, VA was slamed to the ground. Crabgrass stood over her for a moment before giggling and running inside. VA cursed as she jumped up.

Heather stood in the main hall, still in her nightgown. She was surounded by Kai clones. Kai10, 14, 16, 17, 18, and 21 stood around her in a lose circle, commanded by their mistresses to watch over her.

Heather trembled. She didn't know when the fear had started turning to anger, but it had. She was getting angry, very angry, but still the fear held her frozen in place. Kai13 hugged Heather, "Let me go get Jade, she'll make you feel better."

"Ok," whispered Heather. Kai 13 headed towards the corridor that lead to the garden. Just then, Max came stagering in the hall. Heather ran over to him and with dgre's help, got him to a chair. "What happened?" asked Dgre, looking at Maaxx's bloody shirt.

"Crabgrass." rasped Maaxx, "She's here, inside somewhere."

A loud snarl vibrated the walls, followed by a loud yelp and a thud. Heather froze for a moment. "JADE!" she screamed. Before anyone could stop her she turned and ran towards the corridor. She slammed the door open and ran down one of the garden's winding paths. She scidded to a stop at the sight of Kai13, or rather the parts of him, scaddered about.

"KAI?" gasped Heather.

"Here Mistress." Heather looked up, wedged between some branches was Kai13's head. The rest of him was in bits around the base of the tree. "That coward attacked me from behind."

Heather spoted Jade across the small meadow, laying on her side. She ran towards her, kneeling beside Jade. Heather layed her hand on Jade's shoulder. Jade wimpered, she pulled her hand back. It was covered with blood. Jade had been stabed in the shoulder, the blood slowly ooozing out. Heather clenched her bloody hand as the fear drained out of her, replaced by a deep, dark rage.

EveningStar knelt down across from Heather, holding a bandage to Jade's wound. She looked up at Heather and flincked. Something in Heather's eyes sent a stab of fear threw her. Heather looked at ES, "Take care of her."

Heather stood up and ran back into the fortress, upstairs and into her chanbers. She threw open her closet and pulled out a black bag from the back. She riped her nightgown off and pulled the clothes out of the bag. She had hoped never to need them when she had bought them months ago. She pulled on the tight pants, The tanktop, knee high leather boots all in the darkest black. She pulled her long lose hair back and tied it with a piece of black rope. She put on her wide belt complete with scabbard.

She turned to her sword, Trollclucker, hanging on the wall. She walked over laying her hand on it. "Sorry old friend, but not this time." She turned away. reaching under her bed she pulled out a long wooden box. She opened it without a thought for the beautifully carved wood of cherry finish. She paused a moment before lifting the sword, EarthFire from it's velvet bed. She admired the carved hilt, shaped like a mass of twisted vines and leaves. Etched into the fine steel blade were green flames, it seemed to shine with an inner light. She quikly slid EarthFire into his scabbard. She then grabbed the dagger that had been laying beside the sword. She admired SinWagon, it's blade etched with wisps of gray smoke, before sliding it into her boot.

Heather stormed out of the fortress, no one daring to stop her. In her heart she knew where Crabgrass was. She ran towards the ruins, intent on ending this before the sun came up. Heather burned with rage as she ran towards the ruins. It clouded her mind, blinded her to everything around her. The forest was a blur around her. The ruins came into view.

She ran and jumped over fallen stones. She somehow found her way to the crumbling roof of the ruins. She knew, somehow, that Crabgrass would be waiting there for her. And there she was, sitting on a fallen stone, smiling, the white blotch across her face glaring in the moonlight.

"Why Heather, I didn't expect you so soon. What a lovely surprise." grined Crabgrass, her voice driping with scarcasum. She stood up, moveing slowly toward Heather. Heather hissed between her teeth. She unsheathed EarthFire, griping it tightly. Inside Heather was fighting for control, trying to clear her mind. But the rage refused to lessen.

"OH by the way, sorry about your puppy." smiled Crabgrass sweetly, "I never was very good with pets." Heather roared as she charged Crabgrass. Crabgrass swung her sword up, blocking Heather. The sound of clashing metal echoed across the roof. Heather came at her again, swinging, slicing, as
