| "Mistress what.." started Kai13. "They're here." roared Heather, standing up. She watched as the vines along the walls and rafters shook. The ones holding VA and the others dropped them as they twisted about. "NO" screched Heather. Just then the main doors flew open. In poured the members of APEC and ORAL. Heather shouted at Kai13, "Stop them." Obedeantly Kai13 charged them. Lifting his brace arm, he took aim at Twilight. Kai21 tackled Kai13, knocking him to the ground. They rolled about, Kai21 trying to hold Kai13 down. Kai13 pinned Kai 21 to the floor and held his brace arm to Kai21's neck. Kai13 gasped at a sharp pain in his back. Zebeep shoved the plunger down on the syringe, forceing the freezing agent into Kai13. Kai21 shoved the frozen Kai13 away, amazed at how fast it had worked. Heather hissed, knocking several attackers away. Seeing her last line of defence taken down she did the only thing she could. She ran towards the side exit. PerfectBlue appeared in the door way, holding one of the syringes in his hand. Heather scidded to a stop. Twilight ran up behind Heather, jaming her syringe into Heather's back. Heather screached, spun and knocked Twilight away. Reaching around, she pulled the syringe from her back and tossed it away. Twilight looked at the syringe, just feet away, still half full. She shouted at Blue, "I only got half in her." Blue knodded. Micro had said only one syringe full was needed but had given them two just in case. Blue gripped the one in his hand and looked at Heather. She stood swaying slightly, the syrum starting to take effect. Blue ran towards her. Seeing Blue comming, Heather swung. Blue ducked and rammed the syringe into her stomache. Heather gasped as the cold liquid pumped into her. Blue pulled the syringe out. He looked down at it and felt his blood run cold. It was empty. He had pumped too much into her. She stood there a moment, the rage draining from her face. Shock replaced it as the cold liguid flowed threw her. Inside, the Blight was screaming, rageing maddly. It's perfect host was dieing and there was no way to stop it. It had only one hope, it had to escape this body. But there were no sutable hosts here. It didn't matter to the Blight. Only escape mattered. Heather fell to her hands and knees. Blue, Micro, Twilight and ES stood around her. "Come on, come on." hissed Micro, "Finally." Heather opened her mouth. A pasty white ligied flowed out, puddling on the floor. "Blue grab her." shouted Micro, as Heather saged towards the floor. Blue grabed Heather, pulling her away from the puddle. Micro moved quickly, dipping an empty syringe into the liguid, drawing it up. "ES, now." said Micro. ES opened the box she had been carrying and Micro tossed the syringe into the dry ice, freezing it. Micro grabed another syringe, this one full of a pale red liguid. Bending over the prone Heather she injected the anti-serum. Silence fell over the hall. Micro looked at her watch, counting the seconds. It should only take 30 seconds to work. 10.....15......20. At 25 seconds, Micro felt fear well up inside her. What if it didn't work. What if the over dose was to much for the anti-serum to counteract. At esactly 31 seconds, Heather's eyes snaped open. She gasped and began coughing. She rolled onto her side, the coughs shakeing her body. Micro let out the breath she had been holding. So did half the people in the room. Once the coughing had stopped, Micro and Blue helped Heather sit up. She looked around, dazed, shakeing from the shock. Micro smiled, "I hope you realize this doesn't get you out of guard duty next Friday." Heather smiled, tears streaming down her face. She threw her arms around Micro. Micro hugged her back. A cheer rose from the croud, everyone huging and laughing. The sun rose above the forest, casting it's warm light over the APEC fortress. Inside, the main hall was buzzing with activity. The table was set for breakfast, ladies stood about chatting, laughing. Kai13 quietly desended the main stairs, Heather cradled in his arms. She was still very weak. Heather marvaled at how quickly things had gone back to normal, when only two days ago... Heather halted that thought, shutting her eyes. It hurt, remembering it hurt. She pushed the memory away. Kai13 carryed her over to the table, sitting her down. As the other ladies came to the table, they stopped to say hi and hug her, asking how she was. Heather smiled, blinking back tears. "What would I ever do with out you guys?" said Heather smiling. "You'll never know." said VisionAri. "Cause you'll never get rid of us." laughed Dgre. ***** Micro turned to see Kai13 carry Heather into the lab. "You wanted to see me?" said Heather. "Yes." said Micro, "I thought you might want to see this." Turned she gestured to a sealed jar. Inside was a small amount to white liguid. "What is it?" asked Heather. "That is the Blight." said Micro. |
