| VisionAri and several others, those who had stayed behind, were being held in the main hall. They were hung from the rafters by vines and apearently were been slowly drained of their energy by the Visarous plant. Ging and Dgre had stayed to help Jade, Maaxx had been recovering from his wounds, ghia and Lomia had stayed to watch the gate. Now they had become food for that plant. Heather spent most of her time sitting in the main hall, grinning and giggling to herself. Kai13 was with her at all times. He was very unhappy but followed her every command. Plump Mouse was happy to report that Jade was doing fine. Kai13 was taking care of her. Heather had mentioned something about needing a good guard dog. ES turned to Plump Mouse, "You did well, rest now." FrogSplash carryed Mouse out of the room. ES looked at the others. "What do we do now?" asked Twilight. "I don't know." said ES, "But we have to do it soon, before that thing kills VA, Max and the others." From the back of the room, MicroMary stood up. "I might have an idea." ***** It took almost another week to get ready. MicroMary set up a temporary lab in part of the emergancy bunker. She never left it, sleeping in a small cot for a few hours, always hurrying. PerfectBlue, Zebeep, and several of the Kai clones patroled the perimeter, keeping a watch on the fortress. Everyone was getting inpatiant. The bunker was not large enough for comfert and tempers were getting short. With dgre held prisoner, MyKai was near uncontrolable. Twilight had tricked him into Micro's lab and he was proptly pounced on by Micro's three clones and Kai 21. MyKai was tossed into a jury-rigged cryopod and frozen. Micro reminded herself to check MyKai's monogamy program after this was over. After all that they were finaly ready. EveningStar called PerfectBlue, Zebeep, Twilight, and Kai 21 to Micro's lab. "Tommarow, we will take back APEC fortress." said ES. "Each of you has a very important part in this attack." said MicroMary. "One of the first things we need to do is immoblize Kai 13. Kai21, Zebeep, this will be your job." Micro turned to her work table lifting a syringe filled with a pale blue liquid. "Kai 21 it will be your job to hold Kai13 so Zebeep can inject this into him. It's a freezing agent and will immoblize him within seconds." "I'll do my best." said Kai 21. "You better." said Zebeep. "Blue, Twilight, it's your job to take out Fields of Heather. I tryed making an antivirus to combat the Blight useing samples I got from Crabgrass's corpse, but wasn't able to. So we are going with you plan, Blue." said Micro. "You are?" said Blue, slightly shocked. "Yes, sort of." Micro pointed to a tray with two syringes on it filled with a vile yellow liquid. "I've come up with this syrum. One of you is going to have to inject this into Heather." said Micro, stone faced, "This syrum will push Heather to the brink of death. The Blight will either die or try to escape to find a new host. We have a 5 minute window in which to ingect the anti-syrum and bring her back." "What happens after 5 minutes?" asked Twilight fearfully. "Heather will suffer permanent brain damage," said Micro, " or she might not come back at all." ***** It was a moonless night, clouds covering the heavens as Cerri and Alg climbed over the walls of the fortress. Once at the top, they ran along the wall and down the ladder. They mission was to get the gates open. They ran towards the main gates. Cerri scidded to a stop, "DA*N." The main gates were covered with vines. "We can't cut those, Heather will know we're in here." said Alg. Cerri thought a moment, "Come on, change of plans." Cerri turned and ran towards the walled garden. It wasn't much of a garden anymore, the Visarous plant had drained it of all life. The trees, shrubs, flowers were all dead. In the middle of the garden sat the large bloated bulb that was the body of the Visarous plant. Cerri and Alg crept up on it, pulling out their swords. Once next to the bulb they struck, with quick slashes they sliced open the plant, foul smelling yellow liquid poured out of the cuts. From inside the fortess came a scream of pain. Cerri and Alg kept on cutting as the vines all around them writhed, caught in the throws of death. Only when the vines stopped moveing and the plant looked more like a pile of clipping, did Cerri and Alg turn and run back to the gates. As Cerri had hoped the vines had fallen, unblocking the gates. Cerri and Alg quickly opened them for the APEC and ORAL forces waiting outside. Inside the main hall, Fields of Heather slept in her massive mahogany chair (which was actually Remma's.) Kai13 stood beside her, head lowered. Jade slept, obliveous to what was happening, near the fireplace. Max, VisionAri, Dgre, Ging, Lomia, and Ghia hung from the rafters, all unconscous. Suddenly Heather's eyes snaped open, she threw her head back and screamed. Kai13 snaped to attention. |
